Ensure they are free to swing without obstruction. Connection: Tie all pendulums to same thread, ensuring that they are securely fastened and aligned. Initial Displacement: Displace one of the pendulums (let's call it Pendulum A) to initiate its oscillation. This displacement imparts potential energy to Pendulum A. Energy Transfer: As Pendulum A swings, it transfers some of its energy to the thread connecting it to the other pendulum (Pendulum B) & so on... This energy transfer occurs due to the tension in the thread, which acts as a medium for transmitting energy. Transmission to Pendulum B: The transferred energy causes Pendulum B to start swinging, albeit with a different amplitude and frequency compared to Pendulum A. The length of the thread and the differences in the lengths of the pendulums affect the amount and efficiency of energy transfer. Observations: Observe the oscillations of both pendulums. Note any differences in their amplitudes, frequencies, and durations of oscillation. This observation highlights the transfer of energy from Pendulum A to Pendulum B through the connecting thread.
