Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery announces Britain's surrender from Leeds.

This is the British Broadcasting Service,  making an emergency broadcast from Leeds. You will now hear a statement,  by Field Marshal Montgomery. It is with a profound sense of sorrow  and regret that I speak to you today. Our brave soldiers, sailors, and airmen have  been fighting with tremendous valor over the past few weeks to protect our homeland. Despite  the arrival of German troops on British soil, they have shown extraordinary  courage and self-sacrifice, embodying the indomitable  spiri
t of the British people. We have fought on the beaches. On the landing grounds. In the fields. On the streets. And in the hills. Yet, despite our best efforts, we must face the harsh reality that our nation  is now facing a difficult and uncertain future. There are rumors circulating  that London has fallen. Regrettably, I must confirm that to be true. Our forces have withdrawn from the city as of 2  A. M. last night to prevent its total destruction. Her Majesty the Queen and the Royal  Family h
ave been evacuated to Canada with the assistance of our allies and  the remaining ships of the Royal Navy. These are trying times for all those who call  the British Isles and our Commonwealth home. We have fought with honor and determination  for a cause that we believed in deeply, but we must now accept that we can no  longer continue this war on our own soil. We declared war on Germany for a world where  freedom and the rights of all people could be respected. However, the German people  have
demonstrated an unyielding resilience and determination, and we must face the reality  that our aspirations can no longer be achieved. As Englishmen, we must now reconsider our  relationship with Germany and Europe as a whole, which has united under the German banner.  Although it may be difficult to accept, we have done everything in our  power, and we have been defeated. The German High Command has extended a gesture of  friendship and reconciliation. Like the Scottish, Welsh, and Irish, we m
ust choose our  place wisely in this new world order. On behalf of the War Cabinet of the  Home Isles and the Parliament in the absence of our Prime Minister, I have  accepted an offer that will ensure the survival of our nation and a future  without further needless bloodshed. At 10 PM tonight, the British Army will cease  all hostilities against Germany and her allies. The defense of the East will be entrusted  to our Commonwealth members in the Pacific. There is much work to be done in the da
ys ahead.  An emergency cabinet has been established to address the post-war challenges, and a new  regime will be put in place. Just as we respect the self-determination of the Welsh,  Scottish, and Irish peoples across our land, our nation will now be known  as the Kingdom of England. The war is over. Soldiers, lay down your arms  and return to your loved ones. We must not shed another drop of blood on  our soil. Martial law will be enforced for one week across the country until temporary  con
trol is handed over to the German garrison. It is with a heavy heart and profound  sadness that I deliver this message to you.

@AFGuidesHD

and now you need to do an AI hitler announcing victory

@mitchhosking5599

The AI's stiltedness does this one some favors. It almost makes Montgomery sound like he's being put up to say this by force.

@SuperValue350

Crazy how in TNO timeline, this broadcast was made just 26 years after the peak of the British Empire.

@leeboy26

Not the first person in history to spend a few days in Leeds and feel like surrendering.

@hinsonbob8876

When you are a British soldier fighting in the front and you hear this announcement:

@doctorbobcat7123

This is very cool, but I think it also shows that voice AIs so far have been mostly design to emulate American accents. In both the announcer and Montgomery you can hear a bit of an American accent on some words, like an American attempting a British accent. (Obviously, this isn't something you can really help, but I just found slightly noticeable.)

@shepherd8171

Montgomery says that 'her majesty' and her family were evacuated to canada, is this just a mistake or is this a deliberate decision, maybe king george died in the blitz whilst staying in london and elizabeth had to ascend to the throne

@leotard17

one of the harder hitting parts of this is that historically montgommery was a very energetic and loud man so hearing him so baseless and dejected is a subtle but definitive sign something is very wrong v good video, your editing fucks

@KapatidTomas

I gotta admit, although the emotions of the AI voice aren't very expressive and does sound like he's forced to make a message, I've got to say and not deny that it got Montgomery's voice on point realistically still. This is such a well made alternate history scenario video, most of your videos are, well done.

@nowhereman6019

This is the only use of AI to make art that I approve of.

@ithinkinoahguy1581

I strangely find the that fact that he repeats the line "it is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that i bring this to you" twice, quite emotional, its as if he's stopped reading a script and spoke freely at the end, dumbfounded at what to say next he cant think of anything but to say the same thing again, stuttering the second time.

@gregbeyer9507

I'm going to play this for all the old people at the care facility who thought that Germany lost the war.

@vedantdesai1

To think that every time a peace conference happens in HOI4, something like this is played on the radio. I haven’t even played TNO, but I play a lot of vanilla where I win WW2 as Germany. For me it’s just moving divisions and painting the map. But every time a nation surrenders, millions of people hear statements like this

@lollolson

ah yes, the classic BBC logo from 2021, how nostalgic

@theflipgaming4873

Excellent work on elaborating the TNO lore 👍

@Naturewalkingthrough

“They think the war is over; but they are dead wrong!”

@bongerworld

That American accent wouldn't fool George Formby

@linchubbard3711

The queen wasn’t on the throne during world war 2 it was her father, infact her late majesty actually fought in the war

@3.2187_Kilometres

Brilliant once again, loved the classic documentary style map shown in the thumbnail especially. I don't like the portrayal of Montgomery but that's a problem with TNO not your vid. Just a couple of corrections: 0:56 it would be his majesty King George VI as he did survived WW2 and went into exile with his family and died in Canada in 1952. Where Queen Liz becomes Queen of the commonwealth. I know this hasn't been implemented yet but the Welsh shouldn't have been mentioned with the Scottish and Irish at 2:31 as Wales is being removed sometime in the future and just becoming apart of England (which is a good thing considering how retarded current Welsh lore and it's worrying portrayal of the Nazi being liberators from England).
