hi there this is matt with gram ventures and  today we are out at the lemay marymount car museum this is an interesting location it was built  in the 1900s originally was a military academy turned boys school and then in the early 90s  harold lemay purchased it now harold lemay he has a quite a large sanitation company basically  picks up the garbage and with all those proceeds he bought a lot of cars and stores a lot of  them here there's an additional museum in tacoma but this is the spanaway
location that's called  marymount the building is really neat looking it's very historic and part of the deal  when he bought it he agreed to preserve it and actually kind of upgrade it and  it's kind of an event center as well so hope you join us on this and see this interesting  location and car museum are you guys excited is it cold enough for you and as you can see we had a  little bit of snow out here and we're bundled up pretty good now off in the distance there's some  of the different hu
ge warehouses that have cars and this is the main building right here as you  can see the brick structure really neat looking and this entire complex was the military academy  and boys school and now it's home to many unique and collectible cars now here's the front  here i like this this sign they have up front they also got other vintage signs which are really  cool look at this gentleman welcoming you here he's all messed up and then from a distance  we saw ronald mcdonald and evie wanted to
say hi oh he's got his own name tag i'll sit next  to you are you sitting next to ronald mcdonald okay we're heading on inside  to check in oh looky here okay we've checked in they give you this  little guide it gives you kind of a map of some of the different stuff they have they got  a hall gymnasium rifle range room orphan room and then they have two additional outbuildings  with additional cars so we're going to check out this main building first there's harold lemay  right there and up fron
t they got a gift shop here that's got fire on it huh yeah  so there's some collectibles some oh they got some postcards and i really like this old safe oh yeah they have some hot wheels  here huh oh and i like these old car shirts that's similar to what you're  wearing today i know it's pretty fly i may have a guest book here  you want to sign us in haley now one thing to keep in mind please do not  touch or drool on the exhibits so i don't know if that's because people like the car so much  th
ey drool or maybe they got a issue with their got mouth cool horse up there okay museum  entry here we go into the main area oh i like this whole gas pump not only do they have vintage cars but they  have other vintage stuff too look at this old timey cash register now i picture this  would be somewhere in like an apartment store department store in like the 50s  bringing up some christmas merch now as you can see they got vehicles  down below and they also got some up top and then that one's go
t like a little tiny camper  with a weird-looking doll it's a 1976 compass echo house trailer from the looks of it they have  little plaques in front of the different vehicles see if there's anything unique  that we really like i love these i want this card isn't that nice we  got a volkswagen bug and it's got a cool surfboard we got a woody 1971 beetle  woody i've never seen one with with wood on the side that's really unique that's so cool and  what's nice about all these cars is they've been
restored really well and in really good shape  that's super cool they got some like race style cars a 50 crossley hotshot roadster and then look  at this one a 1975 rup centaur and it's got like a motorcycle fro forks on the front which is really  unique and this little orange thing up there it's called the 1973 bond bug and i don't know  if it was has anything to do with james bond but it's pretty interesting looking  this almost looks similar to it now moving on further kind of a huge showpiec
e  here in the middle it's a 1935 styer 120s i don't know much about it but it is sweet  looking and i also like to i got i forget what logo that is that pegasus it's some sort  of automotive related we'll have to look it up they got the three stooges in the corner  there and they also have the sarcophagus which not only they have cars they just have interesting  pieces i don't think this is like original but it is neat looking mommy liked  it too you saw a mummy right there and not only regular
cars i got interesting pieces  around they got this kind of monster guy there they got different cases with all sorts of vintage toys look over here they got all sorts of  different cars and i said in the beginning this was a boys school and originally military  academy and they have all these old pictures from when it was a boys school in  a military academy back in the day and it just since turned into a car museum but  they have quite a collection of vintage pictures from the day a lot of hi
story here i really  love this deep blue color of this one oh yeah isn't that one your favorite  color yeah it's a 1939 hd prototype that's so cool man that's in good shape metallic help and if you look up top there an old  texaco and look they got the oscar mayer mobile and a couple other small cars up there and  i'm not sure if that's the same one if anybody is older like me the show family matters that  looks like steve urkel's bug a 59 bmw azetta it's a one door sedan and it may be hard  to
see from down here but the one door is up front that's how you get in this thing do  you think she saw a monster car look in here look at this dragon car this  is a 2006 dragster draco that is really interesting looking it's all  dragon themed look at the controls in here oh and it looks from these pictures it  looks like it breathes fire and blows smoke isn't that something now now this one's really cool too this  is right across from the dragon car this is a beautiful paint job it may be hard
to  see on camera but there's frankenstein and maybe that's van helsing or somebody with a torch  it has lots of detail almost like tree bark it looks like or scales or something  hey this is bad when they do even inside and look inside the interior  oh it's got a spider web steering wheel and the actual upholstery is so neat looking look  at this thing and then hi inside the engine it has a spider web got a spider web in the engine  and look there's old frankenstein himself yeah that paint sche
me is amazing beautiful and  it's it's it's almost it's like an old-timey wagon converted into this monster mobile it's  also right next to this beautiful 48 chevrolet the car oh yeah the cars here have been  beautifully restored the paint jobs are beautiful this one i was gonna say if you kind of look  at different angles it may be hard to see on camera but it's almost purple at certain angles and this place has is kind of an homage  not just to gasoline-powered vehicles but look at this old bu
ggy up top  here a mennonite buggy closed body okay we'll go look in a second  here's another buggy over here quite unique looking these old buggies  kind of suspended up in the air one thing i'm kind of a sucker for us these  vintage signs i like these restored vintage signs mostly automotive related there's one there as  well as i like that old bf goodrich sign up there kind of adds to the overall theming and back  here in this corner got a 1950 suda baker and i don't think it's functional bec
ause i'd  throw 10 cents in it but that coca-cola machine look at that that is definitely a relic  and i don't know the history of that at all but back in the back there they have original  pancake house sign home of kentucky fried chicken and this to the right is actually an ice cream  vendor bicycle oh yeah look at that that's so cool it was five cents for ice cream huh imagine that  albeit it's a little bit disappointing because the ice cream there's nothing in there i've been  told and the c
oca-cola machine is dry so we're gonna have to look elsewhere for refreshment okay  this is the same room that has the dragon as well as the frankenstein vehicle and everly just  has to show me this one this is a 57 desoto wow look on the fenders here there  are looks like some dragons and teeth and look at the front almost  reminds me of something from skeletor there's another fender over there  and look up front here there's a pair of hands there's some talons and look at the swords oh look at
that it's kind of a cool picture  of it and then in the back i don't know what this is supposed to be but it's got like weird i  don't know if that's supposed to be the exhaust but it's like these these towers and look at the  bling bling on the side there oh look there's all sorts of other little details here's like almost  looks like a weapon or a spear on the side there so this almost looks like a shield this definitely  looks like something out of a movie the gothic coach is what it's calle
d come on there's even  a picture of somebody with alice cooper there it's kind of hard to see and do you want to know  the best part of this vehicle the cheetah flooring oh i didn't even see that oh yes now that is  definitely custom some cheetah selling point there okay the second room is by far my favorite  i really like the old frankenstein vehicle another retro gasoline pump flying a gasoline  38.5 cents a gallon i think it's a little more now and look this is a brass hose nozzle  collectio
n donated by bill bill was in the brass nozzles i guess and there's  the big old one down below there now i'm walking to one of the main buildings that's  got a lot of cars in it so let's take a look now this is a huge huge warehouse  here and there's a lot to see not only do they have cars and other memorabilia  but look this old mickey mouse movie projector that is really unique looking an old hi-fi  stereo and look at this old polaroid got this old-timey radio here and actually they  have an
entire display case full of radios these old-timey radios remind me a christmas story and we also learned look at this here would be  hard to see this wd-40 can is actually a radio it's got an antenna with some things on it so  you can keep it incognito in your shop there there's a ton of retro signs if  you're into that you got some denny's this old texaco sign this jukebox is awesome elvis he's singing to it didn't see the songs  that were on oh yeah i don't know any of them yeah taking a look
glad ragdoll oh yeah mr sandman's on  there i'll never know by four lads this is the top top 20 billboard baby mr sandman is the only  one for five plays it's 25 cents two plays 10 and one play for five so you get 25 cents  you can listen to three of these top hits now we learned that so this big building  was the gymnasium of the boys school and it makes sense since if you take a look it's a basketball hoops on each side and  they got this huge michelin man and then the queen of biker bay boul
evard right here like this old neon that may be more  modern but it's still neat looking i really like this a1 auto wrecking sign  glowing here i don't know if you can pick it up in the camera but you can hear  a lot of the glow of some of this neon which is really neat hi guys it's me haley and i'm  going to show you my favorite car i've seen so far this is a 1995 volvo 850 um it's an art car for  the streetcar project it was by a college senior um for their design project which is really  cool
and there was actually 30 plus artists around the world who participated in making  art on this car so let me show you some of my favorite details i really really like the  inside of the car it looks like they crocheted seat covers and they even painted by the different  buttons and everything this whole entire car is just filled with art which i really love  and there's even a pinata in the back seat so you can smash it yeah so there is always  a party when you're in this car apparently and an
d even in the very back they have these  really cool eyeballs here i saw them um and they both say i am okay so we were talking  with one of the employees about how this was a gymnasium and since this was a military  academy i guess they have an underground rifle range that you can go see and i don't know  what's left there but he said back in the day they'd practice their marksmanship downstairs  underneath kind of in the basement area of this gymnasium so we'll show you so  this is where the r
ifle range room is the rifle range room and from the looks of it the  range has been converted into additional storage and as you can see it's got a huge collection i  didn't even know this was down here i've outboard boat motors all sorts of different flavors i i  had no idea or didn't expect this to be down here and uh maybe somebody's into this  collection-wise but i don't know i find outdoor motors to be more of a  utility than a work of art but if they don't have it it wasn't made from the
hooks of  it this one's pretty unique looking this big funky green looking one some of them look  a little space-like almost maybe some robot this one is the wizard superpower and back here  further in the rifle range a lot more vehicles this is unique looking it's a 1970 mini beep it's  a mini beep it looks like a replica jeep for kids and this look at this for you disney fans  out there this is from mr toad's wild ride this looks like a ride vehicle says this is  part of the mr toad's wild rid
e attraction at magic kingdom in disney florida ran from 71 to 88.  look at this unique this is called the snow runner i don't know how much it would run on  snow but it's got a track in the back and it's got a ski up front and it looks kind of  like a motorcycle or maybe even like a leaf blower but i don't know how well they worked i guess if  they did work great you'd probably see them all over the place but maybe that's why it's hanging  here on the wall and now that i've seen several of thes
e pegasus it is the mobile oil symbol which  is pretty cool looking so this gymnasium area is really neat to see there's a lot of vehicles and  stuff here the rifle range room is really neat and we got a couple more areas before we're done with  this place this next area is off the gymnasium oh and looky here i absolutely love a  vintage delorean look there's even a model now this is just delorean this isn't a mock-up  like back in the future but this model is like it has a back to the future sh
irt back  to future shirt i love the gold the wing doors and the stainless steel this one's actually  in really good shape it's at 83. delorean oh my goodness that's so cool oh and here's  the muscle got a 80 ferrari 308 that thing is i think it's gorgeous and one thing i really  like about some of these old vehicles is the hood ornament they're very unique and kind of  almost it's like a signature for the vehicle such as this one as well if you  take a look maybe a eagle or a swan they got some
reminds me of  vegas they got some retro some video slots another jukebox and  another slot machine here as you can see this place is full service and if you're  a fan of vintage size this is your place i really like this one richfield high octane  gasoline got like an eagle on top of it the neon is really neat a really unique  car a 1990 red stiletto custom-built car looks like a big shoe with wheels on it the wheel  on the back is so good look at on the back here very unique looking looks lik
e  something to be like in a monster parade and if you're in the market for a used vehicle  it says use cars okay they're not great cars they're not excellent cars they're just okay  problem with okay cars is the warranty is five minutes or 50 feet so you kind of kind of roll  the dice here a little bit with an okay used car okay we saw the main areas and now we're back  where we began in the gift shop that was the lemay museum out here in marymount what an interesting  place lots of unique vehi
cles and stuff to see they have a lot of collectibles i didn't realize  all the other collectible and vintage items just besides cars they have here which is really neat i  especially like this old scoreboard behind me but there's a lot more to this place there's  an additional two warehouses full of cars that you can see it's already becoming a long day  so we're not going to check those out today but definitely if you have the time they give you  like a little trolley thing to take over there
and you can have walking as well as guided  tours through that area but it's a lot to see in one trip we just saw the main area the  basement and definitely is a lot to see and a fun place to check out a lot of times there's  some good discount tickets online whether it's through groupon or otherwise and you can find  some decent deals to come see this place on the cheap so if you like these type of travel videos  and content give us a big thumbs up it helps the channel also if you're not a subs
criber please  do make sure and smash that bell and additionally we have a patreon now five dollars a month will  get you a postcard personalized from the family of a location we visited thanks for joining us  and we hope you join us on our next adventure this guy raced so hard he's just dead
