Students Can Give 10th and 12th Board Exams Twice From 2025 | ISH News

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced on 19th February 2024 that starting from academic session 2025-26, Class 10th and 12th students will get an option of appearing for board examinations twice a year. Pradhan made the announcement during the launch event of PM SHRI (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India) scheme at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay in Raipur, Chattisgarh. Pradhan said that this decision has been outlined with the new National Education Policy (NEP), introduced in 2020 that aims to reduce students’ academic pressure & stress. He highlighted the New Curriculum Framework (NCF) announced by the Ministry of Education in August 2023 and said that bi-annual board exams will ensure that students get ample time and opportunities to excel academically. They will also get the option to retain the best out of the 2 scores. Pradhan told the students present at the function to keep the best marks obtained after appearing in both the exams and asked if they were happy with the decision. He said “Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji's vision through the NEP is to keep students stress-free, enrich them with quality education, keep students linked with culture and prepare them for the future. This is the formula for making India a developed country by 2047.”However, the new system of bi-annual board exams for Class 10th and Class 12th is not mandatory. Under the PM SHRI scheme, over 211 schools of the Chhattisgarh state will be upgraded on a 'hub and spoke' model (provides a means of distribution that relies on a central location (the hub) and a number of spokes leading out from that hub) by spending ₹2 crore on each of them. Under the model, the mentor institution, called ‘the hub', will be centralized and have the responsibility of guiding the mentee institution through the secondary branches - ‘the spoke' via services provided to the mentee for self-improvement. Students will be benefited with information and communication technology (ICT), digital classrooms/ smart classes, libraries, sport equipment, and laboratories. Features like 10 bagless days in a year, vending machine installation, sanitary pad provision, self defense training, yoga, etc. will also be introduced for the students to get them to focus equally on art, culture and sports, among other activities. #BoardExams #Education #India #HSCboardexam #SSCExams #GovtofIndia #DharmendraPradhan #BreakingNews #LatestNews #IndiaSigningHands #ISH #ISHNews #ISL #IndianSignLanguage #SignLanguage ISH News broadcasts the Daily News and Entertainment online in Deaf-friendly accessible formats which are in Indian Sign Language (ISL), visual images with titles, voice-over and closed-captions.
