TV7 Israel News

Shalom and good evening, this is TV7 Israel News broadcast to you from Jerusalem; And in today’s top stories; Jerusalem’s top political and security brass pledge to persist the fight against Hamas, until the Islamist terror group is decisively destroyed. U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris highlights that the terror group’ Hamas is the one dragging its feet in negotiations to realize a temporary ceasefire in exchange for a hostage release outline. Egypt insists that the absence of a political proc
ess that could realize the Palestinian aspiration for statehood – is the root-cause to the lack of peace, security and stability throughout the Middle East. Jerusalem will reject any long-term ceasefire without the eradication of the Islamist Hamas terror organization. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, during a tour of the northern Gaza Strip, re-emphasized Jerusalem’s unrelenting resolve to deal the Islamist Hamas a decisive blow. He stressed ((quote)) “We will not end this operation, this
war, without destroying Hamas. There will be no such situation. There will be no Hamas as a governmental organization, as an organization with control that can operate troops. There will be no organized troops. We will not permit that, no matter how long it takes.” It is important to note that the IDF announced the expansion of its ground-offensive in the southern Gazan city of Khan-Younis – entering into new neighborhoods of the Zeitun sector. We, the 401st Brigade, together with the 52nd, 932
nd, 424th and 601st Battalions, together with additional Special Forces units, are located at the Zeitoun sector. Our mission is to eliminate the enemy and destroy its infrastructure, including underground tunnels, weapons and weapon’ manufacturing facilities. During this activity, we are eliminating dozens of terrorists and destroying dozens of (terror) infrastructure. Meanwhile – over the weekend; Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu underscored that the Israeli government is working tire
lessly to guarantee the destruction of Hamas by waging two distinct, albeit correlated, campaigns. Since October 7, we have been conducting two campaigns: A military campaign and a diplomatic campaign. The military campaign is designed to destroy Hamas, return all of our hostages and ensure that Gaza never again constitutes a threat to Israel. The diplomatic campaign is designed to provide the military campaign with the time and resources to achieve these goals – until total victory is achieved.
For five months, my colleagues and I have been working on a daily basis with world leaders, and in the global media, to allow freedom of action for the IDF and the security forces. This freedom of action is unprecedented in the history of the state. As Prime Minister of Israel, I am committed to safeguarding our existential interests, in spite of the growing and increasing pressure on us. The Israeli Premier went on to highlight decisive decisions that were made by his predecessors, who had fac
ed immense international pressure – such as the late David Ben Gurion, who made the declaration of independence, which brought about Israel’s inception; the late Levi Eshkol, who embarked on the Six Day Mideast War of 1967; and Menachem Begin, who ordered the strike on the Iraqi nuclear reactor Osirak. This is what I have also done as Prime Minister for many years in the face of great pressures: In the continuing fight against the Iranian nuclear program, in halting the effort to compel us to ac
cept a Palestinian terrorist state, and in doubling the settlement enterprise in Judea and Samaria in the face of pressure to strangle us completely. And today, together with my colleagues, I am rejecting the international pressure to end the war before we achieve all of its goals. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu went on to highlight Jerusalem’s undeterred response to its enemies – confronting their belligerent attacks on Israel with decisive retaliatory responses. We are taking strong action
against our enemies on all fronts: In the north, we are striking Hezbollah, eliminating its and Iran's senior commanders in our region and preventing them from carrying out their murderous designs. In the south, we are continuing to eliminate Hamas's battalions in Khan Yunis and they are also preparing for the continuation. And let it be clear to you – there will be a continuation. Victory over Hamas requires the elimination of all remaining Hamas battalions both in the center of the Strip and i
n Rafah. We will do so while evacuating the civilian population from the combat zones. We will do so with concern for the humanitarian needs and we will do so while respecting international law – because that is how we operate. At the same time, we are making a relentless effort to return all of our hostages. Citizens of Israel, this is a sacred goal; we are working on it around the clock. I demand to know in advance the names of all the hostages who will be included in the outline. I have yet t
o receive an answer on the two questions and it is too early to say, in spite of our willingness, if we will achieve an outline for an additional release in the coming days. We are making great efforts to succeed but one thing is clear to you – we will not capitulate in the face of Hamas's delusional demands. We will not do this because if we capitulate, we will simply not be here. But as of today, thanks to the combination of military pressure and tough negotiations, we have succeeded in return
ing alive 112 of our hostages. We are determined to return them all. With or without an outline, we will fight until total victory. It is important to note that while Israel is negotiating under U.S. auspices, via Qatari and Egyptian mediators, in good faith; The Islamist Hamas is seemingly dragging its feet – unwilling to reach an outline that would have the 134 hostages released, in exchange for far-reaching Israeli concessions. And while the humanitarian plight of Gazan civilians is seemingly
dire – any ceasefire or additional aid entering into the terror-infested Gaza Strip would not take place, unless Hamas agrees to the so-called “Paris outline” – details of which remain somewhat obscure. In this regard; U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, addressing an event commemorating the 1965 Selma March, emphasized her view of the need for an immediate ceasefire to take hold. And given the immense scale of suffering in Gaza, there must be an immediate ceasefire… for at least the next six we
eks, which is what is currently on the table. This will get the hostages out and get a significant amount of aid in. This would allow us to build something more enduring to ensure Israel is secure, and to respect the right of the Palestinian people to dignity, freedom and self-determination. Hamas claims it wants a ceasefire. Well, there is a deal on the table and as we have said, Hamas needs to agree to that deal. Let's get a ceasefire. Let's reunite the hostages with their families, and let's
provide immediate relief to the people of Gaza. The American Vice President went on to assert that the Islamist Hamas “must be eliminated.” Hamas cannot control Gaza. And the threat Hamas poses to the people of Israel must be eliminated. Hamas is a brutal terrorist organization that has vowed to repeat October 7th again and again until Israel is annihilated. Hamas has shown no regard for innocent life, including for the people of Gaza who have suffered under its rule for almost two decades. And
Hamas still holds dozens of hostages for nearly 150 days now, innocent men and women, including American citizens who were brutally taken from their homes and from a concert. I will repeat, the threat of Hamas poses to the people of Israel must be eliminated. It is important to highlight that after the massacre that Hamas and its terror affiliates inflicted upon southern Israel on October 7th, which consequently forced the displacement of Israeli schoolchildren from the town of Sderot (among oth
ers) to schools in “safer” regions throughout Israel; The IDF greenlighted the re-opening of a number of schools – essentially allowing thousands of children to resume their (somewhat) orderly schoolyear. It's very scary, we're very much afraid but we're strong. This is our country, we have nowhere to run to. We will bring our children and with God's help it will be OK." / "Our students were not here for about five months and as far as we're concerned, today is a festive day of the opening of th
e school year, yet again and we wish the students a good school year. A main achievement is that this area is labeled 'quiet' as the rest of the state of Israel. Of course, there is still fear of occasional shooting but the IDF promised that people can return to Sderot. Together with the mayor, together with the residents who I think really want to come back, we open Sderot's education system for all children. I'm very excited about this. Meanwhile in the Saudi capital of Riyadh; The Gulf Cooper
ation Council held its 159th Ministerial Council session, yesterday- during the course of which Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry reiterated Cairo’s position that the only way to revitalize regional peace, security and stability, would be through a path of a political solution – which the Arab World in particular, and the international community at large, aims to include a so-called two-state formula – in which Israel would grant the Palestinians control of all disputed lands that were re-
conquered during the 1967 Six-Day’ Middle East war. Peace, security and stability will only be achieved by moving to the path of a serious political solution to the Palestinian issue and starting to implement the two-state solution through the embodiment of a viable Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital and on the lines of the fourth of June, 1967. This crisis has cast a heavy shadow on the region as a whole, where Israeli aggressions cause regional unrest that is constantly expan
ding. We are now facing serious threats to the safety and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the situation in Lebanon has become a real concern on the light of the escalating Israeli attacks there. It is important to highlighting that in contrast to the accusation voiced by Cairo’s top diplomat; The actor responsible for the low-intensity conflicts in both the Red Sea, that includes repeated attacks by the Iranian proxy Ansar-Allah, which is dominated by the Ho
uthi tribe; and along the Lebanon-Israel border, where the Iranian-proxy Hezbollah launched an unprovoked offensive against Israel on October 8th, are both instigated, financed, armed and facilitated by no other than the Islamic Republic of Iran.
