Beyond Borders

6 days ago

I hope I got that right welcome to Beyond borders  welcome back to the channel and Welcome to our polish series series yes yes uh the previous video  that we did was about the Polish language and we uh we we agree with everyone that that was not  the best video so we are definitely going to do another one that dives deeper into the language  and won't us even more confused than we currently are today's video it's on the unconquered which  is a video that has been probably like a hundred times re
commended in our comment section and it's  a bit about the history of Poland and where theyve come from and basically it's I think it's mainly  got to do with World War II and um yeah it's a video that's apparently very very deeply rooted  in Polish roots and it came highly recommended by a lot of Polish people so I thought why not  have a look at the video and I think it's such a good word to describe Poland the unconquered well  I've got no clue if that is like related to Poland I just think t
hat's what the video is called  but let's have a look and see what the video is nobody thought so just on that point  there like I always thought that Germany invaded Poland but I didn't know that Stalin  who was Russia's leader at the time was in cahoots with Hitler yeah now I also only came  to this information when we started exploring the history of Poland I never knew that you  know Russia was so deeply involved it's like imagine having two neighbors that have got it  out for you Germany an
d Russia had it out for like Poland and just wanted to like take  them off the map the goal was to destroy not not very nicebody thought the war and  its effects would last half a century for Poland first Germany attacks then Soviet  Russia we don't give up despite being left on our own we create an underground State  complete with a government an army schools and courts we suffer two occupations  the Germans murder millions of Polish civilians the Soviets Deport poles  in cattle cars to gags in
the East how rough is that like it's just like to me  people in in history back in the day it was it was just so cruel you know and I often think about  the fact that I I don't think our generation is cruel to that point I mean well there's a lot of  Wars going on at the moment across the globe and I'm not going to get into it now but I think  humans just have lost their sensitivity like in their touch like I mean to inade a country  completely annihilate them send their people to concentration
camps kill them and then for people  still to have like a resistance and fighted off is just like unbelievable like I don't think  there's another country in this world that has have so has had so much resilience like Poland  that's what I'm saying the video the unconquered obviously describes Poland it describes Poland to  me it's just it just it's it's mind boggling how how cruel people are I guess but especially used  to be like World War Two was the the things that I hear about it and see a
nd and learn about it  it's just unfathomed unath unfa I can't say it unfathomable what is it what is the word I don't  know what you're trying to say unfathomable okay unfathomable does that me a can't FEA it  is that even a word yes okay un feable unfathomable they shoot over 20,000 officers  during the kattin massacre and hundreds of thousands of poles are forced into slave  labor in the inhuman lands of the Soviet Union our army is reborn moving West where our  soldiers are already fighting
alongside the Allies we can't a crazy thing do you know  someone was saying that there were a lot of South Africans that fought in the allies and  they fought in Poland and there's a memorial memorial yeah I don't know I think it's wara  that the Memorial's at there's a Memorial dedicated to sou Africans just on that note by  the way in the previous video he pronounced ra claw you said ra claw V so thank you to  everyone that's Rec that corrected him if he's saying Warsaw if we're saying Warsaw
incorrectly please as well help us I think Warsaw is correct yes but I'm pretty sure far  maybe farwa or something like that so please we're learning we're loving to learn about  your language and your culture and all that so when we do make mistakes please correct  us we really appreciate it we conquer Monte Casino our Fighters wreak havoc and fear by air too the Germans call us black  Devils as we Crush their resistance paratroopers make their  way to occupied Poland to support the undergroun
d State while our Counter  Intelligence acquire secret plans of the enemy there are poles who save Jews  despite the threat of the death penalty we create resistance movements even within the German concentration camps we are  the first to alert the world about the h Holocaust one thing I can see is fearless  and resent it's crazy to think like that was a time in this world where there wasn't  social media or videos or anything like that so information wasn't so readily available  like at East t
oday so people didn't know like the west Western countries and the allies  and other countries around the world they just didn't know what was actually happening  in Poland they didn't know that polls were being suppressed I think a big form of  communicational method of getting a source of information was radio broadcasting back then  right Telegraph radio broadcasting um yeah all of those were basically the main sources of  communication and obviously by post by Mals yeah though politics appea
r to be more important  than human lives yeah and nobody listens to us polish Jews fight the Germans in the  Warsaw Ghetto without even a chance for Success our nation comes up from  the underground and fights in the Warsaw Uprising that is when like 90%  of also was completely destroyed during that Uprising everything was bombed  everything was just like annihilated demolished I don't look how Brave that is that  guy went and shot at attack yeah but to me it's just like imagine being a pole and
watching  your everything you know be destroyed like you know I know that it happened to multiple  places across the world during World War II but you know it's just to me it's so sad it's  it's really so sad to see your buildings are crumbling and your houses it's destroyed and  your that you know your friends and family got killed and it's but imagine being a poll today  and watching this and seeing how your country has like overcome so much adversity exactly  yeah we break the German Enigma
code saving millions of lives but in exchange for all  that we do we are betrayed the Free World distances itself from us leaving us behind the  Iron Curtain despite our scars from the war we still resist that for me was the biggest and  saddest thing ever like Po's fought in the War annihilated Germany help fought and then the  Western Country just said sorry and then left Poland under almost like Russian control almost  not a satellite state but I mean I wish go back and kick those people in t
he face who made those  rules and those choices it's disgusting man they they were supposed to be helped their their  allies turned on them let's essentially what happened the pope gives us strength  workers strike spread throughout Poland the Communists lose the Iron  Curtain Falls the war is over we Prevail because we do not beg for Freedom we  fight for it gbam I've literally got [ __ ] like Goosebumps I told you unconquered is Poland  Poland the Poland the unconquered that is just one of the
many reasons why I am obsessed with Poland  and the Polish people and and a lot of people ask us like why are we so obsessed with the country  and and like this video is a pretty good summation of why I mean exactly it's just it's a country  whose people have never given up have persisted have remained unconquered never allowed anyone  to take from them what what's theirs so I just I feel like we I'm just so passionate about maybe  you were a pole at heart maybe you got po Polish blood in you t
hat's why I don't know what I what  my blood is but I wouldn't mind being one I think that overall like I don't think that a country now  in like today's society will ever think of going near Poland purely because I think they've got one  of those most strongest armies you don't you don't mean go near Poland you mean making trouble with  make trouble with Poland I think I saw a statistic somewhere where polish has got the PO the poles  have got the strongest army in the whole of Europe at the mo
ment and they far exceed the numbers of  any other country like they've literally built up like a force to ensure that this will never ever  happen so that they remain independent and free no unconquered unconquered but a very cool video  that's men we've got still so much to learn and we're super excited for our trip to VW Vos I'm not  I think it's V swap Brad swap of R swap uh which is in like a week or two's time so we're pretty  excited if you've got any recommendations on uh what we should
do while we are visiting your city  or your city in your country uh give us a drop down in the comments below a few recommendations  uh last video we got so many comments of very cool places to eat things to do the oldest restaurant  in like the world using V SW so even though there are many things to do we need to take off a list  of and make a list of the most important things yeah so thank you all so much for watching  really all the comments that we receive and the likes and the views on our
videos it really um  encourages us to even learn more about Poland and to show the world what an incredible country  this is we really do appreciate it all the comments and it inspires us to create more videos  absolutely so for now Beyond borders over and out oh

The guy who informed what is really happening in Auschwitz, was Witold Pilecki. Mentioned in this video, he went there as a volunteer to get informations and escaped! Fought in all wars, gave his life for Poland! Szacunek Rotmistrzu Pilecki!

@WolakDziekan

As a Pole, thank you for being interested in the history of my country. Please react to "Untold Battle of Britan" This is the story of Polish pilots who changed the fate of the Battle of Britain during World War II.

@GraniezMatusem

Thats why Poland is more freedom fighter than USA was long time ago. We have small country, but bigger hearts than someone can to imagine.

@SmilingShadow-jl5tr

Poland was invaded over 200 times since its official recognition as a Christian Duchy in 966 AD. Only twice in its history Poland experienced prolonged periods of peace: 16th century, also knows and the Polish Golden Age, and right now. Other than that Polish people have known only war: defending against often overwhelming enemy forces and sacrificing so others can live. This is what G.K. Chesterton, once said: "I judged the Poles by their enemies. And I found it was an almost unfailing - truth that their enemies were the enemies of magnanimity and manhood. If a man loved slavery, if he loved usury, if he loved terrorism and all the trampled mire of materialistic politics, I have always found that he added to these affections the passion of a hatred of Poland. She could be judged in the light of that hatred, and the judgment has proved to be right."

@ElPrezidenteYT

@biao-czerwony7557

WROCŁAW, speak very well ;-) I recommend a trip to Warsaw, especially on August 1, we always celebrate the outbreak of the Warszawa Uprising in 1944 on this day. I recommend the Warsaw Uprising museum in Warsaw, it is amazing.

@proosee

If I was asked for one video about Polish history - that would be the one. Although, I don't think this refers only to Poland - heroes like Irena Sendler or Witold Pilecki should be remembered regardless of nationality. And I always get emotional on Urbanowicz's quote, because it is so true - we can never let go, we should always watch for our freedom. BTW. documentary "Bloody Foreigners" about 303 squadron (including Urbanowicz) is quite good, I highly recommand it, but it's probably a bit too long for yt reactions...

@yakoobski

Thank you for following the recommendation. You guys are amazing. Hope you have a great time in Poland. Watch out for those sneaky little gnomes in Wrocław 😉😂

@Vhsbdg

Thank You for reaction. Very appreciate it.

@matyskris8944

Hi. I'm Polish. I am a patriot. I will always defend my homeland, just as our ancestors showed me who repeatedly gave their lives to defend their home. HONOR AND GLORY TO THE HEROES!!! On behalf of myself and my family, thank you for what you do. I suspect that a very small percentage of people in the world know what Poland has gone through during its existence. What a great role we have played in the history of the world. What's more... I will not hesitate to say that all of Europe should thank Poles, and mainly our ancestors, for Vienna 1683. I recommend that you take a look at this topic and you will understand what I mean. 💪 Jan 3 Sobieski and the Polish hussars saved all of Europe. Polish Hussars - angels of death...
