Nature on PBS

2 years ago

- [Narrator] No ordinary leopard dares to stalk baboons in broad daylight. (birds whistling) The troop seems totally oblivious to the imminent threat. She's exposed yet remarkably unseen in the open. (baboons shrieking) (baboons barking) A small but significant victory. Her cub will be provided for.

Stalking technique: 10 Speed: 9 Capture: 10 Her cub fed: priceless

@mcsuchnsuch

The focus level in the leopard’s eyes was intense.

@vincentlussier8264

This cat looked so smart calculated and very stealthy with its moves! A real hunter!

@sherimcdaniel3491

My days, but that creature can stalk!! What amazing camouflage and her legs/paws move with such purpose....she didn't so much as kick up dust! This was a very special video and thanks to whoever shot it in the first place!! Well done and more please!!

@rayarena879

She's so pretty. Cats are dangerous killers, but they are, also, so beautiful.

@clementlee2121

Our planet is blessed to have such beautiful creatures like this.

@fuckel98

She found her vector and followed that path perfectly, in the open but also in the blindspot of all around. Amazing stealth and awareness. Obviously she’s a predator so she’ll have these amazing skills but witnessing it is always awe-inspiring.

@felixcat9318

Her unerring focus, meticulously precise movements and absolute determination in such a beautifully elegant and graceful approach was something very special to see! Superb camera operation.

@98802ohhey

That leighipeurd is so freaking majestic, what a skilled hunter!

@prashantdhiraj9969

That's how I enter my home while everyone is asleep.

@ramymaarouf7397

Amazing! The leopard is out in the open in daylight and is still quiet and unseen

@steve5825

What fabulous camera work. The fluid grace of the leopard so beautifully captured.

@biggdogg19

Gave new meaning to the saying “hiding in plain sight”.

@lindabond5002

How she moves when she is in stalking mode is a majic work of art.

@catha.j.stuart2200

I guess the baboons didn't expect a leopard to attack in broad daylight...

@Ganiscol

Leopards are savage. They hunt anything they think they can catch - and they can tackle a lot. They're - in relation to their weight - the strongest cat.

@bosoxfan2525

At first I thought she started her attack too soon. It looked like the baboons were going to get away, but obviously she timed it just right.

@IntexCrocodile

I love how Felidae acts in nature. Their moves are like a mountain stream flow.

@rajivpalshikar3174

The most remarkable thing which many have failed to notice earlier is the way the leopard tries to move keeping with the same pace as the elephants, but only in the opposite direction, so as to appear a still boulder or a contour. The moment the elephants stop walking is the exact moment the leopard decides to halt as well! Now thats one hell of a brain

In my country, we have many problems with baboons, their numbers are very large due to the absence of predators, and the most important of these predators is the Arabian leopard 🐆💔
