The Seven deadly sins: greed, lust, Envy, Pride,
gluttony, wrath and sloth. All of these play major roles in One Piece. But there are seven characters
in particular that perfectly embody each of these seven deadly sins, and no, we are not counting
Vegapunks 7 alter ego's. Starting with Wrath. Basically, Wrath is all about anger, violence,
and letting rage consume you. And if you’ve seen any One Piece at all, you probably know
that there’s quite the share of people who do just that. But in m
y opinion, there’s
three characters that really take the cake. Let’s start with a great example. The beast that
is Rob Lucci, the ruthless leader of Cipher Pol 0. Lucci is practically violence itself in the
world of One Piece. He enforces his will through *Dark Justice,* which basically just
means that he justifies his anger and brutality by pretending to do it for justice, which
let’s be real, he doesn’t actually care about. He dishes out violence and murder to anyone
the world governme
nt’s views necessary. Wrath drives him to become one of
the handful of awakened zoans we’ve seen so far in the story. As far as we
know, awakenings happen when a user's personality perfectly lines up with
the will of their devil fruits. Now if that’s true, Rob Lucci’s wrath and his Leopard
fruit’s carnivorous nature make even more sense! But, even though Lucci is without
any doubt a great example of wrath, I would argue there are two other characters
who embody this sin even better. The n
ext one of them is Captain Eustass Kid,
One of the worst generation captains, and rival to Luffy, Kid is a walking menace
to the grand line. He’s loud, he’s aggressive, and most importantly- he’s ready to fight
anyone to prove his ideals. He is ready to crush anyone through his Jiki Jiki no Mi, or
Magnet Magnet fruit- using crazy moves like Punk Rotten and Punk Gibson- creating literal war
machines to inflict his wrath upon his enemies. He’s crazy and angry, impulsively
taking on Yonko mem
bers like Big Mom, Kaido, and Shanks without hesitating.
Banking on power alone and his anger to crush his enemies… for better or for
worse! Sorry not sorry Useless Kid… And yet, even though Kid and Lucci seem
to fit this sin so perfectly, to me, there is one person even better than those two
when it comes to rage and wrath. You know who I’m talking about. He’s quite literally got burning
hot hatred, and his name is Fleet Admiral Akainu. This Former Admiral delivers the absolute
justice
of the marines in its purest form- destruction. So if you don’t fall in line
with Sakazuki’s will, you better be ready to face the heat.. Because nobody is safe from the
raging destruction of his magma fruit’s powers. It doesn’t matter if you are a marine, pirates,
or anyone in between- get ready to face his wrath. Think about poor Ace and Koby for example!
Right after Ace was turned into a donut, Koby was on the chopping block
for stepping to the big red dog. (potential hesitation/odd look
joke with Clifford on screen) The only people worse than pirates in his eyes
are the revolutionaries. Poor Bartholamu Kuma was getting blasted by his magma on sight. It’s
safe to say Luffy’s got his hands full with this hot head. Speaking of Luffy, let’s
make our way to the next sin, Gluttony. Here’s the short of it. Gluttony is all
about eating or drinking beyond reason. Luffy’s the perfect example of a glutton.
His whole world view revolves around food! Declaring wars and starting battl
es if
it gets in the way of him chowing down. I mean, this future pirate king
countless times has rubber banded back into a fight by being fed a personal
feast. Like during his fight against Kaido, or his battle against Kizaru on egghead.
It’s safe to say Gluttony may be Luffy’s strongest trait- but that doesn’t
make him the perfect figurehead. There’s a few others that definitely could
work! Like the lovely Jewelry Bonney and literal goofball Lucky Roo. They are also
characters who feast
upon hordes of food, are they gluttons? sure! I mean it’s
literally in Bonney’s title. but to embody it as a sin- you really have to let
it consume you **and** those around you. I hear what you’re saying. Manu, it
must be the fearsome Sweet Commander Katakuri? Right? Surely a man with literal
mochi powers and someone who loves donuts must be the perfect example of Gluttony
in one piece. I mean who else could be? Well, eagle eyed viewers may have noticed
that I’ve left out one obvious cont
ender. It’s because she is very clearly above
them all. You know her, you hate her, it’s my pick for the biggest glutton, Big Mom. I just don’t know how you can deny
it. From her very clear food motif, her dangerous appetite, and huge stature…
She is a glutton through and through. She devours everything in front of
her. Food, or villagers! She’s a real menace with her hunger. It’s hard to
say anyone can stomach more in one piece. I mean, come on! The plan to take her
out during the whole c
ake island arc literally revolved around using
a huge cake to take her out. For those reasons, I think it’s a no-brainer that
Charlotte LinLin is our one piece sin of Gluttony. *Yawn* all that talk about food has
gotten me a bit tired. Which is perfect, because Sloth is next up on our sin list. Undoubtedly, the biggest aspect of sloth
is laziness. And I think there is one practitioner of “lazy justice” who may be
the perfect first contender. That’s right, Kuzan. Former Marine Admiral and cu
rrent
Titanic Captain of the Blackbeard Pirates. Once Kuzan witnessed the Ohara incident, he
was never the same. That buster call shook him to the core. After taking out his fellow
marine Saul, he became far lazier and avoided responsibilities to dodge the pressure they
caused him. I can’t blame him, that trauma is deep. It’s definitely something that would make
someone want to avoid their job to say the least. His “too cool” persona that goes along
with his ice-ice powers make him a great
potential candidate- but after his backstory
reveal during egghead, and his fight with Garp on Beehive island- it’s clear this chill
guy is no longer stuck in his lazy ways. There’s definitely a few others that are
pretty lazy and sloth-like. Who you ask? Well, The world’s greatest swordsman
Dracule Mihawk is definitely one. Let’s be honest, his whole thing is avoiding
responsibility. He’d much prefer to hang out on his porcelain throne than be involved in
any of the fighting. You know what
they say, it gets lonely at the top. Definitely in a bit
of a depressive rut it seems. It’s okay Hawkeyes, you’re not the only one stuck in the mud. Your rival Red Hair Shanks isn’t much
better. He’s been MIA for nearly the whole story with some grand plan
cooking- and he hadn’t declared he would be going after the One Piece,
he’d definitely be our top candidate. Another glaring contender is the supreme
leader of the revolutionary army, Monkey D. Dragon. This fearsome criminal has made
ve
ry little effort to do anything. Period. So is that it? Dragon for Sloth 2024? Well
no. There is one even more perfect candidate we have to talk about. To do so, we have to take
a hard detour back towards the marines . Because I believe it is actually former fleet admiral
Sengoku who is our One piece sin of sloth. You see, while the other sins
are about committing bad actions, sloth is the sin about avoiding any action. Which
does not bode well for our golden afro'd buddha. Here’s the deal,
Sengoku pre-time skip
enables a lot of bad to happen by being complacent. What’s worse? The little action he
does take is in defense of the World Government. Sengoku actively and passively is the world
governments lap dog. Which you can definitely say about most marines to be fair. But unlike
others, his position as fleet admiral gives him a lot of information about what is actually
going on up in the holy land. So while others can say they didn’t know any better, Sengoku
clearly knows w
hat he is doing is pretty bad. It’s crazy that he only begins to show
pushback during marineford- but that’s not any better. Because he actively
allows Shanks to end for everyone else's sake. Think about it? It is a
TERRIBLE choice as a marine. I mean- letting a pirate come into your home
and take control? Sounds like someone’s avoiding their moral responsibilities.
But don’t worry, it only gets worse! Once he becomes inspector general for the world
government, Sengoku becomes even MORE co
mplacent and lazy in his responsibilities. That’s
why in my eyes, Sengoku is our sin of sloth. Now that we’ve talked about
the lazy people in the world, let’s pivot over to the real go getters.
The hustlers. The grinders. That’s right, we’ve got to talk about the money movers
of this world, the Sin of Greed contenders. I can’t lie to you all. There’s so many
pirates who could be in the running here. It’s definitely a hard one to narrow down.
But I’ve narrowed it down to 5 characters. How a
bout we start with the strawhat navigator
Nami. She constantly charges her own crewmates and is hustling people for money on every island.
she’s always in it for the money! BUT to be fair, her past gives her a pretty good
reason to be focused on finances. What about someone like Captain
Jack? I mean, we know after his time with the Rocks Pirates he wielded a
bountiful treasure before he died. Well, sure- but the same could be said about
Roger or so many other great pirates! Maybe it’s Wapo
l! You know, this guy.
the king of Drum Island who we meet and see foiled in his consistent greedy
escapades! However after the reverie- he may be fearing more for his life than
wanting that sweet sweet cash money. I do have to admit, there is someone that I just
had to talk about. He may be non-canon, but he also may be the strongest contender. I’m talking
about the main villain of One Piece FIlm Gold, Gild Tesoro. A casino royale who wields the powers
of gold itself. Though I can hear th
e angry mobs now, so we might have to knock you out of the
running for not really existing. Sorry Tesoro! We all know who really takes the cake. In the
story, it’s hard to give the spot of the Sin of Greed to anyone besides Sir Crocodile.
Former Warlord, and Cross Guild mogul. He oozes money! Look at those fresh
suits, and the shiny gold claw. Plus those masterful business skills?
Croc is just the obvious answer. His MO is all about the money. He takes
over islands, gets that cold hard cas
h, and operates his various criminal organizations. This is the kind of sigma male mindset
you need to really show what’s up. All good criminal masterminds and business
men have greed at their core. So when you add being a pirate to Crocodile’s titles? It’s
clear why nobody else could outdo him. Sounds like he should have considered being Sir
Loanshark instead of Crocodile… but we can work on that branding later. Congratulations
on adding Sin of Greed to your resume Mr. 0. Okay, that’s eno
ugh talk about the money.
I’m starting to feel like the wolf of wall street. So let’s move on to our next
key sin. Lust. The sin of pure desire, but normally in a more… hot and heavy fashion. Knowing that, it’s pretty clear why some
of our passionate lovers like Sanji, Brooke, and Franky are great candidates. Those fools are
head over heels with lust for just about anyone. The same goes for Momonosuke, who despite
being a little bit younger is just as much of a perv as his straw hat mentor
s.
These strawhat boys are rowdy and let their desires be known to many.. .arguably
too many… and there *IS* something to be said about such public displays of lust
boosting their chances at the title. However, lust isn’t just about the physical-
look at Nico Robin for example. Her innate curiosity and desire to learn the true history
of the world is very much a true form of lust. What’s more full of desire than throwing
caution to the wind and putting your life on the line for your dream?
Lusting and
craving the secrets of the world counts! Yeah don’t worry, I get it. that may
not be as convincing. Let’s move it back to the more traditional forms
of lust with our champion of lust- The pirate empress, Boa Hancock. Now this shouldn’t come as a shock.
who else personifies desire more than a warlord pirate empress- who despite
having everything- lusts for Luffy above all. Hancock’s lovesickness is an issue! It makes her
sick, literally! You can’t really say that for anyone el
se. You think I’m kidding? Boa has lust
so deep, it’s in her DNA. I mean, look at S-Snake! She’s the seraphim made from her lineage factor,
who seems to have similar feelings for luffy. That is lust at the atomic level.
She is truly down bad. Which makes it an easy win for the pirate
empress being our Sin of Lust. We’ve covered 5 sins so far, so we
are entering the end game! How about we shift from pure desire of something achievable, to the desire of something that’s unachievable.
That’s
right, the sin of Envy is up next. And with it, there are a lot of contenders for
Envy, and realistically any one of them could be the top choice. I mean, pirates
and envy tend to go hand in hand. So lets bring it back to the east blue and
start with the former sun pirate Arlong. Arlong’s desire for the liberation of the
Fishmen led him to some unruly actions. Because of this mindset, he happily ruined the
lives of the east blue. Even hurting our beloved Nami, just so he could make Fishmen
be seen above
the rest of the races in the world. This shark was truly envious of the other races' social
status. A man with motives and goals driven by pure envy. It’s safe to say if he lasted longer
into the series, could have been our winner. Which means that it MUST be the Yonko,
Kaido that steals the spot right? That’s a fair claim. You see, Kaido yearned for
the power and rivalry of his former Rocks crew- and grew to become incredibly envious of Joyboy
in the process. Unfortunately f
or him, the slapstick rubber boy already had been deemed
Joyboy, but it just wasn’t known to him yet. So once Kaido realized that he could never
be Joyboy- he slipped into an alcoholic state forgoing most things, craving defeat at the hand
of those with the strength to defeat him. However, as an Oni, it became a bit too difficult
of a task to achieve. This only compounding that envy. Turns out the azure dragon may have
actually been Green with envy this whole time. But enough about Fishmen
and Dragon Fish… man?
Neither of them hold a candle to the real show stealer. It’s almost comical actually. The
one who has the most envy is actually the highest status person we’ve talked about
so far. He is THE killer clown, Buggy. Oh yeah, that’s right. This dastardly jester is
truly the most envious person on the high seas. If you name someone he’s got a relationship with,
I guarantee he’s got a burning desire to be them. Don’t believe me? Think about Luffy. Buggy
is jealous of just a
bout anything he does. How about Shanks? Sure Buggy is a little
heart broken because of his old friends broken promises, but he’s spiteful and
envious of what Shanks has achieved. I hear you loud and clear. Surely Buggy
isn’t envious of the other Cross Guild Leaders? They are all equals. And I mean,
he’s literally the face and leader! Well, on the outside sure. But take a peek
behind that curtain and it’s clear Buggy sure is jealous of the power and commanding
presence that Mihawk and Cro
codile impose. For a Yonko, Buggy spends a lot of time in
the shadows of those he wants to be like. Here’s hoping that when he finally goes to
claim the one piece this time, he doesn’t get struck with another wave of sickness. I’m
rooting for you and your envious nature Buggy. Well, here it is everyone. The moment you’ve all
been waiting for. Without question, the greatest sin. The one all of the other anime put on the
pedestal for good reason. The final sin, Pride. Whether you’re the son o
f a demon king, the prince
of the saiyans, or the king of the volleyball court, Pride is the sin that manifests in some
of the strongest characters there is. And in One Piece, this is ABSOLUTELY the case. So let’s
get to analyzing the 5 figureheads of pride. Let's start with an obvious frontrunner. The pirate hunter and soon to be world’s
greatest swordsman, Roronoa Zoro. Now it’s undeniable if you consume
any eastern media that a warrior's pride is his greatest weapon. Pride
reinforces al
l of their beliefs, becoming the motive behind
each swing of their blade. Now give that warrior three swords? And
you’ve got yourself one big bundle of pride. The moss headed vice captain wears
that mantle of pride well. Zoro puts himself in harm's way to defend
his ideals and those of his captain, and as a result he’s always ready to take on
a challenge. It doesn’t matter if his enemy is above or below him, it is his duty as a crewmate
and swordsman to wield his pride against them. Though
, he’s not the only warrior to embody
this pride. As our next two characters are absolutely giant contenders for the crown. Of
course I am talking about Dorry and Brogy. The Captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates take their
warriors' pride to a whole other titanic level. These two warriors have been fighting over a
silly disagreement for over 100 years. That’s a long fight to bank on warrior’s pride! they
may embody it better than anyone else in one piece- but if you really think about it, t
here
is far more to pride than just a soldier's honor. Pride can be far darker and more twisted. Full of evil and superiority. Such is the case for
Vinsmoke Judge- Leader of the Germa Kingdom. Judge has a pride and arrogance that lead
him on a path of scientific manipulation and villainy. This tyrannical ruler laid
claim to the east blue and the grandline with the immense technological power of Germa.
A power he has a ***little*** too much pride in. Newsflash Judge, riding around on snails
may not
be the best for your branding if you’re trying to be taken super seriously as this sort of prideful
mastermind. Despite his silly means of travel, Judge is no joke. He commands respect from those
who oppose him due to the sheer strength of his forces. Something built on the darkest
sense of pride there is. Superiority. Though if we are talking about
superiority and birthright, then it's clear who our Sin of Pride really is. You knew it was coming. Donquixote DoFlamingo
is without a
question the clear choice. This wicked puppetmaster stands to show
what the sickest and most vile sense of pride is. Doffy has the arrogance and rotten
evil of the Celestial Dragons in spades. Showing that when you believe you deserve
something, you can just take it by force. Clearly Doflamingo is truly the fallen
angel of One piece. He is obsessed with his birthright status and overtakes
the nation of Dressrosa to prove it. Every action he takes? Vile. Every word he speaks?
Spiteful. Eve
ry scene he is in? Prideful. If we are talking about sinful characters, there is
no more sinful character than an angel in hell. Since Doffy thinks all others are lowly
trash, he does not view them with respect at all. He thinks that they are destined
to be controlled by him. And as a result, speaks his mind with NO hesitation. Because in the
mind of this puppet master? He is 100% correct. And if that’s not toxic pride at its
peak? I don’t know what it is. Which is why I have him as One Pie
ce’s sin of Pride. Speaking of Doflamingo, a lot of the sins
seem to be major villains in the world of One Piece. I guess when you’re a villain,
you are bound to be a bit rotten. But have you ever wondered what they are really like
at their core, what really drives them and how powerful they actually are? Well, If
you want to learn more about Doflamingo, Akainu, Crocodile, and every other villains In One
Piece, you can watch this video right here next. Thank you so much for watching, if you

Leaving out Enel for pride may also be considered a sin
Shouldn't the candidate for Sloth be Gecko Moria?
Ppl who think one piece is the best anime🐐 👇
Gluttony i could see being Wapol just because it is his whole character, he eats it all and takes everything leaving his people nothing
Now I would love to see a 7 heavenly virtues as one piece characters.
Id have said Blackbeard is Greed, as he has his sights on the whole world and he is pretty much stealing all of the devil fruits
I was wondering, would Kaido work as a candidate for Wrath
honestly, lucci is perfect for wrath. He killed 500 capture marines just so the pirates wouldn't have any leverage
Bro its insane how this guy can pump out so many high quality, long videos so consistently
It's odd that while watching the anime there is not a single moment I could think of that I found Rob Lucci Angry, he was always calm and collected.
Great to see you back at it again with another amazing video!
Pride : Doflamingo Sloth : Dragon Wrath : Akainu Gluttony : Big Mom Lust : Sanji Envy : Buggy Greed : Nami
Big Mom for every sin, but sloth. Her gluttony, lust, pride, greed and wrath is crazy.
I thought Straw Hats will dress up like Meliodas and his friends from The Seven Deadly Sins.
Wrath: Akainu (Killed people for no reason and is always upset) h.m.: Lucci Gluttony: Big Mom (Cannibalism speaks for itself) h.m.: Luffy Sloth: Gecko Moria (Gave up and made his crew do everything while he just sat around) h.m.: Imu Greed: Tie between Nami and Blackbeard(Monetary Nami is by far the winner because during pretimeskip the only thing Nami thought about was money. Blackbeard wants the entire planet and all the power possible) h.m.: Orochi Lust: Sanji(Fishman island exists) h.m.: Apsolom Envy: Usopp(He constantly views his own power as lacking and sees others as far superior like Dorry, Broggy, and Luffy and his final dream is to become a brave warrior of the sees) H.m.: Luffy Pride: Doflamingo(He's a celestial dragon + has actual power to brag about) H.m.: Whitebeard
The quality of Ohara's videos are insane
props to the editors for making these awesome animations and transitions!
Doffy: I m the sin of pride😤😤 That one noble fishman whom brook fought: U were chosen because I camouflaged.
These videos are getting EPIC!!! Keep up the work man, I love and I mean really love your videos, and I rewatch them all the time, more than 5 times a day
