Kawai Sama - Anime Recaps

This gamer boy is transferred into the world where  everything is decided by games. There is a team of 4 in an online game, and they are perfect. No  one can defeat them, and they don’t make a single mistake. No one in this group has a name; and  they are known as Blank. Sora and Shiro are the ones controlling 4 characters. Each one of them  is able to control 2 characters at a time. They get a random message from someone, and that person  knows about Sora and Shiro being Blank. There is a link
in the message that leads to a chess game.  Shiro is really good at chess; she defeated the program that was better than grandmasters 20 times  in a row. The guy playing chess with her plays a bit differently and is making unpredictable  moves. Shiro becomes confused, and Sora helps her out. After an intense game of chess, the  siblings manage to get the victory. They get a message asking if they are satisfied with the  world they live in. Shiro replies by saying, 'This world doesn’t have a clea
r goal or a set  of rules; people are making random moves and don’t know what they are doing. On top of that,  so many things are restricted in this world; Shiro thinks the world they live in is the wrong  world for them.' They get another message saying, 'There is another world with a fixed set of  rules and a clear goal.' Shiro becomes eager to experience this life, and something weird  happens. They are confronted by a guy named Tet, who takes them to a new world, Disboard. In  this world, ev
erything is decided by games, and there are some rules to follow: Everything  will be decided by games; the challenged guy gets to make the rules of the game; rule  breakers will immediately lose if caught; murdering people is not allowed; two people  should bet something with equal value as a prize for the winner, and so on. They find themselves  in a place called Elkia. We see a game of poker between Stephanie Dola and Kurami Tseru. This  is a poker game to determine the next king; the previou
s king wants the next king to be  the world’s best gambler. Because of that, Stephanie cannot be the ruler, even though she is  the previous king’s granddaughter. Sora challenges a lady for a pouch of gold; if she wins, she can  do whatever she wants with them. The lady accepts, and Sora wins by cheating. The rule said that  rule breakers will lose when caught; if they can cheat without being caught, it's fine. Sora gets  a room for him and Shiro for 4 nights. They notice that Kurami is cheating
and inform Stephanie  secretly. They go to their room and talk about his fantasy world. Sora is enjoying this world and  is prepared for the challenge that awaits him. Stephanie meets Shiro and Sora; she blames them  for her loss, saying she could’ve won if she knew how Kurami cheated. Sora badmouths  her and her grandfather to make her mad; he tells her that she isn’t good enough and she  deserved to lose. This makes her even more mad, and she scolds them even more. Sora suggests  that they pl
ay a game of rock-paper-scissors with a special rule: Sora can only pick paper. If  Sora wins with anything except for paper, the game is going to be a draw. If he loses, he will tell  her how Kurami cheated, and Stephanie can command him to kill himself. But if he wins, Stephanie  should do as he says. If they tie, Sora will give her a hint of how Kurami cheated, and she can do a  little favor for him. Stephanie thinks for a while and goes with scissors, and Sora goes with rock.  The game is a
draw, and as a favor, Sora asks Stephanie to fall in love with him. With Stephanie  in love with him, he can have her inherited money and a permanent place to live in. Stephanie didn’t  want to, but she is forced to accept whatever request Sora makes. Shiro congratulates Sora  for finally getting a girlfriend, but she feels betrayed at the same time. Sora once said that  he doesn’t need anyone except her, but he has a girlfriend now. These two are overly dramatic but  they love each other as wel
l. We see all three of them in the Elkia palace. Stephanie gives Shiro  a bath, and Shiro tells her that they came from another world. Stephanie believes them as she  heard about summoning magic being real. Later, we see the three of them on a balcony, and  Stephanie explains about this world in detail. So, this world has 16 different races, and they are  ranked according to their magical powers. Some of them are elves, old deus, and so on. Imanity  is the race that Stephanie and the people of E
lkia belong to; this race cannot use magic at  all. Stephanie’s grandfather wanted to portray Imanity as the strongest race even though they  couldn’t use magic. Imanity was on the verge of extinction, and Stephanie’s grandpa had  to wager the race and gamble. Unfortunately, he lost because Imanity couldn’t use or detect  the use of magic. All Stephanie wants to do is protect Elkia and Imanity. Sora is impressed  that Stephanie wants to protect her kingdom, but he tells her it is impossible. Kur
ami comes  to the palace to claim the throne; she reminds Stephanie how she lost and talks rudely. Sora  arrives there and sends her off; he decides to challenge her and be the king of Elkia. Sora rushes to the castle and challenges her for the throne just in time. She accepts his  challenge. Sora tells everyone that Kurami, being an Imanity, is taking help from an elf. He  points out her elf friend in public, and Kurami defends herself, saying Sora is falsely accusing  her of cheating. The elf
leaves the place, and they set rules for their battle. Sora challenged  her, so she could make the rules. Since she lost her partner and cannot cheat anymore, she decides  not to play poker. She tells him that she will decide on a game and tell him later. Meanwhile,  Stephanie was really surprised to know that Kurami was taking help from an elf. Only people  belonging to Imanity could be the king of Elkia, but other races want to rule on it. Sora thinks  Kurami is being used by the elves to take
control over Imanity. Meanwhile, Kurami thinks Stephanie  got help from another race to protect her country. After a while, they are approached by Kurami, and  she decides on a game. She tells them that she will not betray Imanity; she will take the elves'  help to expand Imanity’s territory and betray them later on. She tells them that she is planning to  use elves for the protection of Imanity. She asks Sora to withdraw as she is sure to win and wants  to avoid unnecessary battle. Sora and Sh
iro love to defeat overconfident opponents, so they don’t  back off. The battle begins inside an old house. The game to be played is chess, but this game is  a bit different. All the pieces have their own will and will function based on commands. Shiro  is really good at chess, so Sora leaves the job to her. Shiro plays chess like she usually does,  while Kurami makes unusual moves. In this chess, pieces can move wherever they want as they have  their own will. Shiro, however, believes that she
can win by sticking to the rules. She tries to  make a strategic move by sacrificing her pieces, but her pieces hesitate to sacrifice themselves.  Shiro isn't able to play like she usually does and loses hope. Sora comes in command and motivates  the chess pieces like soldiers. He asks them to battle and defeat every single one of the  opponent’s pieces. Sora realizes that this wasn’t a game of chess; this was like a war. Even though  Sora figured that out, Kurami uses black magic on her pieces
to eliminate Sora’s pieces. Kurami’s  queen is about to kill Sora’s queen, and Sora uses the magic of love to manipulate the queen.  The queen changes sides, and with the queen’s influence, Kurami’s knight changes side too.  And the game seems winnable for Sora again. Sora continues to manipulate the queen, and  she takes control of other pieces on Kurami’s side. Sora tells Stephanie that he is going to  win without fighting. Stephanie remembers the words of her grandfather; he knew that Imanity
was the weakest race but believed that someone who could win without fighting would appear and  save Imanity. He believed that the person would be really intelligent and extraordinary. Stephanie  thinks Sora and Shiro are the ones her grandpa was talking about. Sora tells her that the world he  came from is very harsh compared to this world, so he has a lot of experience in wars compared to  her. He corners Kurami and wins the game. Kurami is surprised to see Imanity winning over magic;  she t
hinks Sora used some kind of trick. Sora makes it clear that he didn’t cheat; he liked  Kurami, but the one thing she said disappointed him. Kurami told him that she needs Elf’s help  to win, but this was wrong. Sora believes that Imanity is unique and can survive on its own,  without other magical creatures. Nevertheless, Blank won the battle, and they were about to get  their crown in front of everyone. Sora asks if there can be two kings because Sora alone couldn’t  have won the game. He want
s Shiro to be a part of it. Well, it wasn’t possible for there to be  two kings, so Sora and Shiro battle over who the next king will be. Sora told them that whoever  wins two games in a row will be the king. They continue to play, but nobody wins. Later, we see  them both wearing a crown together. Meanwhile, Stephanie arrives there and tells them that  they have to do a lot of work as the new king. The main problem was that there were spies among  Imanity. To make sure there was no spy among th
em, Sora asks them all to lose against him in a game  of rock-paper-scissors. They lose against him, and Sora commands them not to spy, and everyone  has to follow it. He tells everyone how all 16 races fought years ago, and all of them survived.  Imanity was found all over the world, but it has shrunk down to Elkia now. Sora tells them that  Imanity doesn’t need any weapons; Imanity uses their intellect to fight. Sora is confident  that Imanity can win any battle and declares war on all the rac
es throughout the world. While  Blank is returning to their room, Stephanie asks them why they waged war against everyone. Sora  tells her that they recently defeated an Elf, and other races must blame each other for  backing up Imanity. Until the truth is revealed, other countries will fight, and they will live in  peace. As they were talking, Tet arrives there and congratulates them. Sora and Shiro thank him for  bringing them into this world, but Tet simply did it to satisfy his ego. Tet neve
r lost a single  game, but he lost against Blank. Now he wants a rematch, so he is keeping them in his world. If  Sora is able to defeat all 16 races, he gets the chance to challenge Tet again, and Tet wishes good  luck to him for the future journey and leaves.
