A condition in which you feel that you have seen this incident somewhere before but you are not able to pinpoint where and when you have seen it. Yes, I am talking about deja vu phenomenon, today in this video we will learn about the theory explaining it and understand what is its reason. Before understanding this, you should know how our brain processes information. The information received by our eyes reaches the back part of our brain which we call virtual cortex in the form of electrical sign
als. There the information is processed and a realistic picture of it is created. But before reaching the virtual cortex, this information is also processed in the amygdala and tectum. Where in the amygdala this process happens at the emotional level, such as fear after seeing a lion or happiness. The same process takes place at a basic level in the tectum. Remember that this information has not yet reached the virtual cortex, but still this information has been processed so much that it helps bl
ind people whose virtual cortex is damaged, yet while walking on the road, they realize who we should avoid. Have to walk. This might have given us the idea that our brain arranges small information in a sequence. The combination of all these creates a perspective of reality in our brain. To understand this, let us go back a little when we humans lived in the forest. At that time there was a fear that some animal might attack us.Due to which our brain had to be ready, keeping this in view our bra
in developed in such a way that it started predicting the future, like if there is movement in a storm, then our brain predicts that there must be some animal there, hence stay away from there. It is better or if something comes closer quickly, our brain would not have enough time to think, so it would predict the danger and save itself.Considering all these, our brain stores the information in the present and creates a sequence so that it can take decisions about future events and save us from
the coming danger. Deja Vu also happens to us for the same reason, which is a kind of pattern identification which helps us in predicting the future. For example, suppose you are using the phone and suddenly you get a notification and your phone slips out of your hand and falls down. goes and you think it this incident has happened to me before also but in reality earlier too you used to drop your phone in a similar manner which you don't pay much attention to and it becomes a sequence in which
your two actions - notification coming and phone falling are a sequence. So that whenever you get a notification, your brain will find those patterns and predict and tell you that your phone may fall now and if your phone falls, you will feel as if this has happened to you before too. This is the theory of Deja Vu. Remember that you will get this feeling only when you are in an environment where you interact daily because creating sequence is very important in this.Remember those days when listen
ing to songs would remind you of summer holidays and smelling the fragrance of flowers would remind you of special occasions. All these are the reasons why our brain creates a sequence pattern of the picture. I hope you have learned something new and like and subscribe for such interesting videos.
