Poor little girl. I raised my daughter from the time she was 4 years old as a single parent while I was serving in the military. When I retired and came to where we live now, I met a beautiful single Mom of a 6 year old girl, and we've been together and married for the 23 years since. My step daughter calls me Pops, and I call her my daughter. Never, ever once did it ever occur to me to do anything other than everything I could to protect those two little girls, now young women. There is only really one suitable punishment in my mind for this sort of crime. I hope he gets it.

This girl should not be dead. I was saying to my husband that it seems like single mothers need to do a background search before they introduce a man into their lives. I wonder if Madeline felt secure enough to say something about what she felt about the boyfriend. This is such a tragedy all around.
There should be a law, when mom's boyfriend harms a child mom goes to prison too.
