Hello, I hope you're doing well. Welcome to another video from the bustling city of Tehran. These videos were filmed a few days before the Iranian New Year. The Iranian New Year, known as Nowruz, marks the beginning of spring. The atmosphere in Tehran these days is very different, make sure to watch the video until the end. I think you'll find it interesting. Tehran, with a population of 12 million, is a very crowded city, especially nearing Nowruz. The gathering you see is because a woman is si
nging on the street and people are cheering her on. You may be aware that there are laws in the Islamic Republic of Iran that prohibit women from singing or appearing in public without hijab. The people were cheering for this woman when the police intervened and dispersed them. The Islamic Republic of Iran opposes such activities, like dancing and singing, even if it's for the new year. In the voices of these people, you hear them addressing the police, saying "God curse you" and "You are agains
t the happiness of the people." Anyway, every country has its own laws, and these laws are currently enforced in Iran. Of course, the police also receive orders from above, and it may not be entirely their decision to disrupt the people's joy. In recent years, there have been protests by people opposing and fighting against these laws. Some people are supporters of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while others oppose such decisions, making the issue more complex. Tehran is the capital of Iran and w
ith a population of 12 million, it's a very crowded city. Now, nearing Nowruz, it's customary in Iran for everyone to buy new clothes and items for the new year, which makes the streets even busier. This is Sadeghiyeh Square, and it always gets like this nearing Nowruz. Many street vendors come out, and people crowd the streets. You can find everything here. One important tradition during Nowruz is cleaning the house and preparing for the new year. This process, known as "Khaneh Tekani," is done
to clean and prepare the house for the arrival of Nowruz. Some people in Iran have the habit of wearing new clothes for the Nowruz celebration, symbolizing freshness and a new start for the new year. That's why you see many street vendors selling clothes. Haft-Seen is an important tradition of Nowruz in Iran, where seven items starting with the letter "S" in Persian are used as symbols of different aspects of life. The components of Haft-Seen include garlic, vinegar, coins, wheat germ pudding,
a mirror, hyacinth, an apple, sumac, and wheatgrass. That's why you see vendors selling Haft-Seen items. You might not believe it, but at the moment we're filming, it's around midnight, and this crowd is out on the streets. It's truly a unique experience that you can't find everywhere in the world, this number of people out on the streets at midnight, and life is bustling. During Nowruz days, families and friends gather around the Haft-Seen table to spend quality time together. During the new ye
ar, Iran is officially closed for 5 days, and schools, universities, and some offices are closed for two weeks. People have the custom of visiting each other's homes during Nowruz and catching up. It's a tradition in Iran for elders to give money to younger ones as a gift for Nowruz, so they have a prosperous year. This is Bab Homayoun Street, a very old street in the center of Tehran. Bab Homayoun Street dates back to the Nasser al-Din Shah Qajar era and was paved with stones by his order in 12
88. Bab Homayoun Street is located near Toopkhaneh Square and Tehran Bazaar, recognized as one of Tehran's important historical passages. Now this street has turned into a hub for foodies, where you can find various Iranian street foods and snacks. Due to the presence of antique shops, restaurants, and traditional cafes, it has become one of Tehran's tourist attractions. On Bab Homayoun Street, you can try various traditional Iranian dishes such as kebabs, stews, soups, and dizi. Additionally, t
here are numerous shops on this street selling souvenirs and Iranian handicrafts. Walking on Bab Homayoun Street provides an opportunity to experience Iran's history and culture. You can get acquainted with local Iranians on this street and have conversations with them. Bab Homayoun Street, with its unique architecture and nostalgic atmosphere, is an ideal place for photography. If you're looking for a different experience of Tehran, be sure to visit Bab Homayoun Street. On this street, you can
enjoy seeing historical buildings, trying traditional foods, and buying souvenirs. Bab Homayoun Street is a suitable place to get acquainted with the history and culture of Iran. This street has its own unique beauty in every season. Near Nowruz, it becomes one of Iran's busiest streets because it's close to the grand bazaar. You can spend pleasant moments with friends and family on this street. Bab Homayoun Street is a piece of Tehran's living history. This street serves as a passage from the p
ast to the present. Walking on Bab Homayoun Street takes you on a journey through time. On this street, you can get familiar with Iranian culture and customs. Iranians are made up of various ethnicities and religions. However, most Iranians are Muslims. However, the Islamic appearance you see in countries like Saudi Arabia is different in Iran. It's an Islam that's influenced by Persian roots. The culture of Iranians differs somewhat from other Muslim countries. Iranians are known for their hosp
itality and warmth. They value family and respect for elders highly. Iranians have a great fondness for poetry and music, and they take pride in their history and culture. Throughout their history, Iranians have experienced many ups and downs and are known for their intelligence and creativity. Iranians have achieved remarkable success in various fields such as science, arts, and sports. Iran is a country with cultural and ethnic diversity, where people live together peacefully. Some sources men
tion up to 40 ethnicities, but generally, there are 5 main ethnicities in Iran: 1- Persians: who make up the majority of Iran's population. 2- Azeris: who reside in northwest Iran. 3- Kurds: who reside in western Iran. 4- Lurs: who reside in southwest Iran. 5- Baloch: who reside in southeast Iran. In addition to these main ethnicities, other groups such as Arabs, Turkmen, Gilaks, Mazandaranis, and Armenians also live in Iran. The important point is that ethnic boundaries in Iran are not always c
lear, and many individuals have mixed ethnic identities. Furthermore, throughout Iran's history, different ethnicities have intermarried, and their cultures have Therefore, it can be said that Iran is a country with a rich diversity of ethnicity and culture. Due to this ethnic and cultural diversity, you see a very large number of different foods and cultures, and the fact that these people live together is very fascinating. Iranian women play an active role in society and have achieved remarkab
le success in various fields such as scientific, artistic, athletic, and political. Iran ranks first in the Middle East and 18th globally in terms of gender equality in education. Iranians are known for their hospitality and warmth. If you travel to Iran, you will see that people welcome you with open arms and help you during your trip. Iran has diverse tourist attractions. From Persepolis and Naqsh-e Jahan Square to Khaju Bridge and Tehran Grand Bazaar, Iran has something to offer for every tas
te. Iran is the cradle of civilization and culture. Iran's historical background dates back to over 5000 years, and this country has made significant discoveries and innovations throughout its history. Iranians have a great interest in food and cuisine. Iranian dishes such as Chelo Kebab, Ghormeh Sabzi, and Fesenjan are popular worldwide. Iran has the largest collection of ancient artifacts in the world, including Persepolis, Pasargadae, and Bisotun inscriptions. Iran has one of the largest stud
ent populations in the region and the world, which is continuously growing. Iran has a very beautiful and unique architecture including historical buildings and ancient mosques. Iran has one of the leading IT and software production centers in the region, and Iranian technology companies have an important position in the global market. Iran also has one o
f the largest online markets in the region, which is rapidly growing and developing. Iran has one of the most complex and categorized public transportation systems in the world. Iranian interior architecture in libraries and mosques has a great variety and beauty that is admirable. Iran has a wide variety of beautiful natural landscapes including deserts, forests, mountains, and seas. Iran's rich history and culture have made it a popular destination for cultural and historical tourism. Iran has
one of the largest and most valuable collections of poetry and literature in the world, including works by great poets such as Hafez, Saadi, and Ferdowsi. Iran has one of the largest mineral reserves in the world, including coal, copper, zinc, and gold. Iran has a rich diversity of local foods and cuisines, ranging from seafood to mountain and desert dishes. Iran has one of the largest artistic communities in the world, encompassing arts such as handicrafts, music, and painting. Iran has one of the largest and most v
ibrant university communities in the world, accommodating many students and researchers. Here is the Abdolabad Market in the south of Tehran. In previous videos, we explained that Tehran differs from all other cities in Iran, and this city has a lot of cultural diversity and class differences. If you haven't seen the video, I strongly recommend watching it. We explained that the south of Tehran is inhabited by poorer people, while the north of Tehran is inhabited by wealthy people. Abdolabad is
located in the south of Tehran, and the people of this area are financially weaker than those in the north of Tehran. Abdolabad is the center for selling fabrics, curtains, and clothing in Tehran. Most of the clothes you find here are produced in Bangladesh and Pakistan and are sold wholesale. Many upscale boutiques in the city center purchase their goods from here at lower prices and sell them in their shops at several times the profit. From the appearance of the people and the urbanization of
this area, you can tell that this is the lower part of the city. Even the words that people use in these areas are different from other parts of Tehran. Certainly, the security of the southern areas of Tehran is different from the northern areas. But anyway, it's close to the New Year, and people have crowded this important street for shopping. This market is busy on regular days, but as we approach the New Year, it becomes several times busier. Iran's policies are such that it does not attract
many tourists, and the infrastructure for tourism in Iran has not developed much. But I'm sure if these issues are addressed, Iran will be very attractive and interesting for tourists. The goldfish, due to its bright color and beauty, is a symbol of beauty and freshness in nature. It is customary for Iranians to keep one or more goldfish in their homes for the New Year. Of course, this issue also has many opponents who believe that it harms the environment and animals. Anyway, if you like a lot
of hustle and bustle, you can visit Abdolabad. The prices here are very reasonable, and it is a good place to buy clothes, fabrics, and curtains. For this reason, you see a large population here. If you liked the video and want to see more similar videos, subscribe so you don't miss them. Also, to support me, you can like the video and share it with others. This really helps me produce more videos for you. Iranians are really warm and hospitable. This gentleman you saw, when he realized I was fi
lming him, he greeted me with a smile and joked with me. You may not find this kind of friendly behavior everywhere in the world. Many people think Iranians are cold, dry, and emotionless, but it's completely the opposite. The image you see of Iran in the media is mostly incorrect. I hope Iran's borders will open again and people will be able to come to this country more and see its beauties up close. This way, perhaps the world's perception of Iran will improve and wrong judgments will be set a
side. Also, it's important for Iranians to see the outside world and gain a fuller understanding of other countries, helping to broaden their perspectives. Many Iranians haven't had the opportunity to travel abroad and see beyond their borders. Many people believe that Western countries are ideal cities where poverty and lack of culture don't exist within them. But the reality may be different from their perceptions. Many Iranians think that class differences and high prices are unique to Iran,
but this isn't the case. Perhaps even the standard of living in Iran is higher than many Western countries, but Iranians think differently because they have limited information. On the other hand, it should be noted that aspects such as the image portrayed of a country in the media often only represent a part of reality and cannot lead to a definitive conclusion. These images may be influenced by political and cultural perspectives and may overlook different realities. This is why direct communi
cation and firsthand experience with the people of a country can provide a more accurate picture. This can contribute to better understanding and improved relations between nations, reducing misconceptions and misunderstandings. It's important to recognize that all countries and their people have their own unique characteristics and qualities, and the cultural and social diversity of this world is one of humanity's greatest assets, deserving respect and appreciation. Nevertheless, international
relations and the opportunities for cultural and economic exchange can help strengthen relations between nations and promote peace and friendship among different peoples worldwide. Cooperation and cultural exchange between countries and their people can serve as an effective strategy for resolving conflicts and increasing mutual understanding and respect. YouTube, as one of the largest and most popular video platforms in the world, plays a significant role in social communication and cultural ex
change. This website not only allows individuals to share their own videos but also provides audiences with the opportunity to explore various contents. In this regard, YouTube's role as a social media platform has multiple influential aspects. YouTube provides a suitable space for cultural exchange. People from all over the world can share their videos on various topics, including music, art, education, travel, nature, etc. This possibility allows people to learn about the cultures and lives of
other countries and strengthens communication between cultures. YouTube can act as an effective information medium. Through news videos, analytical programs, and educational content, people can gain more information about various issues, including social, political, and economic matters. The ability to convey emotions and experiences through sound and image on YouTube increases the influence of content. This capability can be useful for raising awareness about social issues and conveying cultur
al and social messages. With features such as comments, messages, and video responses, YouTube allows users to directly interact with each other and with content creators, sharing their opinions and experiences. Therefore, YouTube, as a social media, plays a crucial role in increasing cultural exchange, raising awareness, social interactions, and international communication, contributing to the achievement of peace and mutual understanding among nations. This awareness can clearly demonstrate th
at people around the world are very similar to each other and have similar concerns and aspirations. As a result, creating more opportunities for cultural exchange, economic development, and international communication can bring about significant improvements in relations between nations and a better understanding of each other. These efforts can help build structures based on peace, interaction, and cooperation among nations, moving towards a more integrated and sustainable global community. He

Where we are currently walking is Tajrish Bazaar. This covered bazaar has a very long history and is considered one of Tehran's attractions. Cove
red markets in Iran, such as Tehran's grand bazaars and Tajrish Bazaar, are part of Iran's special history and culture and have significant tourist and commercial appeal for people and visitors. Tehran Grand Bazaar is one of the most famous covered markets in Iran located in the heart of the capital, near Imam Khomeini Square and Ganj-e Mosalas neighborhood. In recent years, this bazaar has become one of the important tourist destinations in Tehran, which besides offering a variety of products,
has attractions for visitors. At Tehran Grand Bazaar, one can find products including clothing, shoes, household items, carpets, chinaware, handicrafts, gold and jewelry, perfumes, and locally handmade products. This bazaar has a large area and includes many streets and alleys, covering a vast area. Tajrish Bazaar is also one of the most famous covered bazaars in Tehran located in the Tajrish area, having a special position in commercial and economic activities. This bazaar has beautiful and his
torical architecture that particularly appeals to visitors. In Tajrish Bazaar, one can find a variety of products including clothing, household items, cosmetics, local foods and souvenirs, books and stationery, and other items. This bazaar, as one of the important commercial points in Tehran, has always been full of cultural and historical aspects and serves as the center of commercial and economic activities in the region. Overall, each of these markets, with their history, environment, and var
ious products they offer, have their own attractions for visitors and are part of the culture and urban life in Iran. In the heart of every main bazaar, you can find hundreds of other small stalls, like this passage which is a fabric market. Or for example, markets where only gold sellers are located. The advantage of these centralized markets is that everyone is concentrated in them, there is a high diversity, and you can definitely find your desired item here. Another advantage of these centra
lized markets is that there is intense competition. For this reason, prices have been reduced, and they are competitive. Inflation in Iran is high, and many people face difficulties in meeting their basic needs. Despite economic difficulties, Iranians are known for their warmth and hospitality. Family holds an important place in Iranian culture, and many people live with their parents, relatives, or extended family. Iranian cuisine is very diverse and delicious, and Iranians have a great interes
t in cooking and hosting gatherings. Music and poetry hold a special place in Iranian culture, and many Iranians are fond of traditional music and Iranian poets. Iran has many tourist attractions such as Persepolis, Naqsh-e Jahan Square, and Khaju Bridge. In recent years, the number of foreign tourists traveling to Iran has increased. Iranian women are active in various fields of education and professions. Hijab is mandatory for women in Iran. Access to the internet in Iran is free, but some web
sites and social networks are filtered. The use of mobile phones is very common in Iran. Iranians have a great interest in sports, and football is the most popular sport in Iran. Iran has made significant advancements in scientific and technological fields in recent years. Iran is a member of the United Nations and many other international organizations. Iran is currently facing many economic and political challenges. Iranians hope for peace and stability in their country in the future. Despite
the challenges, Iran is a beautiful and attractive country with hospitable and warm people. Traveling to Iran can be a unique and memorable experience for tourists. Here is Arge Tajrish Passage, located on the northwest side of Tajrish Square. Arge Tajrish is one of the modern passages in Tehran and has a slightly longer history than other passages in Tehran. This passage usually gets crowded on weekends and is a hangout spot for young people. They gather here and spend time together. Perhaps if
you come here on weekends, you will see a much larger crowd. We came in the middle of the week, and the passage was very quiet. Here also has a coffee shop and restaurant where you can spend time with your friends. There is a food court on one floor of this passage where you can find various foreign and Iranian foods. There is also an amusement park floor that can be very exciting for young people and children. To better understand Iran, it is necessary to become familiar with the culture and h
istory of this country. Iranians speak Persian. The currency unit in Iran is the rial. The capital of Iran is Tehran. Iran is a mountainous country, and its highest peak is Damavand. The Caspian Sea is located in the north of Iran, and the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are located in the south of Iran. Iran has various climates, including hot and dry, cold and mountainous, and temperate. Iran has a long historical background and a rich civilization. Cultural and ethnic diversity in Iran is hi
gh, and people live alongside each other with different ethnicities and languages. Economic challenges such as inflation and unemployment are among the problems of the Iranian people. Despite the challenges, Iranians have hope for the future and strive for the advancement of their country. Due to copyright music played in the coffee shop, the sound of this part has been removed. Here is the Istanbul Square intersection in the center of Tehran. It has no connection with Norooz (Persian New Year).
It is always crowded and chaotic here. Motorcycles and cars rush towards you from all sides, and you have to be very careful not to get robbed in the crowd. If you have a fear of crowded and chaotic places, it will be terrifying for you here. It was still a month until the New Year here. If you come here in the last week of the year, you will definitely get dizzy from the crowding. It's truly one of the busiest streets in Iran. A few years ago, in this neighborhood, the Plasco Passage collapsed
due to a fire, and many firefighters and civilians lost their lives. This is the center of Iranian clothing production, and you can find Iranian clothing brands here. Naturally, clothing prices here are cheaper than elsewhere, but there are no international brands here. You will find mostly fake and counterfeit products here. For example, you can buy a Gucci or Louis Vuitton bag for $10 here. I myself worked here for a while, and it's memorable for me. There's a lot of hustle and bustle here. T
he reason this intersection is named after Istanbul is that the Turkish embassy is located here. The British embassy is also located in this area, and the presence of numerous shopping centers and passages such as Ferdowsi Passage, Berlin Alley, as well as exchange offices, has turned this intersection into one of the capital's important commercial centers. The National Jewelry Museum on the southern side of Istanbul Square and Cafe Nadery on its western side are among the tourist attractions of
this area. Pahlavi-era buildings with colorful arches around Istanbul Square showcase themselves. Due to the metro and bus lines, access to Istanbul Square from various parts of Tehran is easy. Due to the high volume of car traffic and pedestrians, traffic is heavy at this intersection. The Pahlavi architecture, the National Jewelry Museum, and Cafe Nadery seem to bring history alive at this point. The traffic of people with different ethnicities and cultures brings a unique experience of Irani
an society. The hustle and bustle and constant activities create an energetic and attractive atmosphere. The architecture, traffic, and ethnic diversity create unique photography subjects. As a connection point to various parts of the city, Istanbul Square makes it easy to navigate Tehran. I recommend that if you come to Iran, do not miss this place; it might be interesting for you. This place is close to Tehran Bazaar, which you must experience. We appreciate you being with us until the end of

I'm glad they celebrate the new year in spring when everything is being reborn and coming back to life, which, in my opinion, should be celebrated instead of in the dead of winter.

@asmr-pov

Don't you feel uncomfortable when people keep staring at the camera? Anyway nice tour!

@dongiovanni1248

hello nice video; I have one question: at 7:11 you say Nasser al-Din Shah Qajar paved the street with stones in 1288 but he lived in the 19th century; is it just a typo or do you refer to another calendar?

@karz12

The iranian people need to invent a new writing system.

@mikef25

All I read from different search engines and the Western media is that the hijab laws are getting stricter and the punishments more severe. Then there is the Radio Free Europe news from last October that the Guardian Council has returned the proposed new legislation back to the parliament due to ambiguities. What I see in these videos are less people with hijabs, not more. What's happening?

موتورسیکلت و دستفروشی بیش از حد چهره شهر رو زشت کرده و دلیل اصلیش هم ضعف مدیریت هست.

I respect the people of Iran, however, I cannot understand why Iran supports Putin's invasion and unjustifiable war with Ukraine. I wish the Iranian government would at least condemn Putin's unjustifiable war in Ukraine. Many thousands of Ukrainian civilians have lost their lives or homes as a result of Putin's war.
