So it's obvious that one of these speakers
is a real flip 6 but which one? I'll give you guys three seconds to decide which one it is. Alright time's up the real flip 6 is on the left if you look closely at it
the logo is not sticking out The buttons on this side are
identical on the real and the fake but the real one gives you the
party boost while the fake does not. Additionally on the fake the plus and minus
buttons have different programming, for instance a quick press on the real flip
6 changes the volume
whereas on the fake it changes the song. On the genuine one the name flip 6 is certainly easy to
read but the counterfeit one has darker letters. The best and most obvious way to tell a fake is
just by looking for the "M" button. JBL speakers will never have an "M" button which stands for
menu and that's because they don't have any additional media options like the fake has which
are the TF slot, the radio, and the USB port. The passive radiators are not the same, the r
eal one matches the color of
the body and it's not a sticker. As you can see the wrist strap
are also different as well. On the real flip 6 requires just a
short press for the fake you will need to actually press and hold down the
button the power on sounds are identical but the fake is Extremely Loud! To turn them
off you will need to follow the same steps. This is what the packaging looks like, the fake

thanks for the vid, the "flip 6" I have is almost visually identical to the real one, besides the tab that flaps up with the usb. the only manufacturing error that made me really question it at first was one of the side logos was ever so slightly tilted (you probably wouldn't even notice if you didn't look for it). The build quality feels really solid but the audio quality is definitely flat, the audio controls are backwards, and of course its a hold for power on/off. some advice to anyone wondering, if you use the jbl portable app and it doesn't pick up your device, that's an easy tell tale that you may have a fake, if it picks up your speaker you don't have to worry about it (not all speakers are compatible with it but the flip6 is).
just got a fake flip for £10 and i'm impressed with its performance. granted its not as loud but for a tenner i can't complain. i use VLC and can adjust to make it sound great

I just bought a Flip 6 from a local retailer. the seller told me they sell original stuff but I didn't listen to him I just bought it. when I came back home I saw comments about fake JBL products! just found your video to see the differences between real vs fake and thank goodness I got the real thing. thank you sir for the video.
Unfortunately, I fell for a much more elaborate fake Flip 6 in black :-(. The only differences are the missing red outline around the big JBL logo and that the ends of the speakers are not made of a rubber-like elastic material. The latter you have to check by touching it. Also, the weight of the speaker is about half of that of the original (also not a visible indication). The box is identical, including the manual with the instructions how to download the JBL app (which of course doesn't recognise the fake speaker). Sound quality is so crappy (a lot of noise in standby) that the fake is just a toy for little children or e-waste.
I ordered t7 mini but its not arrived yet because it's too close to flip 6 sound quality and loudness , thanks for your review of t7 mini vs flip 6

I have a VERY VERY convincing flip 6. It's very similar to the real one, the only difference being a minor change in color and the letters "JBL" on the speaker protruding.
