[Music] pack your bags and take a trip to Cleveland Ohio this spring the city is only about a two-hour drive from Pittsburgh which is very convenient and has something to offer for every traveler Karen lock of sand and snow joins us now to share some fun activities you can do with the whole family we love a quick trip yes yes you may hate the Browns but check out the city explored It's Not Just Sports I am very excited to learn that too yeah no get that out of the way it's our friendly neighbor
to the west okay so like you said it's only a 2-hour drive all freeway all the way and once you get downtown it's just absolutely gorgeous oh I can't wait okay so where are we staying okay I have three really good places so I was just there last weekend believe it or not my daughter and I stayed at the Ritz Carlton I mean if we're going Swanky we're going Swanky with theit it's on property restaurant is amazing it's very affordable too um it has the most it has the best fitness center of all hot
els in Cleveland and that includes this steam shower that's life changing say no more sauna okay so next door to that is the Renaissance Cleveland and it's being rebranded to called the hotel Cleveland in April that's where the Beatles stayed when they came into town I know and they have the swarm of girls and the mob look at this this is gorgeous well if it's good enough for them I I guess it's good enough for us if it's good enough for the Beatles it's got kind of FR us and then a more afforda
ble option is just down the street it's the holiday and express it's made from an old Bank so the architecture is stunning all the goodies all right what are we doing when we're there what what to see in downtown Cleveland well first you're going to go to University Circle that's the most concentrated area in a square mile of arts and culture in the United States so if you love museums go there so Cleveland Art Museum Cleveland Museum of Art free no matter when you go and you're going to see pai
ntings like Dolly and Monae and dega you're going to see the Masters it's like going to you know DC to see the Smithsonian but small I truly had no idea any of this existed I know they even have a Hall of Armor with like jousting it's so cool okay next door to that is the Museum of Natural History and of course so you're going to get dinosaurs planetarium that's showcasing their total solar eclipse because they're in the path of totality in April I know and then next door to that you're going to
get the Cleveland History Center if you love vintage cars the entire downstairs is dedicated to vintage cars upstairs right now they're doing a fashion exhibition and how electricity changed how women dressed because of the colors they changed colors and styles and patterns so much fun you just checked it off for every member of my family right and with you at the flowers I can't discount the Cleveland Botanical Garden so indoor and outdoor Gardens beautiful no matter what time of year it's won
derful okay so now let's head downtown okay three really good museums Rock and R Hall of Fame if you love rock I know you're a country fan but there's still some country things oh no I could do it all so it's six floors of rock memorabilia I even saw something from Donnie Iris there when I was there last week you know his birthday was earlier this week I know I turned 81 happy birthday Donnie he's do in a concert in March I heard so okay got to give props to Donnie Irish there's a giant Elvis ex
hibition there's things on the Beatles of course next door to that great lake Science Center oh perfect for the kids multi level all Hands-On talks about lakes rivers but science and then one that may not be on your radar and my daughter and I had so much fun it is called Coco's selfie spot and it is 70 plus backdrops and backgrounds for selfies it is it's the largest selfie Museum in Ohio that's my daughter I know and they have everything from Little shopa horror background to Narnia to Tiffany
's um there's a Harry Potter one it's so much fun okay classy dresser she has that would be blast she is like the Vintage dresser I she has the co style inred I know and then the Greater Cleveland Aquarium too okay so it's not like ours it's a little different it's its own entity and it's only a few minutes away away from downtown but it has so when you first walk in it's all about local life and fish and things but the Peace Day resistance is a 250t glass shark tunnel so you can stand underneat
h there and the sharks swim over you and you can get the best pictures and video the little ones love it just as much as adults I absolutely adore it and then last but not least the Cleveland Zoo so similar to ours in that it has um themed areas uh according to continents but one unique thing it has that we don't is the rainforest it has a two-story indoor rainforest with all the tropical plants and animals are upstairs and you can see everything from aners to my daughter's favorite Cappy baras
she's obsessed with them right now they're so cute they are so cute but they're big did you know how big they are they're like this big I have to go to Cleveland I know they have sloths and it's just precious so definitely go there and this you took some of those pictures just recently right those are all mine so and all the animals were out it was yeah the elephants were out was a sunny day it was chilly but it was still sunny and the zoos open year round of course weather permitting but if you
can get away from her oh my God this sounds so fun see now you got to go I got I am I'm swaying your opinion you sure you you sold Cleveland and I didn't think anyone good to me thank you that was awesome thank you if you're interested in checking out the sand and snow travel blog we'll have a link on our website kk.com talk Pittsburg
