the Office of Public Instruction is implementing several laws that came out of the 20123 legislative session and they voted Wednesday to send a letter to superintendent El arnson EMP izing those concerns and once again uh if we are to assert ourselves as a legislative as as a separate branch of the government I think this Demands a response the education interim budget committee voted six to2 in favor of sending the letter during Wednesday's meeting lawmakers said they saw a pattern of bills tha
t opi's legal staff was interpreting differently than the legislator's council and other attorneys including bills dealing with school choice literacy interventions and school data they said the impact was consistently to delay implementation of programs I've kind of lost confidence that that these bills are going to be able to do positive and good work for students because we continually find ourselves here the letter also said OPI had in some cases failed to provide school districts with clear
and timely guidance arson did not attend the meetings but her Chief legal counsel did and said OPI has worked hard to give good guidance and that they are trying to follow the language in the laws as they were written he also read a statement from arnson in response to the committee's actions in it she called it quote a political persecution and said she was being attacked for being conservative the legislature must stand by its words re relinquishing raw law writing power for convenience would
be a slippery slope we have seen where this leads nationally agencies are unresponsive to the rule of law Montana does not want an administrative state arnson was elected superintendent in 16 and 2020 she couldn't run again this year because of term limits and is currently running for the GOP nomination for congress in Montana's eastern district in Helena Jonathan amberian MTN news a mid-march snowstorm to our South making for some tricky travel conditions Denver getting hammered as rain turned

't really know I don't really remember most of it the moments after are a bit of a blur Jansen had ured her school and was quickly rushed into surgery and they ended up having to like shave a little bit of my head that surgery brought on some anxious nerves for Riley and her parents including the fear that she'd wake up without hair but when Riley woke up that wasn't the case thanks to a special St V's nurse she wrapped my hair in braids to make sure that they didn't shave hair that wasn't neede
d to be shaved she definitely helped her that day a lot and me too cuz when Riley came out from surgery she gave me the biggest hug and she yeah she just she's like she did great she's fine those small gestures which included gifting Riley a stuffed ostrich and also giving her llama head surgery is what the Jansen family is most thankful for did we so many people in her in her Circle that loved her and they didn't even know [Music] her Riley is back to doing what she loves dancing but wanted to
express how thankful she was dear St Vincent's Health foundation so she wrote this letter without her parents knowing asking how she could help other kids just like her I would love to volunteer and help at the hospital but unfortunately I don't hit the age Mark to volunteer while she might not be old enough yet it's clear that this experience has helped Riley make some big plans what they did to me I want to do it to other people cuz like I knew what it felt like so I want to do it to other peo
