s that okay well here we are let me look at the right camera because I was obviously looking at the wrong camera there so we're going to head over we're on our Fire TV Cube today so if you guys aren't aware of it we're going to scroll down and the app that received a major update is tub now you guys can already see their brand new logo this was actually announced during a Super Bowl campaign and if you don't know tub is owned by Fox Corporation so they're like a fox fox Enterprise whatever they

own a lot of stuff but tub is actually owned by them which surprised me I didn't know that I actually thought they were their own uh their own uh applic like privately owned but anyways we're going to click on it you're going to see their brand new startup little bit of screen there it it is a lot more refined so realistically what did they change in the app did they offer more shows and movies like we can see here which by the way tub actually does have one of the best selections of TV shows an

d movies um and they do have actual good content on here did they add a more refined kid section so is that what else they changed is there more in here more shows and movies like did they is that what the major update is or is it the live TV section that all of us know and love where you can get tons of shows and movies and live t directly from their easy to use Enterprise well I am uh I can say to you confidently it's none of that literally all they did in this change is rebranding so it is ju

st new purple logo new slight design new startup screen and that's it and this is why it's a bad thing okay now before we go into that I also want to point out I realized too recently that the live TV section is now in Canada as well so if you didn't have the live TV in Canada before it should be now available without having to use a VPN so that's pretty nice although remember using a VPN will get you more channels now I have to ask my whole audience this are you guys tired of the same old borin

as anybody else noticed that they pretty much did an inverse now remember this is Fox free is owned by Amazon so I wonder if this is like a rival thing but they did like an inverse freebie logo look at the 2b1 now look at the freeb one come on those are like the same I mean like a slightly lighter purple but come on come on come on come on come on come on that's ridiculous that is so bad but let's talk about why why is this a bad thing why is this a negative because I typically don't call this s

ort of thing a negative it's just a a rebranding to make it more catchy it's a bad thing because this proves that ad supported content is extremely popular and I don't think ad supported content is bad in fact I think ad supported content is good when it's free because when it's free you're getting it for free so you're just trading your time you know your a little bit of brain space to watch a car ad that maybe you'll purchase probably not but maybe maybe you'll decide to purchase a Kia one of

these times you see their their ad on free TV but the real problem here is not 2btv I said freebie 2btv but it's these other companies like Netflix that added in let me move this over and add supported tier or like Prime video which you now have to pay an extra $3 to get without ads that's right you have to pay more to get without ads on Prime video or Disney plus which I didn't click on an article here but it also is offering an ad supported tier because one thing these companies have discovere

d which they always knew but they didn't know how successful it could be until 2B and then Netflix and all these other companies freey is that ads are more valuable than those few extra dollars a month so why not charge you a base subscription say yeah you got to watch some ads like suck it up because they know you're not going to cancel and I'll be honest I haven't cancelled yet and I still keep it so who am I to talk but with the prices increasing and we'll be talking about later in the week h

ere how Netflix is also looking to increase their plan price again in 24 after seeing a pretty hefty increase in 2023 already and adding ad supported tiers and doing password restrictions so they did all that and they're like it's still not enough we still need more we need more and it it's as simple as that and it really is how much can I get out of your pocket and once I get it all out of your pocket can I get more we have to remember Netflix and these subscriptions Services were typically a r

eplacement for cable because it was more affordable it was adree you didn't have to watch a ton of commercials in between everything and it was on demand without leaving your house you're now taking away two of those major benefits the ads and the fact that it was cheaper than cable so now the only benefit is yeah there is no Blockbuster anymore so we don't have to leave our house anyways but the only benefit is I don't even know anymore it is basically cable at the end of the day that's what it
