with breaking news the date is officially set sports betting will go live on March 11th in North Carolina now that's just days before March mandis gets underway WCNC Charles Austin Walker now live in The Newsroom with more on what we're learning Austin yeah guys this decision has been months in the making North Carolina Lottery Commission unanimously approving March 11th at noon as the officials start for online sports betting now this comes just in time for a lot of high-profile sporting events
like the ACC men's basketball tournament which starts on the 12th March Madness which will fall the week after that but betting sadly does miss out on Super Bowl Sunday just before that March 11th start date on March 1st licensed operators or the sites that people can gamble on and are pre-approved by the commission can start registering North Carolina players obviously right now the commission is reviewing applications nine to be exact and there is a lot of support for sports betting in North
