so there are nearby areas there in the Sierra that are going to see several feet of snow covering cities homes and Roads that is creating some hazardous conditions there are several ski resorts that are closed and cron Forest Teresa aaso shows us how this storm is impacting the Sierra from wide out conditions to wind speeds clocking in past 150 mph this storm is packing the punch it promised uh we've sent over 50 fire engines and a couple hundred different uh individuals to various locations we'
ve also sent swiftwater rescue teams for some of the areas that might see Downstream impacts Chris dargan a spokesperson with the California office of emergency services doubling down encouraging Californians to play it safe and stay home as this weekend is expected to bring even worse weather uh like we said these are extremely dangerous conditions wi out conditions 10 plus feet of snow in some areas these are not conditions that are passable by your average individual so uh hunker down if you'
re if you're in the snowy areas if you're not uh just cancel or postpone your plans do not try to travel in these really dangerous conditions take a look at this on I80 in Nevada County stretching over the Doner Summit slow goinging as trucks got stuck and calr Crews stepped into help I mean yeah you can see the wind it is absolutely insane right now uh I mean the camera's shaking my tripod's falling over uh it is pretty crazy out here at Palisades Tahoe the resort slammed with snow forcing oper
ations to shut down Friday to reach 145 mil hour wind gust at our Summit uh the record is 199 miles per hour but we could potentially beat that today uh but it is really blustery up here uh don't really recommend coming up here at all Le says that for the rest of the weekend it will be a wait and see as the conditions are predicted to get even worse worst before getting any better Teresa stasio cron for news
