I think that's the crowdest we've been in D so far hi everyone so this morning we are um on the outskirts of Dhaka and we're heading to Dhaka downtown right now so I'm going with um three people from Daka and and we will meet um a couple of friends as well and they will show me around um we're going to go to the downtown we'll do some shopping on the elephant Road I believe and uh we'll see few monuments few you know places where I have to visit to see and we'll go to the university as well so t
hat's the plan for today so we are walking to the bus stop right now and one crazy thing you need to know is that buses in Bangladesh don't fully stop for men they only slow down for women and children they do stop but as a man you might need to jump on the bus and then jump off it literally however you will see in a minute that they did stop for us because of sudesna and her female cousin and also the other thing is there are no specific bus stops in Bangladesh there are just general areas wher
e buses tend to stop so altogether catching a bus in b Bangladesh is not for beginners so sh's uncle came with us to help [Music] okay you ready to get on the bus let's Jump On [Music] [Music] It [Music] the SE sit down on the we're on the bus right now local attraction [Music] [Music] hello oh okay it's very comfortable isn't it like the bus the bus I think it's very comfortable it is very comfortable yeah it's and like we yeah the conductor made us some seats people moved away for us well yeah
of course but like you know it's clean it um you know like all the cushions everything's fine and you have all you me some friends I me some friends and you have um the blinds and then you have uh they're running f r f so yeah oh they're selling food yeah yeah we selling one other thing I found interesting is that vendors jump on a moving bus with fresh guava watermelons bananas and whatnot which is actually pretty good and then they just jump [Music] off [Music] we have another fruit Sal with
some guava famous ones and best used to used to come here as well so this is a 10 km Journey which takes with traffic an hour and a half and without traffic half an hour um and we just PID it costed us uh 40 T per person that's for adults and then um we have a couple of students here was 20 taka for a single student ticket um so 40 taka is basically like 40 cents 40p [Applause] [Applause] [Music] so the conductor collects the money in pass and there is no card system here you need to tell them w
hen you want to get off and they will shout to the driver to stop the bus for you when it's [Music] time okay we're here let's start [Music] walking [Music] [Music] right so crossing the roads was interesting it took us almost 10 minutes to cross the road which I cut out and also helped from three people people don't really stop for you you kind of have to March forward and raise your hand they will slow down you kind of have to walk around them also Crossings don't exist in Bangladesh not reall
y and if they do no one is paying any attention to them so well good luck to us and we made [Music] it going to get some bananas they're like Bangladeshi bananas really small ones I used to eat and they taste very different to the big ones you [Music] seeast yeah look how small this is teeny tiny one yeah so basically it's just like two bites isn't [Music] [Applause] [Music] it first of all they're orange inside and they're very sweet I would say they're very sweet um little b t very sweet and j
ust little bit Tangy yeah they're nice how much have they for hey and it was 30 for five of them right so we're still walking we're going to Stan M shopping mall um on elephant Road a going to try some Chu bag SE it's very sour sour very sour sour [Music] and the [Music] [Applause] now I don't this m detector [Music] works so there is six floors of the shops here lots of lots of stores some shops are bit bigger so we're just going to walk around and and see what we have our um the women are shop
ping without me cuz obviously they can um they can get a better price without me um and well we're looking for jewelry and I have no clue about what we actually need to buy on four floor now and so far it's been basically women's fashion and some some clothes for kids now but now we're on the third floor and we're seeing some clothes for men as well [Music] here okay so we have finished here and essentially um the ladies didn't buy anything we liked quite a few things but we didn't buy anything
because um they need to bring an out with one of one of the out uh is really really good at bargaining and they will and well and with her help they will buy everything for a for for a good price and she also knows how much they should really pay for things here um so that's that and also they noticed a lot of fake design um bags and just stuff you know like like Gucci like trada and so on um and they looked they looked really good they looked authentic um but obviously they're not real um and a
pparently there's a lot of tourists a lot of people like us coming here um just to buy Tech designer items and the next place we're going to go is another Market um gausa Gaia Market gaussia Market so we'll go to gaussia market um to look for more jewelry more cloves um for the Asian wedding we're just walking to the gausia market on a regular Street and look there's barely any pavement left everyone is doing business and you can basically buy anything in everything here pretty [Music] handy yea
h like hustle and B STS everywhere traffic lots and lots of people [Music] buy so I thought it was a single flower shop right right apparently these are multiple shops clamped next to each other also all the shops were very narrow they are probably 2 and 1/2 M wide so pretty crumbed and here is my felt attempt at bargaining and trying to buy some [Music] flowers we did all of this food here but [Music] [Music] [Music] sh [Music] look at me after few attempts already crossing the road like a true
Bangladeshi you are clearly a natural honey okay so right now we're in G Market which is in front of us there a place um to buy jewelry in that it's just tens and tens of stars guys believe it or not the thisas is actually not very busy we came back on a weekend and it was so much worse but this will be for another video so these shops go on for miles and miles and it's like a super hot maze but if you know what you're doing you can find everything there and it's super cheap right so G is such
a unique experience it's so different to anything I've ever done it's just so busy it's so hot but also people are really warm and friendly and nice and all together you know you could come here and spend only an hour you could spend the whole day but it really feels like the whole city if not the whole country just came to this one single spot it's V concentrated it's very unique and I would definitely recommend everyone if you in Daka you should definitely experience this for yourself just so
much so many stols so many cors [Applause] [Music] here I think D so [Music] far [Music] after another yet unsuccessful shopping trip shash now wanted to show me Neil cat Neil cat is this massive shopping mall but only for books so there's over 800 book stols it's like a maze it's very unique and if you ever come to Bangladesh you definitely have to check it out it's just so different fun fact when I was a child in Bangladesh I used to harass all the bookkeepers for Harry Potter books Let's goin
g to one of them let's have a look oh biochemistry there you go that's my St yes I mean how cool is about like I assume College mathematics economics literally whatever literally whatever you want to study you will find these books and look at that now it just goes and on and on in every direction and just splits and it's going to split again here so we can go there here back to the seat we go somewhere there this is just absolutely insane [Music] the smell of food here like I have books all aro
und me still um on the street and some like some VAR products now but you have books here but also you can smell food like you smell bani not sure where it's coming from but oh yeah here you go so I suppose in between these book stores and printing printing shelves you can buy some food and the smell is just amazing oh no problem right so this is it we're heading home but you know all in all from catching the bus in the morning to seeing the goua market and Ben nil cat is such an amazing and uni
que day I would totally recommend it anyone I haven't been to Bangladesh for 12 years yet I felt like I never left it was amazing to see Neil K and Gaia again all the hustle and bustle so if you ever in Taka I totally recommend you check out Gaia and Neil K and I would love to know your thoughts so please leave a comment subscribe and [Music] share

amount of people, noise, traffic can be a little bit overwhelming at the start, but you quickly get used to it! :))
