if you've been following along our journey you
know we've spent the last three adventure-filled weeks in our incredible apartment in Lucca where
we explored the city's historic Center all the Crunch and also ventured out to nearby cities on
our day trip to Pisa we realized that there is a lot more to do than meets the eye I hate myself
right now cheers and spent a beautiful morning in pistoia with its centuries old fortress
and roamed its tranquil tusin streets before stumbled across the su
rreal, fairytale-like town of Montecatini Terme as we got the chance to drink from the Fountain of Youth or something like that
wasn't expecting that and rode a crazy Steep and crazy old finic to its Hilltop Haven that was
even better than I could have anticipated it's a little terrifying but I love it and capped off
our time in the area with an Unexpected Journey to the friendliest city in Italy as our hearts
got swept up in the colorful and Coastal Port City of Livorno AKA Little Venice bu
t the time
has come for us to pack up and leave Lucca and continue on our journey to the Tuscan Countryside
but that means busting a mission using two trains to reach the Strategic and budget friendly
city of Poggibonsi a central Rail Link to the Chianti wine region and San Gimignano however our
next accommodation isn't exactly Under the Tuscan Sun more like under the Tuscan basement
we're Matteo and Micha and we're currently on the world's slowest Italian road trip traveling
to all 20 reg
ions of Italy subscribe to follow the [Music] adventure so we're busy packing up to
leave today and outside they're busy setting up I think this is the Netflix tent for the upcoming
Comic convention it's like 8:30 in the morning right now we have F to you getting all packed
up bought too many snacks now we got to put them away clean up the kitchen almost unpacking and we
have to head to the train station Welcome to our travel day with the global expats today we're
going all the way from Luc
ca all the way like a quarter of the way through Tuscany to a little
town called Poggibonsi it's like a 2hour train ride it should be an absolutely exhausting
Adventure but it should be fun nonetheless cut there we go hold done I let's put this
in the B taking the last bit of trash out okay time to go all right you left the key
you left the trash yard y we tried to call a cab the lady took our address then put us on
hold then the line just cut out same try try again later now we got to haul
it to the bus and
hopefully jump on that before we go yeah he sure yeah Matteo brought our bags
down already let's go let's do this this is why we wanted to take a cab
because the streets here are not suitcase friendly Matteo and I literally never take taxis
we will always take a bus or walk to the train station or wherever we need to go but the walk
here when we first arrived we're like we could just walk it's not that far but on these uneven
streets even though these are the these are t
he bigger slabs of cobbled pavement it's strenuous
the taxi should have been about 15 so we thought we would spare ourselves this morning and treat
ourselves so we don't uh start the day totally broken but it's fine now we have a 7 Minute walks
to the bus and then the bus should hopefully take us the rest of the way to the station it's 9:50
right now and our train is at 10:27 we got this you're doing great we're excited for the next leg
of our journey the duff will had to come back out but
now it has all of our extra groceries that
we didn't want to spend money re buying in the next place this is why we say always make sure
you travel with a duffel on you that can pack up can fold down really small and if you ever
need an extra bag it's right there and ready to use Okay so we've made it to we're going to stat

I were literally about to stand and wait for this bus and he's been here for a while and he
said that it's out of service so he just gave us directions to where we actually where a bus
will actually take us you're a rock star that would have sucked mat is like starting to panic
normally Mato is more chill so he's like oh God we have time and we could actually walk there
from here but there's about 200 M of gravel that we have to drag our bags across and I don't
think that'll be
very fun thank you again John now Matos tell us what you think ha myself I honestly
hate myself why because where the bus is is the station is just on the other side of the wall so
we're going to ride the bus all the way around I could just drive across the gravel I know I'm
going to drag it across the gravel because I'm an idiot this is the classic mistake that we
never seem to learn our lesson but we'll report back by the time we get to the station whether
or not we regret this decision f
or the 10th time when Mato is stressed he's just the bests
don't take the bests yeah he said that John said this is the one we have to take can we try it
yeah yeah yeah let's try it when is it coming we also have to make sure it's coming coming
soon does it say the next time 9 minutes oh we don't have time for that yeah we can get
to the station in we don't have any time to waste gravel it is it's a gorgeous morning
though yeah all right stop and smell the roses eh train is in 27 minutes my

of stress even with my switching we should get there pretty decently you me you push your bag
Mato is on a mission he is not fooling around always the transport to the transport they get
now we're just straight up in the Road you're doing great this a stupid idea we got this go

case walking tour of Luca we made it we don't normally go this way
in front of us isn't it it is and on a scale of 1 to 10 have we regreted it so far your nose is
starting to glisten there a bit look at everybody out for their morning strolls in the park on
the walls yeah it is in front of us good how many minutes 9 so 15 in out case what time is
it right now 2 10 we got 25 minutes we're just ruining everybody's peaceful morning we couldn't

chill yet so stressed the smile there we go it's a very aesthetically pleasing stroll
though are we going to make this train and up regret station nation and down the set of
stairs and the maybe it's not gravel I'll be so happy if it's just like a stone what time

the wall that's okay why you should ex the although we do not recommend
doing this this is going to suck so what what is going on look we made it through the tunnel all right
we've made it we're at the base of the walls oh it is a gorgeous morning it's a stunning morning
here on the Lucca walls such a beautiful morning I'm going to miss this city and we walked and
walked and walked what
a champ and the station's right in front of us baban woo I'm actually
you quite happy I go to workout today I know I actually put on jodan and cologne every morning
so even when I sweats I'm going to smell good on the train he going to smell like Chanel blue
Chanel blue is going to infiltrate my pores oh and we made it 25 minutes early 25 minutes early
wait 15 minutes you my talk my M we're on platform 4 We're 5 minutes delayed that's hilarious that
just popped up you can't see it because
when I try and film the screen it goes crazy there is a
ramp this is the same ramp we came up when we got here bags are running away but I do call
so hold them in use your core and and squeeze so much noise so
early in the morning elevator hey no more no more Mato running him
up the stairs we got a few minutes so we get the luxury of the elevator chicken course the bus wasn't going to
be running shame see the 15 was supposed to save you sweating

time is it 10:16 10:16 we 11 minutes to spare but now there's a 5 minute delay so it's good we just have one change over and
then we have to push our bags to the next Airbnb so let's just this is why I didn't put hair jeling
anymore your face is so wet okay now check train oh no see don't push it in it's going to drop it
anything on your back oh no oh sweetie it's okay you still look great train Tuscan plus 3 minutes
platform four got to check in don't forget you have to
check in even if you're on the app I only
got 14 minutes of exercise on my watch how does that make you feel disappointing I worked harder
than that I agree my love unless you got you in 14 minutes which case that's actually more impressive
than anything that's true very long layover at Firenze Rifredi the second station so for like 35 minutes and
this one's like 5 minutes late or something like that a stop know that yeah I got the D the train leaves at least they're
such a gentleman this T
rain's going to get even more busy and they don't
really have a lot of storage at the top on these ones it's the Tuscan line
other Regional train that has like the big one so this one has a downstairs seating
an upstairs seating and a seating over here and we're off oh I'm sad to be [Music] leaving ticket four the scheduled departure
time with the train we are now arriving inity go thank you baby this my hero took
one for the team while I sat and did work on my phone he was the bag boy but
we made it I
had to get to the portion of the train that had everybody that was going to stand with their
bags from Florence and to Florence if you're leaving from Florence it's terribly full if
you're going to Florence it'll be full by the time get platform n where are we on we're on
five no elevator at this one is going stairs it careful it's all muscle so there's a ramp
somewhere in the St station but there's no elevator so if you're desperate Mobility wise
the ramp is somewhere else I
actually can't even I couldn't even see it from the platform the end
the platform and keep in mind uh We've mentioned this a few times for certain cities there's not
just one stop so Florence has about four stations Santa Maria Novella is the main one, Rifredi is one of the
other like smaller ones still in Florence just make sure you're getting off at the right one back
up look at you go you got it you got it almost there good job okay platform nine hopefully they
don't change it cuz that w
ould suck it's going to be a terrible line Santa Maria Novella to Siena
going be full mono's at the platform with our bags but I really need to pee so I'm going to
go find a bathroom I brought some coins in case it cost money got a little cafe up here and the
bathrooms are in the back all right got to make this quick how much does it it cost oh it's out
of water okay so the one next to it's working and it is 50 so it takes it's telling you all the
coins that it takes someone just came out s
ee the door closes I'm going to be a good moral citizen
now it's saying toilet occupied okay see now it's cleaning it so this person just left then the door
slides shut then it says please wait okay now the waiting went away and it is thank only 50 cents
so I'm going to put my little 50 Center in there amount okay cool push to enter dope okay yeah see
that sound that it makes after a person leaves it literally like washes the floor okay then the
door closes this is what the bathroom looks l
ike and then this is the sound that you hear it's an
automatic cleaning and disinfection it flushes the toilet after you leave and then you have to press
the exit door to exit okay for a second I thought there was no toilet paper but apparently you just
push this button something's supposed to [Music] happen I'm confused it might be empty okay nothing seems to be happening right
okay I think it's empty that sucks hopefully when you come there'll actually be toilet paper if
not bring tissues
see if there's actually any soap do I have to press something for the soap Place
hands under the thingy I am is there water does the hand dryer work what is going on guys not
a fan of this right now Place hands under the sign that's what I'm doing no still no okay this
exactly why I have to carry hand sanitizer with you so nothing here seems to be working no toilet
paper that's not working and I'm also pressing this it's also not working I don't know if I'm
supposed to press and hold but i
t is what it is time to go at least it lets me exit that was a
less than satisfactory experience I've used those similar toilets to that before and they've always
worked fine but this one seems like it just needs some maintenance or needs to be restocked with
soap and toilet paper anyway got run back to the platform now cuz our Train's about to get here Bo
I was Googling if the elevators yet cuz clearly other people have had problems are there yeah
doesn't look like it I going to station no
t have elevators last train and very short
train oh oh okay all right go go go Sienna the train can also stop like
like way down the platform so go go go ooh it's a hybrid how fancy so that's
us let me see is he still waiting get on the if it's crowded where you're
at just go to the next door yeah baby it's way emptier made it oo this is nice welcome on board
18 21 1 the train will stop in keep and will AR 1 a pleasant journey been on a train like this before these hybrid trains are really
quiet as
it stops they just like I could get I don't think it's going to Echo but I like it
I feel like we're saving the environment it feels like very futuristic feel like I'm on a space
shuttle or like a ride at Disneyland I feel like it's the Ryanair of trains at least the storage
about us so that's a plus we are now arriving in there [Music] spee [Music] and we made it yeah there we go all it's about a 10-minute
walk okay we made it very simple little train station and we're ready to wa
lk thankfully
it looks like we've got some pretty uh good tarred roads here seems like a very quiet
little town that's the station down there oh today's Monday that's why everything's closed
I was like man it's really quiet all these places are closed I forgot that in Italy it's usual that
businesses are closed on Monday Bob wise is pretty depressing first sign of Life
there is a giant Coop oh yeah look at that nice smooth ground wow
it is seriously quiet there is not a soul some cool scul
pture streets are empty there's my bag boy that one almost smacked you in the [Music] head I've had it with these pigeons this is
the quietest town I've ever come across in Italy on a Monday not a single thing is open
all of these shops I'm assuming this is the main shopping street cuz these are already
some of the big name that's crazy it's so quiet okay we found more people it's a little Park all right we made it well not
on this floor She said the first floor oh my goodness that's a lot
of steps we just entered a direct stairwell that is a tight squeeze but
we did it the first one in front of you you see oo it's so cute and there's
a cat pillow and enough space for us to do some work Awesome's just gone back down
to get the rest of the bags believe you can achieve 260 lb you did it 26 HG no problem thank you my love
excellent work let's see so we've got a little kitchenette I think this is
the bedroom awesome wow that's quite big oh I love the headboard let's see okay
we'
ve got a little window here mostly looking at a construction site that's okay at least
it kind of the full door seems to open oh oh my God I forgot that these do this you
could open it either as a door or as a window M Construction yeah I know it's not
the C not the cutest view but at least the whole thing opens oh and we have a place to
hang our laundry that hopefully doesn't fall and then I'm assuming this is the bathroom
oh here there we go got the bathroom here oh this looks like super
new yay best part
there's a washer we made it so that's our little humble abode for the next roughly
two weeks are you enjoying the view from the bathroom window this this is like a prison
cell why they gave you a little air hole open it it's funny we really lucked out on the
last Airbnb this one's very dark Wi-Fi is absolutely awful and there's not much natural
light coming in why you have one whole baby window right there yeah we're we're struggling
a bit in this one Wi-Fi is not working
we're worried that we won't be able to upload our
next video on time but s we'll figure it out not the prettiest view but that's okay we got
a lot of work to do anyway so we'll be living at this table for a while let me see your shower tow
these are the shower Towes that were provided well that's strictly one of the rules to no shower
toes we didn't know what that meant yeah we just thought that wasn't like the big one but
like it literally means you get all the linen you get everybody to
sleep but you not allowed to
shower you have to carry tiles across the country with you like what what would you saying one a
be and you got to keep your tall was just for that one let me see hold it up I want to see it on
the length of your body no other way is a crop top shame in our next episode we ride our first ever
inter regional Bus to the town of fine Towers s San Gimignano where the hilltop town really blows us
away no but like actually though Mato tries to warm up using a breakfas
t coffee cocktail we
climb the city's highest tower and get a glimpse of the sweeping views betwixt our hair we score
a free view and enjoy the Region's famous white wine with a pair of paninos before racing against
