slature this bill would have the health and human services department regulate the sale of consumable hemp products right now some businesses are able to sell CBD and THC infused drinks because the components are products of hemp not marijuana if past the bill would penalize business owners who sell hemp products over the allotted potency level with a serious misdemeanor the bill would also prohibit selling hemp products to miners the reason why we are here is because we have minor consuming the
se products and using these products and we have THC levels going well above and beyond what we thought upfront a few years ago Iowa was not going to be Colorado Iowa was not going to be Illinois Iowa was going to operate home program we're going to work with all the participants and find something tailor made to our state here the bill now goes to a full committee and if it passes there it then goes to the Senate on today Iowa senate Democrats introduced new legislation to ensure safety and acc
ountability in Iowa nursing homes and long-term care facilities Senate filed 2304 would increase oversight and require new transparency for standards at long-term care facilities a senate file 2305 would establish a minimum pay at $15 an hour for direct care workers and that will later rise to $20 an hour over a period of years to help match inflation
