So this year there were four seasonal events to come to Destiny 2. Guardian Games, Solstice of Heroes, Festival of the Lost and of course the most recent one, The Dawning. I'm going to be talking about each of these events and ranking them from best to worst. Events this year were very much a lacklustre experience, but some did at least give us some decent loot. So let's take a look in order of appearance all of the positives and negatives of each event. Starting with the Guardian Games. The Gua
rdian Games were the Olympics of the Guardians where players are able to earn and deposit medals in order to get points for their class. The class with the most medals at the end of each week was declared the weekly winner before eventually the final winner was revealed. In 2023 the Titans won the Guardian Games. Now enough about what the event is, what did it actually bring to the table? Well the entire gameplay loop of the Guardian Games was to complete bounties, dunk medals and do scored stri
kes. These did give us strike scoring in the main game, but the gameplay loop itself was pretty boring. Nothing new was added, the weapons, the title and the Taraxipos were pretty solid and only having these weapons made Godrol farming significantly easier than other events. Not having to go out of your way to play a specific activity did mean you could passively complete the Guardian Games bounties to acquire these weapons. Because you didn't have to go out of your way, I'm giving the Guardian
Games bonus points and I still wouldn't say it was a great event. None of them really are, but I'm going to rank this one number 2 on the list. The next event was the Solstice of Heroes. Now this event brought us the EAZ, which in my opinion lasted a little longer in terms of activity length than I would have liked. The armor glows this year were insane to buy and the event pass format for this event specifically offered very little for free to play players. This year if I do remember correctly,
you couldn't actually earn the color glows, you had to pay for them with either silver or bright dust, which left many newer players unable to get the glows with bright dust because of their high price. The weapons in this event were subpar at best, nothing memorable came from this event and so for that reason I'm putting Solstice of Heroes at the number 4 spot being the most unenjoyable event this year in my opinion. Now onto Festival of the Lost which has never been the same since losing the
Infinite Forest and the Haunted Forest all those years ago. While the Haunted Lost sectors aren't the most fun activities, the bonus they have over the Solstice event is they are significantly faster than the EAZ. The weapons from the Festival of Lost are also extremely good and most of the weapons from the Festival are highly ranked in their class, especially the likes of Horror Story, Macabre and the A-Cosmic which was introduced this year. The Festival of the Lost was the least grindy of the
year if you were just looking to collect weapons, you didn't need to spam bounties unless you wanted to get yourself all the pages for the titles. Otherwise you were able to farm candy from Haunted Lost sectors and strikes to earn weapons, the downside being you did have to wear the Festival of the Lost mask. Because of the good weapons and its least grindy event, I'm gonna say this was the best event of the year placing it at number 1. Now the number 3 spot is going to be the most recent event,
the Dawning. Now the only reason this isn't at the number 4 spot is because the weapons from the Dawning are significantly better than those from the Solstice event, which makes me want to put it over it. The entire concept of the Dawning is to bake cookies, now while this is quite a boring concept, the positive side is you don't need to do any specific activities, just defeat enemies in specific ways to get ingredients, bake the cookies for the NPCs. Now this makes getting weapons reasonably q
uick, and the Dawning weapons are fantastic, you can check out my videos in the cards for a full breakdown of each of those weapons god rolls if you've got a few sitting in the vault now that the event is over. But that's why it takes the number 3 spot. And that's all, that's my list, let me know in the comments what you would rank these events and why. I hope you have enjoyed, if you did make sure you leave a like or even a cheeky sub. If you want to connect with me, my Twitch, Twitter and Disc
ord are all in the description below. Until next time, I'll see you on stream.
