[Music] foreign [Applause] [Music] I am the health occupations instructor here at the career Technology Center at Lackawanna County when students come in they're either coming into our program in their sophomore or Junior year and in that first year they're learning foundations after their first year here they are going to choose a pathway either medical assisting or they're going to be going into the patient care technician program once they reach their Junior and Senior year we have our lab ar
ea and we start to incorporate the things that we need to do in order to start working with patients hi I'm Carly Edwards and I'm a student at CTC of Lackawanna County Health occupations program has really prepared me to go out into the workforce especially because I'm a senior and I decided to do co-op at Geisinger Co-op is something that we offer to our senior students they have the opportunity to literally interview with Geisinger hospital and through that process Geisinger will then hire the
m as an employee students are then allowed to leave and go out and they work about three days a week and they're getting paid working with patients and working with nurses so it's just giving the students an edge when they're going into their first year of nursing school I feel like not a lot of people get this opportunity it showed me how to be a nursing assistant before even being a nursing assistant and I think CTC has really provided me this great wonderful opportunity [Music] [Applause] [Mu
