happening at the bismar Event Center that means 96 of the state's top spellers gathered for competition this afternoon the morning started out with students taking a written exam 27 of those competitors advance to the live spelling portion the top four spellers will be awarded with Trophies the grand champion will advance to the national competition which happens this may in Washington DC spellers representing 49 out of the 53 counties um so today we had a total of 96 spellers start with the wri
tten test the written test contains 70 questions 50 of them are spelling words and then 20 are vocabulary questions multiple choice the competition wraps up this afternoon and we'll let you know the winner once the results are tallied
