Dollywood is officially open for the season and there are some major changes this year good evening I'm Sarah Diamond and I'm Casey maror the East Tennessee Theme Park is open in extra 23 days compared to last year that's after the 2023 season saw an attendance record Dollywood also earned five golden ticket Awards last year that's basically the Oscars of theme parks for comparison one of those golden tickets was in the best guest experience category News Channel 11's anley Daniel is at dolly wo
od uh just covering the opening she has the great assignment today she's going to tell us about the entertainment she's seen so far and uh things that contribute to the overall wonderful experience there hey Ansley hey Casey and Sara yeah it is a tough day to be me I've gotten to see Dolly a couple times I've been smelling cinnamon bread and just getting to see folks out and about as Dollywood opens for its 39th season now like I mentioned before dolly is here today and I wish you could see all
the pink and all the signs and all the things that people have been bringing just to honor her and to welcome her home but she did Welcome a special group of folks this morning into a packed celebrity theater to just chat about the 39th season here at Dollywood it's going to be a busy year for Dollywood no doubt about that it's also all about Dolly this year with three new shows at the start of the Season featuring her music it's like a mother trying to say you know which one of her kids she the
most I would say they're like my children and I expect them to support me when I'm old and they are those shows are the trio again with three times a lady paying tribute to her Trio album a sing along with Dolly and from the heart a Broadway Style Show showcasing her life and career through her music we look to her for our inspiration in everything we do and so we've made an effort with this festival with the iow Always Love You music festival we have three shows that are brand new for this Fes
tival that all are for Dolly a new family show will debut in May when the Dolly Parton experience opens every stage throughout the park all season long no matter what day you come you're going to be able to see great entertainment on those stages there have been years where we've had some stages that didn't have entertainment we're going to be able to fix that this year you know Dollywood is also focused on the guest experience even more so this year they're telling us that they're going going t
o be expanding the festivals they're all running a little bit longer than normal also when you come into the park you will not see any turn Styles they're trying to really make it a little bit overall of a more enjoyable experience for guests and of course you know we hope to be back in May when they open up the Dolly Parton experience where they will continue to be able to tell her life story but I'm going to go ahead and send things back to the studio reporting live in Dollywood Ansley Daniel
