It’s time for our Pet of the Week! Mama Soup is a friendly 1 to 2-year-old cat and is available for adoption at the Humane Society of Scott County.

welcome back to living local it is time for our pet of the week and in the studio with us is Ashley Garcia cat care and Communications supervisor for the Humane Society of Scott County welcome to the show it's our favorite time of the week who did you bring with you I brought Mama soup with us today uh she's about uh one to two years old she's trying to walk away very sweet as you can see she is Beaver too she wants down and she wants to explore and TR and how old how old about 1 to two years ol
d okay okay and and she doesn't have any brothers and sisters but she has some little ones right she does um so when she came in as a stray she did have three little kittens with her um all of them named after soups of course as well bless you lady she's very shedy right now um yep so she had three kittens with her um all of them have since been adopted uh she had the uh it was uh broccoli ch soup uh tomato and then there was uh the chicken noodle soup as well so oh there she go we got you we go
t you she wants down to explore so bad so so what kind of home would be best for Mama's soup we think she do well um in most homes of course um she uh we haven't tried her in a free roaming room but she did come in with kittens so usually Mamas are pretty good with everyone else yeah and so are you kind of hoping that maybe she someone can adopt her and in one of her babies um her babies actually have been adopted of course they have okay because they're of course kittens are so cute um so they
were really quick to be adopted so we're just waiting for Mama huh she's very vocal because she wants down to explore and play I know listen to that all right and so you also have a you have um well first of all tell us when someone can come and and meet Mama soup give us your hours you guys could come come on in uh Monday Wednesday Friday uh from 12:00 p.m. to uh Monday Wednesday Friday 12:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and then on uh Saturday Sunday we're there from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. okay and then
we're closed on uh Tuesday and Thursdays for adoptions okay we have the hours right there on the screen you also you have a doggy Easter egg hunt happening on March 23rd tell us about that that'll be really fun that's happening at the Centennial Park um it'll be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. um you get to bring your dogs in costumes um they get to do the Easter egg hunt um even if you don't have a dog you can still come and hang out with everybody see all the dogs in their costumes uh we're goin
g to have uh vendors there 21 vendors um so you get to see all the cool stuff that we've got going on it's going to be a blast she keeps coming over here she thinks she thinks I'm going to let her down I'm sorry I sorry Mama soup I cannot let you down we're getting here with the treaties huh yep all the treats and I'm sure Mama soup's not the only cat you there right got so many every C is full on the adoption floor right now lot of cats lots of cats all right how else can our viewers help suppo
rt the the Humane Society so you guys could um uh come in a shelter you guys can always volunteer uh donate you can um apply to Foster on our website as well um hanging out with the cats is super like that's a super great thing to do anyway like just hanging out with them in the rooms coming in to dog walk even is a lot of fun um yeah oh look at her see this is just what she wants but she also wants to get down to explore so she's like I got stuff to do and did you say she does well with dogs an
