[Music] [Music] good day folks welcome to another offthe  cuff ramble chat conversation and today I've got the wonderful Ellie with me  and we are going to be talking about our current game week which has been  an absolute cluster [ __ ] so far um and we're also going to be talking about some  knee-jerk reactions and what we're thinking about doing in the next game week as well so  hey Ellie lovely to have you today how are you hey thanks so much for having me on I'm super  excited to be here an

d I can't say that FPL is going too well for me this season so I'm excited  to get your advice and all of our listeners advice about what I should do with my team oh my gosh  I don't think you want my advice right now I am like not doing very well at the moment um but  also I just want to say um really sorry about the absolute [ __ ] up with the timing as well  that was my fault I occasionally forget that you're you're not basic in the UK you're based in  Madrid no problem at all that's why I do

uble check because I know like the timing is super difficult  and with Madrid and the UK and Australia and the time zone change everything is just like a mess so  no worries at all well it's so it's so frustrating because I caught up with um black holf last week  and we had a great chat and I think their clocks changed on the weekend and and obviously the  the UK's clocks changed you know last week our change over here in Australia about um 2 weeks  ago and so with that like during that sort of

2 to 3 we period it's absolutely nuts with how  like crazy everything you know sort of becomes as well like with the the time zone changes and  all of that and then you know trust me to go and sort of try and get some International sort of  guests coming on coming on the show as well so um look I'm so glad that you were able to make it  and especially when I hit you up and said hey um so um can you do a little bit earlier thank you so  much no problem at all thanks for accommodating oh no all go

od all good um so tell me how you're  going in general and yeah so how's how's life in Madrid and you know so I think for all of the  people that are listening so obviously we've got people that are listening on Spaces right now  um and we've got people on YouTube as well so thank you for being here everyone farad I could  see you there amazing to see you Brian um yeah love to see you guys and Fran yeah thank you so  much Mohan thank you so much for being here as well like you guys are like supe

r consistent you  know turning up each week um so Ellie I've got a couple of pictures of you um from yeah from  like your days of doing some broadcasting work and stuff so tell us yeah tell us a bit about that  and you know how you went from being in the states to being in Madrid as well uh okay I answer the  states question first because it's a little bit easier um I met my now husband uh while we were  both working in New York City and he's Spanish so a couple of years in we decided like okay

let's  move to Spain let's see um which country we prefer to like live in and this way I can learn Spanish  because that was super important to us too um so we've been here for the past five years which  is really crazy W and it's yeah I know I can't believe that it's been 5 years because with  coid and everything it feels like way less time yeah um so that's basically how I ended up  in Madrid and in terms of the broadcasting work I'm just getting like so nostalgic seeing this  because it was b

ack in March it just feels like forever ago and I'm really glad that I got to  meet aspie um before he left obviously he's at Atletico now so he's right down the road from  me literally like their training center is in my town in Madrid no way it is but I have no  way of accessing it I don't have any way of getting it unfortunately um but yeah I started  just on Twitter a couple of years ago um and met some really lovely people who kind of gave me  opportunities on the Premier League show um and

my name started getting passed around uh around cha  as like a Chelsea fan who does broadcasting work so I was a regular on Chelsea's Match Day Live  the past season or two unfortunately the thanks um unfortunately the show is ain't going on uh  anymore but that's basically how I was able to do the picture you see there so I was doing some uh  work with them which was really cool um and yeah I'm hopeful to get back to Stanford Bridge maybe  some sometime uh next year hopefully especially if Che

lsea start picking up but let's see and I'll  be going to the Real Madrid versus Chelsea women match that's happening here in Madrid in a couple  of weeks so I'm super excited for that I got the SE like right on the corner flag like touching  the ground that is awesome they're like the best seeds wow yeah yeah and I'm I'm really hoping  that Chelsea score a goal like from that corner as long as as long as women Chelsea are scoring  goals right like that's that's the main thing as long as someone

's scoring girls there totally oh  that's so good oh that sounds amazing I hope that we can Co inside our trips you know for when I'm  in the UK next year as well so I'm planning to be there hopefully um I don't know may maybe like  I've got a wedding to go to and so yeah maybe who knows who knows we'll I'll I'll let you know when  I'm when I'm going to be in town and maybe we can work something out but before I sort of we before  we touch on our game weeks and stuff because that is like a downw

ard spiral of like chaos right  I'd love for you to tell us a little bit about what your extracurricular activities as well like  some of the things that you do because obviously in the time that I've known you which is I don't  know it's been a good sort of year year and a bit also I think we we started sort of you know  we met on um you know FPL Nims show as well The Late Night show which was a lot of fun oh my God  the shits and giggles you know during that time as well um for those that um d

on't know yeah Ellie  and I met on um on Nims show which was The Late Show which is so bloody hilarious because it was  early morning for me but obviously it was late it was like super late for you because of the time  zones obviously and it was like moderately okay in in the UK um but um yeah so it's been it's  been about a year year and a bit or so but um in that that time you've sent me so many videos and  like just photos of you doing like just climbing and it's just amazing oh my God I than

k you um  yeah so I got into raw climbing in March of 2021 uh my husband got me into it and I just got like  super obsessed with it it's like one of my main personality traits now apart from Chelsea and my  dog um and yeah so this video is from this past weekend I was climbing for 5 hours in the climbing  gym like it was a little bit crazy um but it was this one I'm super proud of because it was a dyo  so the holds that you start with are actually like pretty bad you can't really tell from the v

ideo  but they're like pretty bad holds and then you have to jump up and then catch the the second  folds um and it's not typically my strong suit so I was really happy that I was able to get  that done and I just like love climbing I think it's such a fun um physical activity but also  mentally it's super challenging as well and trying to figure out how you're going to do something  because everybody's body is different so what works for me might not work but for somebody else  and trying to li

ke figure it out as kind of like a puzzle um so I love climbing love reading as well  I've read a ton of books this year um and playing with my dog yeah oh my gosh so cute so cute I love  like all the uh the random voice notes and things around um just going for a walk this is what's  going on um yeah honestly just going for a walk and then you hear me like my dog's like Arie no no  so guys like switching to Spanish so good um but um yeah how cool and you know what I think when  you suggested it

to me as well I had um broken my toe like shortly before I think when you know you  sent me a couple of videos and and I was like yeah I should really go and check out where my local  one is and see if I can give it a go as well but i' broken my toe and I was like I don't know if  I'm going to be able to do this with a broken toe so yeah it's it's properly healed now it's been  it's been a while so I reckon I'm going to be able to give it a go during the uh the Christmas  holidays or you know t

ry and just try it out um I'm probably not going to be anywhere near as good  as that not anytime soon anyway but good on you that's so awesome um thank you so much so the game  week I think it's probably a good time to jump on what the hell's been going on with this game week  um before you know I've got your team as well but before we jump into team I was going to just show  everyone um so sorry for everyone that's listening on Spaces there's just I mean you've seen this on  on Twitter already

um basically it's everyone's transfers and benches and just the cluster [ __ ]  of this game week it's you know I think um Mohan messaged in the chat saying you know gameweek 11  stranger things it is literally stranger things it's just so bizarre but um so Adam from above um  average FPL he had taken out doku and brought in foden which is good because I mean like foden got  some returns there but we know how bad Liverpool like in in terms of returns how bad that was for  Liverpool but that's i

nsane that is insane like just how bad this game week has been in terms of  points um yeah any sort of initial thoughts you know just on you know I think this was um this  was this was hilarious as well like so you know on um for those that are listening um some of the  benches right like this was a great week to bench boost because there's like five points nine points  12 points from cabore it's insane like how bad this game week has been I mean this person Optimus  Prime um trippier's nine poi

nts benched Archer's nine points benched cabore is nine points bench  what the [ __ ] I didn't think that I saw any benches worse than mine because I have 18 points  on my bench I have lels and Archer um and to be fair like I was always going to bench Archer  like I was never going to play him above any of my players and I was like a bit hesitant about  going for a double Newcastle defense because I did play trip here um but it's just like what is going  on like the and I feel like this has just

been a recurring theme for me this season and maybe for  a lot of people listening as well like I look at my team and I feel like it looks so strong and I  have good players but they're not returning and then the most unexpected players are the ones  who are returning so it's really been a tough season for me so far oh I think you know what it's  been really bizarre all around um you know I love this one from um Andrew um FPL Point Break it's  literally the epitome of what has been going on thi

s game week like I I woke up on um on Sunday  and I had points in my team and I got so excited I think I posted about it as well saying yay I  got points in my team you know I had like Bowen and um I had Moma and a couple of other players  who returned as well and and I was so like happy to see that cuz I've had a pretty [ __ ] couple of  game weeks as well um but this time round you know it's yeah it's just been strange like waking up  this morning and then seeing that you know Villa had lost 2

-n to Forest and that you know it was  1-1 for Liverpool and Lon like what the actual [ __ ] I I just couldn't believe it I couldn't  believe it you know I think I woke up really early this morning and I just looked at the score and  put my phone back down and I was like yeah I think I just need to go to bed again like I'm not I'm  not subscribing to this today what on Earth maybe they're still playing is what I thought I know but  that's the thing like these these games that you think surely Vi

lla win and surely Liverpool bag  a couple of goals in that game and no it wasn't anything close in oh I was so upset because I had  sold Louis Diaz like I had him as a differential for weeks and he did nothing and then I sold  him for sah and now Sal's not done anything and he went and got the points I was like oh you've  got make it up like you couldn't make it up and this is what I mean could make it up seriously  it was just one of those and I thought I don't know like I don't know what I wa

s expecting  um from the game we but FPL go this tweet was just basically the the sentiments that everyone's  feeling I think um so FPL goat said truly a game week from hell this game week so harand blanked  Alvarez blanked Wilson blanked sacka blanked no Arsenal clean sheet no City clean sheet burn injen  off Watkins blank drb blank no Villa clean sheet Salah blank oh my God I'm still going it's like  I'm I'm out of breath now Darwin blank simic cast bench no Liverpool clean sheet like just pis

s off  I know and I was I was so upset because I brought in simcast thinking like oh yeah surely like I  thought I was being smart like starting starting Liverpool Defender for like 3.9 mil no no that it  couldn't be oh my God it's so bad so bad anyway we will swiftly move on and I've got your team on  my screen and what I'll do is for everyone that's listening I will post um I'll post your team as  well so yeah tell us tell us about your team so hopefully you can see the screen as well and yeah

  tell us um tell us who you've got in your team and um yeah how it's been yeah how it's been this  week so far I'm really sorry I'm making you do this it's like I'm making you relive the horror of  you know the last couple of days and it's not even over I know and to those of you who are listening  on Twitter space is like my face right now is like that Meme of the kid that's just like with the  neck back in the teeth like um so yeah um where do I even begin I had Ariel in goal um didn't keep 

a clean sheet I'm like a little bit worried about my goalkeeper position but I don't feel that  I have the transfers to focus on goals so he's going to stay in for a couple of more weeks yeah  and then in my defense I had cash who did nothing definitely didn't see Aston Villa losing that game  tripier got me nine points and then simic came on and of course blocked lel's off of my bench that  had nine points um then Saka and Salah did nothing Holland also did nothing um the only thing for  me was

that I was like at least Salah also did nothing because if he like went and bagged and I  captain Holland I would have been even more upset the only Shining Light in my team was Bowen who  scored and I still have Madison and Palmer left to play today Cole Palmer is kind of my rogue  differential pick and was basically how I fit Salah into my team and even though Chelsea have  really difficult fixtures on paper I went for him because I actually feel that Chelsea played  better against teams in t

he top six to 10 like a team that's not going to just sit back and  defend because that's where Chelsea struggle against the teams that we should be beating  because they're just going to sit back and we don't know how to break them down yeah but against  Spurs I do expect them to be a bit more open um or against any of these like teams that are going  to want to attack as well so Co Palmer for me has looked at the heart of anything that Chelsea have  been doing well in terms of the attack yeah

so I'm like praying that he get something for me um  because that would be a massive differential yeah huge huge and you know I've got a like a a really  good um data visual um from fad who's um who's in the chat um and and that's a um that's between  Sterling and Palmer so we'll we'll take a look at that in a m as well um but yeah it's just been  it's been such a bizarre game week honestly like I couldn't I couldn't even explain like and the  thing is most people have also had three at the back

as well so where they then you know have um  maybe archer in you know in first bench they would typically get Arch like they would get the first  bench off right um but in the case of playing three at the back it's so deceiving like you look  at it and you sort of go ah okay I'm getting a twoo celeba or a two in my case you know I had  Gabriel on the bench and I've still got Gabriel by the way I've had Gabriel from like game week one  it's so annoying and he's like the gift that keeps giving as

well like you expect you expect them to  I mean this week I wasn't expecting clean sheet points or anything like that I benched Gabriel  because they were playing Newcastle but um yeah you know like there's so many there's been so much  bench Jam in general as well and you know those that played um four at the back and and didn't  have you know um one of their players playing yeah good good on you you're probably getting lel's  off your bench or you're getting another you know nine pointer from

a you know a Newcastle Defender  because a lot of people have got you know double Newcastle defense as well so yeah so annoying  so annoying but you know I love um I love that you got Madison still I love that you got Madison  because um I don't you know I don't have any Spurs players yeah and I'm actually like I'm  I'm feeling like a bit regretful like I transferred Sun out and now I'm thinking should  I have transfer Sun out like I'm trying to maybe look for a way back for him into my team um

but  I just didn't have the money and I know you have Gordon and that's one of the other players  that I have my eye on and I really want to find a way to fit him into my team and I don't  know ideally I would upgrade palmer but I just don't have the money in the bank right now  um so I would have to downgrade somebody and I don't know I'm really stuck yeah yeah it'll  be good to um yeah we we'll talk through sort of transfer plans and you know what we're  thinking at the moment um but I'll sho

w you my team so um firstly I think 39 points is pretty  awesome you know but when I woke up this morning and saw that I only had an extra five points  from what I went to bed thinking I had right so I got I got the points like the the middle  sort of crew um that I've got like in my team so bow and matoma and Gorden and so you know  when I saw these points come through and and you know Tripp's points as well I was like oh  fantastic I've got points in the team and you know yeah should be okay I

've still got you know  Salah to go but that City match right I could not believe what the [ __ ] was going on like  that was insane 61 and not a single return from Harland it reminded me of when I think it was  last season when Liverpool beat Bournemouth I think it was like 9 nil or something and Salah  didn't get a single goal or assist it was like same Vibes and I know Holland did get taken off at  halime but still at halim they were three nil up I think um and not a single go or assist I was

  like you've got to be joking me like seriously I'm thinking about whacking this guy out of my  team I'm so over it yeah yeah well my immediate reaction you know I I didn't get to watch um most  of the match because like the matches are on like stupid o'clock over here um but most of my um  like when I sort of caught up on the highlights I just couldn't believe what I was seeing and then  harand coming off you know obviously um at halim as well I was just like you just couldn't you just  could

not make this up it was just reminded me of like the you know the havit you know situation  from I think it was last season or the season before that or something like that was it 7-0  or something like that and then there was the you know the Bournemouth and Liverpool fixture as  well I was like you just can't make this up and there were people that had triple Captain Harland  as well can you believe that like triple Captain harand this game week ah I don't know it was the  game week for it lik

e on paper it made a lot of sense like it did make a lot L of sense you're  thinking Bournemouth is coming off of a massive Hull I tend to wait until double game weeks for  my triple Captain but I could see like where the thinking was was just super unfortunate yeah no  it's it's absolutely insane um so we've got a few more people um in the chat on YouTube as well  great to see you all Marcus lovely to have you um akman Shamil you know great to see you Malik Fran  um yena great to see you I caug

] I've obviously got Archer  on on the bench there but there was no way I was going to get Archer points um it was just not  going to happen I think like with simic cast like coming on and getting that one pointer it was like  yeah that's yeah it's just not happening cash zero points like so again you know when when you like  someone like me who in this region anyway when you wake up in the morning if you've not caught  the games all you see is a score line right and then you just or you see you

r points or lack of  points and you sort of go did they not play are they really injured or what happened did they like  what happened and you you speculate for the first couple of seconds right then you open up like  whatever football app that you're using and you try and work out what the [ __ ] happened and then  you see all the atrocities of kind of like the the game weekend scrolling through in my bed and and  like I said this morning I was just like 1 one Liverpool Luton what the hell and

then I think I  saw like the shots that Liverpool had taken they' taken 24 Shots at goal 24 Shots that's mad like  how is it possible you know and I think that I'm not a Darwin owner so I was worried about Darwin  like hauling in this game week as well um and I saw that he had a lot of shots um he took had  taken a lot of shots and his underlying stats are looking good he had nine shots at goal and  I think there was like three big chances missed that's huge that's that's a lot yeah yeah um I  I

'm grateful as a non Dar owner but oh well see I was I was thinking about bringing in Darwin  and now I'm like it's all the recency biased right like you see how your team is going and and  then immediately you're thinking oh maybe not you know or the the the players that you think about  sort of bringing in and you're like oh yeah maybe not I'm not too sure about this anymore um but  look the rest of the team you know like sack's two points salah's two points I have to admit like  after harand

blanked I was really happy that Salah didn't do anything either because um I obviously  I wanted Liverpool to win you know for me Club comes first and I think it's the same for you as  well being a you know huge Chelsea supporter and um so I really wanted you know Liverpool to win  but ideally it wouldn't have been Salah that was um hauling because obviously there was a lot of  Salah captains as well so and there's me thinking going into this game week the captaincy swings  are going to be huge

but yeah anyway I wonder how many people captained any Spurs players  anyone like did anyone Captain a Spurs player um give me a thumbs up or something on Spaces or  on you know just put it in the chat or something if anyone Captain a Spurs player cuz yeah there's  hope for you and I'm absolutely [ __ ] it because I don't have any Spurs players in my team I took  out I took out Madison to bring in sacka and yeah sacka did nothing so yeah yeah You' got both  Aral do have good fixtures coming up t

hough I have yeah I have Madison and SAA yeah I do have  both on paper it's a good team yeah but I I saw somebody oh sorry I could you off no um I saw  somebody on Twitter say maybe we should just go like trip your captain and I was like honestly not  a bad shout like I'm considering it after the mess that happened this week with Captain C yeah yeah  um there's someone in the chat I just saw that had triple Captain Harland um so shashant you yeah  your triple Captain Harland prediction for today

how it's gone this game week Chelsea winning one  nil Reese James Winner oh my gosh all right let's let's um let's have a chat about yeah let's have  a chat about Chelsea and um yeah your thoughts on that you know um so basically I've got on the  screen screen at the moment just a you know a nice visual of some of the attack um that Chelsea have  so you know obviously you did a really good stream with um Sam from FPL family um I really enjoyed  that today it was nice to kind of hear a bit more

detail around what you think and how you know how  you think the game week's going well the the match is going to go and then Sam obviously is a is is a  Tottenham supporter so yeah really good to kind of you know get the insights there but um what I've  got on the screen and I'll I'll Host this um on um on uh spaces as well I've got Chelsea's attackers  and you know well at the moment obviously Sterling's looking pretty good um you know from  a a stats point of view and obviously these are only

up until you know ahead of gameweek 11 so  it doesn't include it won't include tomorrow's match of course um so a lot could change between  you know now and then and you know post uh post uh uh Spurs match as well so yeah tell us tell  us what you think about the attack you know at the moment cuz you've got Palmer in the team  yeah I do have Palmer in my team it was mostly as an enabler for Cella but the reason that I  did bring him in was because I feel that he's at the heart of Chelsea's atta

ck when Chelsea are  playing well he's also on penalties for Chelsea which we've seen which I think is massive when  I brought him in he was at 4.9 uh million yeah and he is starting every game so um this uh image  here like it shows that maybe his average minuts are 53 because he wasn't starting um the first  couple of games of the Season since he was our last uh transfer that we brought in yeah but uh  I think he's one of the first names on the team Sheet now um he's played across the attack i

n the  10 on the right wing he's gone to the left as well um and in every position he's just looked really  really strong the link of play is good us your AIO oh can you hear me wait hello can you hear me yeah yeah I think um it  just dropped out a little bit hello yeah oh can you hear me now yeah yeah you're there yeah  everything good yeah cool okay I don't know what happened sorry um so the the thing with  chalsea is that we've been creating a lot of chances but we just haven't been putting t

hem  away so if you look at the expected goals for example Chelsea have won almost every game  on expected goals because we're creating so many opportunities but we're just not putting  the ball on the back of the net so that's been Chelsea's real Achilles heel um Raheem Sterling  I think for FPL for me just isn't worth the price because he can be Chelsea's best attacker on his  day then he can also be really inconsistent and a bit frustrating um it just depends on the  day he's having when he's

having one of his on days he's unplayable and he'll dribble past  every player he'll slot the ball home um and then on an off day the attack kind of just  dies down a bit because he'll dribble into players um one thing about Raheem Sterling is  that sometimes he can be having a really poor game but he's still going to get a goal because  he's one of Chelsea's only goal scorers at the moment um but for FP I just don't think it's  worth the risk um so yeah that's Chelsea's attack yeah and what's

your thoughts on um like  what's going on with and and cucko like at the moment yeah so he had a really bad injury I think  it was ACL but I'm not sure uh he needed surgery um so he had a fantastic pre-season and he was  linking up really well with Nico Jackson as well in preseason he was just looking phenomenal and  I think part part of the reason why Chelsea had a slow start to the season is because he got injured  in the last game of preseason the week before the Premier League was meant to s

tart and we kind of  had to scramble to figure out a new way to go so good so yeah we looked phenomenal in preseason  um so my understanding is that he's I think he's actually started grass training originally  he was meant to be back by like beginning of January maybe that's been brought forward a bit  now but I would still not expect to see him for probably at least a month um oh wow okay I'm going  to monitor yeah that's just a that's just a guess because I think he is starting uh training wi

th  the team again yeah but I think the team will the um medical staff and coaching staff will  hopefully are on the side of colge because the last thing you want to do is reenter the player  um when're just coming back yeah definitely and you guys have had so many injuries right there's  just been backto back something or another going on um so do you reckon like re James is going to  play like I'm going to just um um change the the graphic there to Defenders and for those that are  listening o

n Spaces I just posted up um couple of the the visuals there on um Chelsea's attack  and defense that um uh fad has um put together so please go and yeah follow for he's doing some  really good you know um visuals and and data and yeah love it it's really really nicely done um  should we be thinking about Defenders obviously like Reese James I mean we started off the the  season very much thinking yeah we're going to need chilwell and James right and and it's been  like that for the last couple

of you know couple of Seasons as well just with how attacking  they are but yeah what are your thoughts like because obviously Chelsea's fix you know I'll  put up like the fixture run soon as well as we sort of think about our upcoming transfers but  Chelsea's fixture run does change in the next sort of five game weeks anyway um but yeah what  are your thoughts on the defense yeah so um I do think that we're seeing more or less the same  Defenders being picked Levi coell um is a pretty good shou

t if you want a cheap Defender who um  has the possibility of getting assists because he does play some really nice long balls but I  don't see Chelsea keeping clean sheets in the Run of fixtures that we have so if you're looking to  bring in a Chelsea Defender I would wait until the fixtures turn I think it's like middle of December  we have some like really really nasty game weeks coming up yeah and with Reese James and Ben two  will it's just so unfortunate I honestly think the last time they

've been fit together for like a  decent run of games was when we won the Champions League in 2021 yeah people don't realize but it's  been if not one is out injured the other one's out injured and it's so frustrating because for me  they're two of our best players when they're on the pitch especially what they bring to the attack  but they're also really strong Defenders um and so to not have both of them is just a massive massive  loss for Chelsea if I had to predict I think ver Spurs Reese Ja

ing who won the penalty and say like no Palmer's our designated penalty  taker he's going to take it uh and the fact that Palmer stood up for himself as well Rahe Sterling  doesn't have the best record with penalties either so I'm personally glad that Palmer's taking  the penalty but I think after that um I would be shocked to see if anybody other than Palmer  is taking penalties unless he's of course not on the pitch and I believe pot also reinforced  the message like yeah we have designated pe
