I love all the support that I get at UW-Milwaukee Club sports, multicultural centers, I've made tons of friends. And I always have support from my advisors. I'm not afraid to reach for my dreams because I know that UWM has my back.
Classics Major Audrey Found a Welcoming University at UWM
Audrey, a classics major from Illinois, initially transferred to UW-Milwaukee from another university. She really wanted a more inclusive campus, one with multicultural centers and a community that was welcoming and diverse. At UWM, she found what she was looking for, including having a supportive advisor — another aspect of the campus experience she felt was missing at her old school. “Having a mentor who you trust and believe in really makes it easier to have conversations about class material, but also with professional advice, such as pursuing post-graduate degrees and other career opportunities,” Audrey says.
