sage kind of teased at we do have some new things to show oh we do we have a brand new quilt and it's a it is you're gonna it's a showstopper I think I think it's a showstop periodic perfect for many of you like quilts of Valor and such of that so stay tuned for that absolutely and I I think one of the things I like about it and we'll talk about it again when we show it is that it is a doable show stopper I love absolutely I love that part of it well as always we love sharing all of the exciting
things that we have here at Hen and chick studio and last week if you happen to catch our live we showcased a brand new kit uh called um Spangled the pattern is called Spangled and it's using Kim deals scraps of kindness fabrics and they are flying out the door mind you so if that is something that you're interested in and just to kind of give you an idea I mean patterns we'd love to say that quilts and fabrics are going to stay here forever but they don't and in fact as we were setting up this
morning um if you notice up above at this point is above your head it really is more of above your head uh that is a project called floral Essence Aurora Knights is the pattern and a floral meaning f-l-o-r-a Essence floral Essence um there's one kit left just one one kit left and and I thought oh and we don't happen to have it on the screen this morning we that wasn't part of our plan it just is back there yeah and we've enjoyed we've turned it and we've enjoyed having that quilt so this is jus

w much you know our state fair is the best state fair that's right that's that's right and so if you're not familiar with the State Fair movie or musical yes that is a line from a song in the movie yeah musical I'm not just saying that to both but that's right I believe it absolutely now uh you're thinking what because what the heck is our little honest stick get it it's honest because everything you eat at this Iowa State Fair is on a stick right okay so um when you come in person for the all I
owa shop pop you will get a free Block pattern this is the kit to make the block or hen and chicks Studios block and I did not grab that particular card again we have limited numbers of these and so that is again you can purchase all Iowa shop pop fabric prior to June 1st it just can't leave the store until June 1st so we have lots of orders on hold um but anyway so this is the block kit and maybe you can get it up there a little farther sorry it has the trees and then the the cream and the blue
words okay now what do we have left for fabric not much not much we have the um this is what we're calling the attractions this is the Iowa State Fair attractions and um I have not cut this down into fat quarters but that's the only thing we've got left I don't think there's enough to sell a yard of that and then um it's a very small scale um fabric if you haven't and like for example I mean the detail though can you see right there can we see that yeah let me go around the there is a John Deer
e tractor that hauls people around to the different attractions and it's right here and I just love that they they were able to get that detail in there it's one of the things if you look at it close you see more things on it yes and the next one honey go ahead I already showed the camera okay and Jamie you and your family are Avid campers and have been there for years years and years and years and again what a fun small scale um uh it is just like another town it's a city it's a community yes i
t is yes and then of course we've got which one are we going to next cows cows Okay so we've got little cows again you can see by the by fingers yeah I was gonna say by the look at your fingers and uh is it chicken or Ducks yeah that one's got a duck uh some kind of a goose and a pig yeah okay then which one now the horses yep okay the horses have a fence and a pot like a dairy cow in there and again those ones are both available in a yard cut or effect and then we have still have some of the tr
ees left which is a really nice green it really is this is going to go with so many different things this is just a nice basic um piece yeah and you could use it for other things obviously not just with the Iowa State correct fabric yes okay so those are the Iowa State Fair Fabrics that go with the all-iowa shot pop last week we also unveiled the uh row by row block and we didn't bring the pattern over except we did bring and I'm going to grab it right here okay here's your and um the picture at
least the pictures on here yeah uh so again this is the kit okay so a couple of things the row by row experience starts June 1st and goes through August 31st it is Nationwide I have not seen the number of shops all of the shops are all located um um found on their website and we'll make sure that that link is being promoted um throughout the next few weeks uh if you come into the store you will get a pattern to make our row which is this and I have not officially named it yet um that's our row
9 by 36 inches and then we do have again limited number of kits now I found out yesterday okay that if you purchase the kit I can mail you the pattern in the kit but I cannot mail you the pattern separately um until after the event is over and they and they give the all clear which I don't know exactly what that date is so the pattern is free if you come in the store or if you purchase the kit or if you purchase the kit online it's also free and you would get it and we would ship that to you so
and again um but I think it's going to be kind of fun kind of fun to have that so fun we you chose yours it's kind of it's Lively oh it's happy and happy we choose happy around here every single day and I love it I love it I love it so Lots going on this summer we certainly hope tell us are you planning on going to either the all Iowa shop pop or the row by row we'd love to see in the comments um you know who's who's planning on getting out there and doing a little shop popping yeah okay all rig
ht so today our focus is going to be on um and actually I see it on my list of things I did not write down the one we're actually showing oh yeah um but that's okay the new one but it's a great time to revisit some of the wonderful patriotic fabrics and patterns that we have we always have something around that is patriotic and I I think because number one we're proud of being uh Americans there's just something about it that's always heartwarming no matter what it is there are different holiday
s um to celebrate we've got Memorial Day we've got Flag Day the Fourth of July is coming up and red white and blue are just always fun and inspiring that way of course there are other groups that are constantly working to take care of our veterans and our veterans and our our current military service members yeah I've got a family full of them now so that's right yeah and you know and I I it's just one of those things it's always a nice way to honor um any of those people with uh patriotic quilt
s and so people are making quotes of Valor quilts I don't know that anything that we have is specifically for quilts of Valor but we can tell you that um there's so many ways if you decide you really need it for quilt of Valor to enlarge or add a border several of them are already meet the standard qualifications for the sizing yeah absolutely we would be happy to help you if you need help with that okay so let's start with um uh star angle okay let's go ahead and start with that one and gosh I
just grabbed this kit down yeah all right so the quilt is actually up here on the top and it is uh here's the black and white version of that particular pattern it is a large quilt um as it finishes at 39 and a half by 51 and a half so not I shouldn't say large it is a nice wall size um quilt now this particular fabric kit and can you see all these beautiful red white and blues there is X extra fabric here is a prime example of we wanted it to be Scrappy but we weren't going to cut just little b
its and pieces of all those patriotic Fabrics so you do it's a 96.95 kit but you get some beautiful flowers yep I'll double check yep I think we're still there yep again this could be one that less the outside print of the Border you could enlarge it yes um if you wanted to enlarge it you would have to consider your border your board restrictions on that or using the Border in a different way or fashion this is a free pattern also is for a download on our website I don't know that we didn't get
that one but we did get a different free pattern that we showed there already yeah as well yeah so there is there is that particular one thing too high they want to bear in mind when let's talk just quickly we touch on it several times but that is one thing that we I think really take pride in is making sure that we give you enough fabric if not extra fabric and and as we've gotten better because we I think we continue to improve we are noting what is in for instance that one with the fat quarte
rs so if you didn't like that particular one um but you said oh there's X number of fat quarters in it then you would know how you can apply it to a different pattern yeah so yeah that's another thing to keep in mind that most of the kits that we're going to be showing you could put the fabric in a different one if you didn't like the particular pattern that we are showing yeah and I'm just going to make a note for those of you who are regular Watchers that apparently we do have some spamming go
ing on and I cannot take care of that immediately um so just ignore it don't respond and we will try to take care of that as we get off delete and that kind of thing uh you know I always say they just need to get a real job and so that we can keep um keep doing it but just please ignore anything that does not look like something that is normal at him maybe I'll just go take care of that can you can't I'll do that if you wanted to yeah I flip through some of the Star Spangled collection that is n
ot I wouldn't say um it's a a show stopper like some of the other Fabrics that are I have more things there it's more of a basic just great colors yeah like I like this print right here and I'll go take care of that very good thank you Jamie this particular piece is in the star Spang Gold collection It Is by Andover and again whether you see it here individually or whether you just go on our website and look at all of the Fabrics okay so the next um quilt on the list is called Great American and
I'm going to get behind the camera again and see if I can rotate just a little and I'll point it this direction I'm going to hold it all over here for a minute okay so this quilt right here is called the Great American Summer Fringe and that is a wonderful pattern that hi Kyle oh that he's bringing more boxes there's always something new thank you um the Great American Summer Fringe quilt uses The Fringe pattern and then it also has um uh let's see if we can get that there's The Fringe pattern
for you and then the quilt itself is a just a beautiful version it has a panel in it that is um we do sell that separately as well that we've cut up and put inside of The Fringe pattern to get a great um uh looking quilt and that quilt is 68 and a half by 83 and a fourth so it is um and um okay and then the other one I wanted to show you so over here you should be able to see it this is fireworks and it is a great quilt um it is a free downloadable pattern great for using up red white and blue s
craps and then we do have a batik kit featuring the red whites and blues there that you might want to make that particular um that particular quilt so it is it is I love that one yes absolutely beautiful so so we are Quilters by day um scam Fighters by night um all sorts of things um around here okay so um those are two things that are um absolutely wonderful there about the Patriotic right and um then let's see should we let's see oh I know which one I want to do okay okay I want to say that th
at's the the new one here let's do these two okay I got too many things these let's do this two okay so right here um and uh this is patriotic panel um and you can see that what we've done is we've featured a big quilt a big Motif cotton in the center and then uh surrounded it with other colors so I'm going to grab so here in this particular way you're grabbing what you want um that particular project is found in the project parade book which is from Peace Tree patterns and I'm going to flip it
over here so you can see the difference it looks but on the one on the back there it they used a panel yes and what Heidi is speaking to is that we use the larger scaled print in place of the panel so this is actually the print that we used in the center of that particular quilt and I'm going to hold hold that up it is this large uh flag and state land that I love fabric because if you cut this up you're going to get totally something different and so that's why we tried to feature it in that fa
bric another one that you could easily use in a center like that is something like this I love this piece and there isn't much left of this one either where it's got kind of images and words uh flag oh it is just a great piece and maybe Heidi even has a as you guys here together one like let's say you liked um the size of the but it's not quite large enough if you wanted to do quotes of Valor here's a great thing to throw in put that on the outside increase the final size something such as that
of the quilt and I think we have other pieces that are like that as well again there are so many different patriotic a couple other pieces that are used in that collection if you want to do um this is this one it just says Lambda land of the free home of the brave Liberty established 1776 love that one because it's this is the one one of the one nation yep and this is a Henry Glass One Nation as well then with those words with the Eagles and I know people love um using those different prints so
just some fun different oh oh yeah we're doing that and we did not make this into a store sample because we in order to get the kits kind of thing um so there is not but here let me go ahead I think it'll be easier if I take it out um so this is the free pattern okay so that is what you're gonna you get the kit for it does come with the panel um kind of thing which we don't have that one anymore and then all of the fabrics and there's just a couple of those left um as well because it's a very po
pular very popular and that one makes it too large enough it is already quilt of Valor sizes that is correct okay and I'm gonna just set that there so it doesn't fall off all right so I think at the moment we should unveil our new quilt the new one the new quilt let's see if I can get myself organized here and uh did we is it still back here no it's right here Heidi where did I miss it oh you're hiding it you're hiding it from me oh I love it isn't it okay that's how we see see what we want to s
ee right okay all right so I'm gonna kind of do a little set change here you are sneaky I was trying to tease with it but you know yeah okay I don't know I'm gonna go like this okay I'm airing it out okay okay are we ready yeah okay I'm gonna I'm gonna flip it around I can here we go let me see if we can get how it looks in there oh yes very good go go to your uh your left just a tiny bit yes it looks very good so what you're looking at right now and we'll get this scan up in a minute isn't it s
triking and Heidi can you go just slide it from we can't quite get the whole picture in so slide from side to side with the oh so okay so they can see the edge very yeah so go the other way yeah so we used to variety again this is Scrappy in a way it's larger but it's using lots of um you'll see white prints with some red and it does there is no right or wrong so I can turn it if that helps see anything differently and maybe bring it up Heidi and just show them that we've used several different
um collections of Breads in this uh yeah it was and the sparkle of Blues and a sparkle of blue and so were that uh let's see here the dice there we go I go this way so yes it's a variety of Collections and um certainly does make um different now they're wondering how big the uh the kit with the panel oh did we say that one the kid with the panel is 48 and a half by 66 for the Patriotic panel parade so 48 and a half by 66 I think that's just a little small if I recall for um yes but then they can
add a border and then of course this project uh do we have um grab that and that will tell us that that is making a that's 80 by 80 or 73 inches Square for the Patriotic faceted and we do have another version of this project in process and that's going to be fun to be able to see how the garden Society collection um in the teals and corals with a little bit of green in that one too how that is going to look compared to this and so when we get that one done we'll have another unveiling and compa
re but I think two of them yeah two of them but I think there's so many possibilities with this faceted pattern by Robin Pickens I love how her designs have uh let's say some strong visual yeah and and I think that's what at least before again with this one I'm going to note that it says on the product description which you will see if you click on it if you're on our website it does list I think there's 12 fat quarters of red 12-pack cards of white six fat quarters I can't remember exactly yep
12 red 12 white six blue and then a half yard of an additional red print and a 30 yard of additional white print and two thirds of yard for binding so you get all of these you know pieces and then all of the ones that are back here and and the pattern is included in that yep so uh some great opportunity for what you can do with that Lisa said quote of Valor minimum is 55 by 65 . very good thank you very much for helping us with that because we didn't have that yeah we didn't have that but defini
tely so if you go back to this one which I will say um again it's a fairly quick straightforward project great if you're looking for foragers coming up with the county fairs and that kind of stuff if you're into that around here that's big don't know whether you're watching from with that but great project that they could undertake right now um and Market but so we have the length on that one we just have to add a little bit of width to make it that's right so that's right you know there's ways
to make everything work absolutely now one week one project we didn't show I got sidetracked I got so excited that the project was here we did not talk about the USA did you get a fringe already uh we did talk about French yes while you were fighting fighting my sword yeah my shield out and protecting protecting n in chick Studio can we come up with a name we need a name uh anyway yeah we we digress okay so let's talk about this because I'm gonna grab it because it's so good it's so cute so this
is from my favorite um book called let's do lunch and is it on the floor yep oh yep I moved it there we go let me grab it okay so uh let's do lunch favorite table uh table runner book because it just the patterns are Timeless from Terry Atkinson and so always one of my favorites and no matter how we make them up I'm like oh I like that version and so this one has been very popular too and I'm not even sure ah there's like maybe one kit we did this one at least once if not twice and so it is jus
t a fun little project and uh can be found um the pattern can be found in here it's like this is a case where the pattern is not sold in the kit so I always read our our in our descriptions because it will tell you whether the pattern is included or not because after you know being here 11 and a half years we know a lot of you have this book and some people have two of them because they lost the first one that's right I mean so it's okay yep we've had that so um okay so there you go that is anot
her great little patriotic um project there for you to work on you're working on these quilts and you need um a wide back of course we love our Shannon cuddle wide bags especially um we know a lot of people when they're doing the quilt of Valor for somebody in the nursing home that cuddle has a thing just has some lushness and softness yes but we do have this one that is a way back at 108 I believe yeah and um you know this is if it is the kind of thing where you do not want to have to piece you
r back and want to be able to just have a nice wide this is a Great Patriotic this is from Timeless Treasures and I just think it's got enough shades of different Blues in it that it goes with a lot of stuff Heidi let's talk just real quickly like let's say you like that that can be used in the front of the quilt too oh absolutely you don't have to limit it too wide back only I think we we say a parameter on our box though oh I can't use that that's why that's right yeah why can't you and think
about borders so talk about adding water if you wanted to add a border to that then you don't even have to piece the borders yeah you just get to cut borders so absolutely usually thank you for that reasoning a little bit um bigger than our little that's right that's absolutely right that's absolutely right um well there let's see so we've got talked about Star Spangled we've talked about Great American One Nation we did oh we did you know let's show a couple of those fun ones we didn't show tha
t guy and then I also wanted to show the Tonga there are a couple Tonga ones like that were just um so as we at Fifty Nifty United States um you can sing that song Alabama Alaska Arizona Arkansas California that's right this has got it all it's got all the states and there's shapes and um and the words there's Iowa and there's we like that one when we got that one it's such a neat play on the red and the blue yeah it's not a bold and it does make me think um we will be unveiling a New Patriotic
Collection in a couple of weeks and it is and it's very fun as well and makes me think because it has a state thing as well all right and then here is just uh the Tonga this is a different bait uh batik that I think has potential it is it's sort of a flag but not a flag and I think that's what I like about it is that it has um uh fighting my yeah my Warriors that's all right and anyway there are some different ones this is I'm going to give you the SKU number one two two three five and it is on
our website as well um there's different ways again on our website we try to organize the fabrics for to make it easiest for you to find them so you can go to um shop all products cotton Fabrics and then there is a patriotic um section and so like all the fabric fabrics that we're talking about are in that patriotic section and so again there are different um pieces in the Tonga honor this is called honor um and I just like it because it again it's um and with a batik if you're not familiar ther

at we start to see people bring their tops in to quilt on the law firm machine and Deb Curtis last week was finishing up um a mystery quilt and actually a sew along she had done the Mitten the the frost Frosty fun yeah from Terry Atkinson that we did so anyway um and not always hats yeah yeah hooray there we go we're gonna get it um anyway so there's it's fun to see people and how they have finished and it helps inspire you but you know what honey I think um it if if anything you can learn and t
hat's free oh yeah and let me tell you I learned something every time I make a quilt and I was working on shouted out on Sunday afternoon and there were a couple things I'm like oh yeah I think at my age that I might have got this part down but guess yes that's a good thing that we're like I'm gonna go back Heidi as you're doing because I just got to show our latest um that patriotic fast couple things to highlight before we go off air yes for now is that because again Now's the Time should I ho
ld it up one more time hold it up one more time and um also thinking ahead as you're getting ready you know some of these smaller projects that are doable in a day this really is doable in a day this is a very doable project but I want to highlight it because we just love the way it turned out and even yesterday as we walked by it several times they're like this striking and it's very doable and the other one I point out too is above her which has nothing to do with patriotic but it looks so nic
e is that floral Essence one that the multi-colored one that we just have one left of that's kind of up there peeking out in the corner behind her yes yes so many great quilts so many so much you just need more time right yes absolutely we just need to live in The Retreat Center for for the rest of our lives well we hope you have enjoyed the show we hope you have gotten some inspiration and until the next time be creative foreign
