e doing today Captain Dave well  you know how people get their cushions all redone and it all looks really really cool and  you know it's really expensive and really neat well our cushions are shot uh in our salon we  have three or four really really bad ones and we're not in the financial bracket to actually  get them fixed so we bought some leather repair tape and we're going to try to turn this  mess into something you can actually sit on now I don't know what caused this but I'm  I'm guessin

g maybe sitting on it wet caused it to fall apart but it happened like in one  season so we're going to put this stuff on there's really nothing to hold it in place so  I guess I'm going to have to overlap a little bit I can't go all the way because I need it  to wrap and then we'll need another strip up here you need it to reach to here yeah at least  cuz you wanted to get a grip on something solid right so you wanted to go past that yeah yeah  right there which is going to be most of this roll

by the time I put two rows so that's going  to go from here and then this one is going to go from here and that's most of this one  done so well we'll do what we can if we have to get more we'll order more  this stuff's not very expensive and um so I don't know if it's going to  work or not remember that right cool so we're going to use a straight edge and skizzers what do you think sure there so what  are we going to do all right so we're going to go from seam to seam on this one so we're goin

g  to go from there to about this seam here okay and then we'll make a straight edge and then you nod  your head and I'll cut it okay and this is going to be too short but you know what the right  line is the box that came in huh i have make sure it's square and straight about that straight  across there we'll take this edge which I know is straight so what would you say  you know when you hold the marker that way you can actually taste it  and it tastes really really bad so that's shouldn't you

be doing  this I thought like upholster was girl work excuse me cuz that's not working out even with the boat bouncing all over the  place the boat is bouncing all over the place and I have been drinking rum and  I'm trusting you to cut the straight line that's going to be completely  visible I'll stop it the hell was I thinking I don't know oops o no whoops  there's no whoops we don't have any extra material there okay back at it so this is  really really really easy in the videos in the comme

rcials I saw which means it's going  to be almost impossible in real life especially on a moving boat especially on a moving boat and  with a real piece of furniture that's you know not perfect so I think we're going to start and  then curl it around this edge okay to here all right and kind of pull it over what  do you think yeah I think that's a great idea I think it's really super sticky and  very very thin very thin that's probably why it all busted up in the first place is  because it's the

same material what' you do when it came off it folded  it over on itself and now it's all stuck together okay well it folded  over on itself and now the adhesive is probably ruined but we're going  to try it anyway oh look paper tore I guess you pull it toward me up and over yeah was really easy in the commercial it's not going smooth at all yeah but the commercial said it would  go really smooth yeah the commercial said you just slide it right on there's nothing to  it but I don't live in a co

mmercial I live on YouTube so see I'm getting all these  wrinkles umhm and they're not coming out welcome to how not to do it yourself actually that looks better than I thought it  was going certainly better than it was it's not like we're doing a full reupholstery job now  my concern is the part that's underneath may not stick because that's where it was doubled  over on itself mhm and it's not and it's not it may hold though well maybe we'll get some  contact cement put it under there see how

it works so there's the bottom part now  we need to put one more across here do you want to go all the way across or  just use this much so we can overlap it there mhm and go right across  yep I think that would be a great idea so there that's all the french  you get so we don't use navigation tools I hope that leaves us enough  to do that corner it should let's leave it as it should well if  not we'll order another roll okay who skizzers it all skizzers it we have a lot of fetch going on right 

now I know stop trying to make fetch a thing which means the boat's bouncing  and it's being crazy in here just an extra layer of excitement it's always an extra layer of excitement you think  this is fun way do we start this counter top so what we're going to do is flip it  over and start on one side and come across okay is that the plan  I think so oh careful careful careful about there yeah wow okay and then up around the top or  the bottom not yet okay do that last all right it's going to b

e a little lumpy because  of all the damage underneath it yeah I know I can't help you I don't have an extra hand on that was the chime of the we can't  answer you right now we're busy doing stuff imagine how cool it's going to be when we  can afford to actually recover these it's kind of crooked all right so we finished putting that together  now and it looks okay it looks better than I thought it was going to look I'm a little  concerned about the edges but I think it'll get us through a seaso

n at least I hope so so if you  want to put that back so we can see what it looks like oh my gosh that looks so much  better looks like a big old Band-Aid yeah cuz it's a big old Band-Aid so let's put this back Bend way over make sure you get it good  okay all right at least this the same color so for a temporary fix I mean it's not  pretty but uh this works it's better than nothing it was really bad to the  point where you could barely move across it well we're finished with  this let's move on
