In this video, we'll be exploring more of the incredible city of Gwangju. Yesterday, we were blown away by the futuristic skyline of China's third largest city. So today we decided to head to a different part of town and explore some new areas. Join us as we devour some more delicious Chinese food and find architecture that makes us question Is this even China? Today's video begins in a familiar place the East Gwangju Railway Station. Where are we heading to next? We're going downtown. And baby,
let's go out. We have some parts for us. All right, We got our. We got our pastries. And now we're in line for our restaurant. It's very busy. I mean, it's like noonish 1:00, and there's a wait there in a queue. We got a little queue thing. We're lining up to ride our horse. That's what the translation thinks. This is another chain. We actually saw the one we ate in last night in this place. And now this restaurant was also in the middle of the world. And now it's here. I don't know what it's W
hat is it called? Queen King did chain on taste That was perfect pronunciation. They call me Ni hao. It's not racist. I don't know. But you need to eat your puff pastry for dessert. We got there big. There's some big tarts. We know tarts are Cantonese because we've tried them in Hong Kong. But how are they in Quanzhou? In mainland China? They're warm. My feeling. So we might want to eat them now. Let's try. So I got an A. She is a boy. You could have got CS lava, but you didn't. Sorry. You mean
to say egg or custard custard cheese ball. We got nice little gripping the holes. it's so flaky and it breaks. my gosh. It all. It's not a nice gaping hole. You can't even hold it. wow. Look, from the outside, it's almost like a graham covering. So it's got a really sweet singing. And he's so teeny and maybe that B9 all right. Where? And wow, it's busy in here finalizing my review on the custard tart. It's kind of got like a Graham outer the constable inside isn't too sweet and you really get sa
lty with the cheese in there, but pretty solid overall. I didn't realize it would be so hard to grab it. As crazy as a very flaky, soft, oozy, warm dish that I want to dig into my tart. I got here first. The coconut tart, this one staying together a lot nicer than yours. Ellis. What the heck? I'm so jealous. it's like a coconut muffin wrapped around in that egg tart, like outside. And it's really tasty. It's not even that coconut. It's more buttery, but it's really good and really sweet. I like
that. That's good. That's good. To move on to the milk tart. It has to be good, right? The milk spring rolls got yesterday were amazing. Those are delicious. And okay, it's not bad, but definitely an egg. Start with milk. because the top tastes like an egg. That's not bad. I prefer this over an egg. It's a little more sweet and sweet enough for me, I think for a pastry. But soon on, that wasn't matter. Part. We got some boy noodle heads. That's officially what they're called that. So it's. It's
food from the official province, which is in the northwest. I'm not 100% sure like what their big city is there, but I just know it's in the northwest because I looked up what these angles are and these noodles are just like on the wall. There's also some buns we got. So we got to imagine they're popular, but it kind of looks spicy. These noodles are young or something like that or something with peas and A's and pans. And these there's an AI in there too, but that's what they're called. So I gu
ess all this makes this up. I would assume that's what you're supposed to do. Makes all these oils around, garlic's around. It's a big bowl, but like five noodles. I thought this was corn, but it's not. What is it? A lot of corn, too. I don't know. It's like some sort of bean or something. That's not really good. It's smell. come on, dude, this is going to get messy. I think. Trying to grab these big noodles and there's a red sauce. Don't wear your white shirts today, everybody. All right, Well,
it's pretty mixed up. These are going to slide all right. Out of the chopsticks for here, I think. Grab my bowl and I will indulge myself on a ball. That's all right. Don't even ask Silly oil with chopsticks. my gosh. my gosh. It's so big. I'm eating lunch. How do you get this out? I'm going to try to cut it and try to cut it. This might be illegal, but it's my only option at this point. We're here ready to rock and roll, baby, as giblets games would say. these are delivery boy. Yeah, they're j
ust going to launch. my gosh. It's just so big. It's like I was on your noodle all day then, just so you can so you can know if it's spicy or not. So you can prepare yourself. All right. The husband, it's very interesting because it's not like a sensitive foil. It's not like there's not a sauce. So it doesn't come with these saucy flavors. It just has a very mild, oily texture and sensation in your mouth. The spice is very, very mild. How much at all? They should be fine. Very prepared. With our
top six deals. Before we came to China, I went to like one restaurant that had chopsticks before we went and then I didn't use them. That's pretty epic. All right. I'm going to try to jump in. I'm getting word the texture is just amazing. This is a good old sloppy nude. Thank you. And yeah, overall, very delicious. It's not like a greasy slap in the face. It's more of a smooth flavor throughout. It's a pretty, like, natural kind of flavor. I'd say It is what it is. You can see how it's going to
taste from the outside, which is good. What is this? It's green. This tastes like a green vegetable. We'll move it over to the dumplings. These are pork and other thing. Dumplings. So this will be an interesting one to try. We got them dipped in the sauce and I was down on. I found them very different than the usual. Hard to pinpoint the sauce. It's obviously a soy sauce base, some vinegar in there, but I don't know, there's something about it that is definitely different. It's got like a deep
taste to it. I don't know how you describe it, where it is like a dark soy sauce or something. Yeah, like a deep, dark flavor in there. So definitely they're not stripped away, but they're really good. So I think soup dumplings always pack a little more punch when you bite into him. These ones are definitely very good. Steamed fork dumplings, pretty solid, pretty solid. I wouldn't eat a lot of them because they're easy to pop and possible. I think I prefer this over the dumplings. I'm liking the
dumplings more really. Look at that. You get two different opinions to try for where it may say three, but it's only two. Now we're going to move on to these pork bars, which are very interesting and they're very heavily advertised about this place. The outside. So far, it's sort of like a puff pastry, so it's like a crossover. I'll call a crossover. Now let's crack and down this. I'm already. wow. Very, very crisanti. Okay, The meat is filthy. It's like a pulled pork. Yeah, but it's got some C
hinese spices in there. It's really like a billboard. And this was not spicy at all. He was very scared about these things will be spicy. Nothing's too bad now. And it's got sort of a bit of a sweetness in there. So honestly, this wouldn't strike me as a Chinese dish. No, it wouldn't have. This would strike me as like Eastern European. There's some awesome meat stuffed in a bread. It's unique and it worked really well. that's good. I will go there. And finally we have skewers and these claim to
be mutton. It looks like mutton. We'll see what they are when we put them in. Even if if we could even tell. I don't know. But I'm confident that we had to eat a meat. Maybe like, Yeah, that's mine. Let's go. It smells like Indian food. It's really soft and tender, but also squishy on the inside. Please don't skew my eyeball. But I know what you think. All the flavors on the outside. However, this is a very unique sensation in my mouth. It's got sort of like this spicy aroma, but it's not super
spicy. It has a it tastes like masala. It kind of has that masala feel where it's like it smells spicy, but then it just tastes like masala. This has the most total flavor out of anything. We've eaten. It's definitely completely caked. And whatever season and I put on this because you can feel the granules of seasoning as you bite into it. It almost sounds like oregano on it or something. There's sesame seeds right there. The law knows a little boy might be some oregano or something of the sort
where it's like an herb and it kind of reminds Mila Pizza. Pizza ordering pizza on a stick. Well, that was our Franken meal here. And it was pretty dang solid. Our Chinese feast. We're going to devour this stuff and, you know, a little more after we're done, guys, They got Coco here. There's a little special thing how we're going to try and use, I think in Coco a lot in the Philippines. So why not try to China as well? The weird thing about this Coco, as my Alipay didn't work because for some re
ason specifically this Coco only accepted mainland China cards on Alipay. The only issues we've had with Alipay are due to Wi-Fi and getting locked out of this account almost never said anything about the specific card that was associated. That was really interesting, but I just ended up paying the worker and then she paid for it. So I mean, it worked out. But that it's really interesting and hopefully that does not happen in a different situation where we cannot pay. We've seen things about how
easy it is to pay for everything, and sometimes Alipay is super convenient and easy, but some sometimes have had a lot of issues and we haven't been able to withdraw cash anywhere. So and none of the places will typically accept foreign cards just straight up. As I've been using Alipay more, it's actually doing things faster. Suddenly I first had to verify my card and get like OTP and now it instantly just got pretty interesting thoughts on Alipay and paying for things in China. It's sort of ve
ry convenient and also sort of can be inconvenient sometimes. It depends on how good your connection is. Let's try some. Koko We're going to do the review like this hard. Hey, everybody, I'm drinking some cocoa. It's a yogurt for strawberry yogurt. No tea thing. It's like new. And they've been giving out free samples. So how to get it right? It's so interesting. How much of this cost you, sir? 16 is so cheap. It's like two bucks. It's like the same as the Philippines. I never would have expected
that. China's been surprisingly cheap. The restaurant we just went through, all that food we got was 92, 92. So inching in on about $14. $15 are easy. I know so many nice things and very affordable. Well, it's thick, it's creamy, it's yogurt, and there's a real strawberry chunks in time. My first thing was just a straight up strawberry, all mashed up. That's really good. It's like better than a frozen yogurt or like, a yogurt drink places, yogurt drinks. And it's from Frank and coke and it's $2
. That's a deal. We got this in the US. I better be like seven bucks at least. And have you went to one of the places that was trendy? It'd be like 14 bucks. Sue saying China's better than the U.S. So just kidding. We don't make blanket statements like that. No, we're not. We're not being too click bait of bloggers today. Well, look, I know this is a lot different than last nights. I can tell you that right away. You know, we should have a security. Yeah, we should. So let's see what it's like.
I mean, this is the most fancy thing right here. Here we go. Go. okay. It's kind of cold in here. The floor is super cold and sort of beep. Hopefully that's heating and not an AC. Okay. You know, it's a room pretty solid. Not too bad. It's basically as big as our last room. There's a city view. There's a old cathedral right there that might be I think I saw on Google. that's like one of the oldest gothic cathedrals in China or southern China. very specific. And it's like an ESPN stat. you get a
decent like 180 view, some kind of building some of a complex of the same building over there. You can't see down to the wind up towers down there anymore. I get a little bit of a different view today. It's a totally different area of the city. We've got more into downtown Gwangju instead of out in that other like super fancy business district. It reminds me more of Hong Kong. Now, obviously not as crazy packed, busy, but it's definitely a more similar downtown area that this view gives me. Maca
o vibes. Yeah, like the apartment buildings. They're not as tall as the Macao ones, but the apartment buildings have a kind of like same feel terrible. If you get in between those buildings, that's pretty. That might be like those Macao's streets. Yeah, They just have them split with these massive hotel buildings. This windows Frank and open Holly nuts. It's a suicide window fed up. What do you mean? There's bars here to stop you. You can't make it over those bars, right? No one will prevent me
from my suicide. Hope guy. Suicide is bad. Talk to someone. I guarantee you someone cares about you. You might think no one cares, but someone does. It comes with a I don't know what the thing is. Probably something disgusting. Just used to touch base. Now, please. Now we got your story. All right, let's go through the essentials here, guys. A very, very clean microwave. Definitely going to be making good use of that thing. It has a washing machine that's still wet. We have a fridge noise. What
the heck is this? At least it has the pizza. It's a maraca. Hey, I'm from Mexico. Yeah, Yeah, we're very cultured. so you can shower in the sink. wait, there isn't a shower. going nuts. The lot of pressure and Bongo seems like it's pretty good. That is a nice plus about China is they have already built in heating for their water supply. That's our plants right there. The floor of this thing is looking a little sus. Let's give it a go. jeez. It's kind of like I've missed kind of water on the lens
. Hey, GoPro, you're a bit wet. And instead of a bad day, they gave us this thing to wipe our buttocks buttocks with. I saw them in the Hilton. Two choices. Aware that for fun. And that is the cheapest hotel we could find in Gwangju. So that was reasonable. Like reasonable niceness and wasn't Chinese only for Chinese New Year weekend because this one jumped on the night of the Chinese New Year very high and then it goes back down. This is the haircut that will change your life. It's either gibbe
rish or very deep to the point where I don't even understand what it means. I think you're just not on the intellectual level to understand that one clearly not. My life has not been changed to do some airhead for actor Buddhist. my phone is when they hit my nut. Yeah, it's it's firm. It's very similar to our first China hotel. A nice thick bed, as you can see here, but firm as a board. Let's see the pillow. That's not the correct way to do a pillow test, sir. Not bad. It's not bad. Well, that's
the suffocation test, sir. that sounds pretty good. Kind of smells weird. It was chloroformed. It did do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do. The check into this place was a little interesting. We I tried to message them on a go to and they didn't respond. So I go to the location on the map, find the subway to it, walk here. There's like an office building, apartment building, like a thing. And that wasn't it. And then it just said, check in and then it pointed. Check in down anothe
r hallway, check it into a room. And that wasn't the right one. So we asked you on the, like, down first floor and then another guy, yo, yo. And then he walked us to yo yo and we found the place. It seems very reminiscent of the Chungking mansion in Hong Kong, which is like a it's just a big building with a lot of apartments and apparently the most dangerous place in Hong Kong. I guess we stayed there and there's just separate check ins for all of them and their own thing. But this one is way ni
cer than the Chungking mansion. Are you kidding me? The Filipino hostel, dude. Hey. And this one is also much cheaper than the Filipino hostel in the Chungking mansion do. Quang Jo Prices for hotels weren't cheap compared to Southeast Asia, but Hong Kong was twice as much. Yeah, crazy. But anyways, it was a long check in process. But eventually we got it, got it paid and then we came up here. The elevator was a bit sketchy. It was doing some funky things, but you know, what can you expect in the
financial building? The museum, fine financial building. We press 18 which our floor and then it just highlights 17 because, you know, we're taking the scenic route while we're here. We got a new area to explore and we'll be here for three days, so we'll be able to really jump into it. It's raining and freezing outside. We will see where we can get today without getting hypothermia. Let's hope this rain clears up blue. And are you ready to go outside? I'm ready. Well, where'd you get those glov
es? Found them in the street. They? Yeah, they gave me a special discount. I was only like a thousand. It's a crappy day. It was just like this yesterday. It's supposed to be like this tomorrow, but my gosh, it's 47 degrees and rainy, so it feels like. Like low forties. It feels like it's not. It's not fantastic. The rain just makes it so much worse. It didn't rain this much yesterday, and now it's kind of a steady stream of rain, which makes it all a lot, lot worse. But we're going to soldier o
n. We just need to wait two days and it will be nice and warm out. great. Two of you in two days out of our five. However, the loudest people here by far. Yeah, no one talking vloggers. So we have the privilege trial on them. So it's everywhere. Okay. Well we went to a so we took the metro down another two lines and now heading across to the little island over here. well you show me an island. It's an interesting area of the city. It's like a European in architecture, fancy style island in the m
iddle of Quanzhou, China. They have this in China. This is what China looks like. They the media lied to us. Are we in China or London? You might see one of those as one of our titles for this video. You know why? Because you might have clicked on it because of that. So let's do it. It looks like a lot of residential buildings in this area. A lot. So condo after condo, I remember seeing this area in pictures specifically saying what to do in Congo. And one of the things was shopping. And I remem
ber this area specifically. I mean, it looked like an area you could get some shopping from Haiti, some of the targeted doors, $20 ice cream. Is this Germany or the Philippines? Is this Djibouti or China? Are we in Amsterdam or are we in China? I don't even know anymore. Is that a canal? I don't even know anymore. This is pretty nutty. Wow. This is very odd. It's it's so much different than everywhere else in the city. It's just all of a sudden, they got a different style of road, different styl
e of sidewalk trees lining the streets. There are trees lining the streets in the other areas. But the buildings are completely different. Hold that thought. Holy nuts, Holy nuts. His name is Eduardo Garcia. European. It's definitely an interesting street. It's very peaceful, very big trees. It's some decorations. It's kind of more like a park than anything else. That's true, because there's no cars allowed in this area either. I just saw a car drive by over there and this specific look, others
bikes in this specific little small square. There's not cars, just bikes. Yeah. I thought this was going to be like, kind of a touristy, like popping like shops and stuff, but it's actually more like a park with some, like older colonial looking buildings. And then there's like been two total shops, 13 and this whole time we've been walking, not what I expected, but it's a nice if I was expecting a park, I would have been very like, okay, but I was expecting something else. I'm not now. I'm like
, okay, confusion, but it's cool. Chinese New Year is this is there full display here? All these little hanging crackers just will just head down a little farther and see if there's anything else and that the exploration continues. Wortham Yup. It's really beautiful, isn't it? Not the flowers I'm talking about, but just life. It's life. It's strange. We're all just beautiful flowers and we're going to make it all right. So hang in and come back. Come back. It's an interesting area now down by th
e old Pearl River. This river right here is an interesting river because somewhere in the range of 80 to 90 million people live right next to this thing in this Pearl River Bay Delta area, which is an absurd amount of people. That was a great way of explaining what it is. I mean, we're basically informational travel bloggers. We love to inform our audiences about things that we go to. I want to look at Movie Water. Suddenly out of nowhere there's just like food stalls and restaurants and like En
glish all over the place as if this is like one of the big tourist spots I'm looking over there. So this is what I was kind of expecting, like shops and food stalls down. And now when you come by the river, they're finally all popping up. So how long do you see what I see? I see, I see. But were able. So you guys didn't know this river? Actually, I'm going to continue our informational segment. The water in this river actually comes from the Rocky Mountains in the United States. Really? How do t
hey get to the ocean? They import the water. that's interesting. Well, that's a river with a nice plot of buildings on the other side. What the heck is that being built over there now? That's cool. River Cruise party, Boat, party, boat, party. It looks like I don't know if there's heating in there. It's closed off. So I assume there is actually the Pearl River. Look at those yachts over there. I own one of those back home. It's just a big over yacht. And those yachts are also imported from the R
ocky Mountains River yachts in the Rocky Mountains. Very practical. I know. They ever know what's coming down there. All the Rocky Mountain rivers. All right, let's go break into that building over there. It looks cool. Does that was or another day in Gwangju? We have explored some more unique areas of the city. A tourist area got to see some Chinese New Year decorations and some yummy food. Some very yummy food. We're going to continue the adventures and keep seeing what China has to offer. Her
e's to good weather in the next few videos. We'll see. We're in a White Swan Hotel. There's a rally just right in the Shainman area. There's a European street and then a massive luxury hotel. Even things like whitewashed stories. I know there's a super famous restaurant in here. It's like one of the must see things in Glasgow. So we're going to check out the price if it's absurdly expensive, we're not going to go because I'm sure we can find just as good a food on the street for much cheaper. Bu
t if it's reasonable, maybe we'll try some things.

Thanks for watching! Check out our last Guangzhou Vlog if you haven't seen it: https://youtu.be/ih4QenpJLjY

@yonight6871

You are very brave. Despite all warnings from the medias not to take ‘risk’ coming to China , you did it.I had been to China a number of time. It is probably one of the safest place on earth. Over here you will see friendly people, who want to take pictures with you, superb infrastructure, very safe, no drugs or guns. no vagrants and thieves. very conveniences to go around from city to city.Western media being bias with China and always label it as bad.😅

@darkraisnorlax1853

I swear I laugh out loud at the"they call me nihao(你好)” part. Because nihao is hello in Chinese🤣

@pbworld7858

The ancestors of most Hong Kongers came from Guangzhou or other parts of Guandong province - that's why they share the same culture and language (Cantonese).

@hujiemin721

In the first Chinese restaurant, you ate the Shaanxi style food. The capital city of Shaanxi province is Xi’an, formerly known as Chang’an, the capital of many ancient Chinese dynasties such as the golden ages of Han and Tang Dynasty (Tang Dynasty replica culture is Japanese culture due to the large amount of kentoushi 遣唐使 or envoys to the Tang Dynasty they sent to copy the whole Tang culture back to Nara Period and Heian Period of Japan, which is why Nara and Kyoto were built after the layout of Chang’an). The first dish is called biang biang mian (mian means noodles in Chinese, and its call men in Japanese and myon in Korean with the same Chinese character). The word biang biang refers to the sound when the wide noodle strip is hit on the table when it’s made. The mutton skewer is in the halal style, or in Jewish term, kosher style without pork. The granule on the skewer is called cumin, ziran 孜然 in Mandarin Chinese. The pork bun is called rou jia mo 肉夾饃🥙 in Mandarin, rou (meat) jia (sandwiched) mo (unleavened bread), literally 「meat sandwiched in unleavened bread」. All of those can be found in the Muslims or Hui people’s Street in Xi’an, the Tang Dynasty capital of you can pay it a visit. I was born in Guangzhou and grew up eating dim sum in White Swan Hotel 白天鵝賓館 as a kid. I remember the artificial river and bridge inside and the nice scenes while enjoying dim sum as a little kid, and now I’ve been in USA for more than 30 years. Time flies. Garden Hotel 花園酒店 and China Grand Hotel 中國大酒店 are also two famous hotels in Guangzhou that you can explore if you have time. As for the joke that the Pearl River water came from Rocky Mountain in USA, haha, you are funny.

@THB1945

Don't forget to try out iconic Cantonese food like roast goose, Cheung fun, and Cantonese morning tea with dim sum! ! ! You will not regret it ! ! !

@nickytsui1295

00:23:49 From the latter half of the 19th century until the first half of the 20th century, China existed in a semi-colonial state. Although it was not like India which was a colony under full control of a foreign power. Major foreign powers (which included France, Germany, Britain, Italy, Japan, Russia, United States, etc) coerced the Chinese government into ceding territory and establishing spheres of influence. These ceded lands came to be known as concessions. These European style architectures you saw on Shamian Island in Guangzhou are legacies from two concessions given to France and the United Kingdom in the past. You can still find lot of European architectures in these old concession areas. For a list of these concessions you can search a key word like "Foreign concessions in China".

@tracymcgrady6953

You two are very brave to come to China, and moreover, Showing people the real China! Respect!

@grandwonder5858

Here’s a tip to save money in China: Don’t buy anything that is American or European in China unless you want to pay 3-4 times more than the local stuff! That’s right, instead of going to McDonald’s for a burger go to a local Chinese restaurant instead because your food would not only taste better and more unique, but also much cheaper as well!

@10521206

the stick you were holding inside your room is for putting the hangers to the hanging poles for drying your wet laundries.

@MetaView7

25:30 You have missed the most important message in the park. The White on Red sign in front of you says: Core Socialist Values: (see Wiki for more detail) The national values of "prosperity", "democracy", "civility" and "harmony"; The social values of "freedom", "equality", "justice" and the "rule of law"; and The individual values of "patriotism", "dedication", "integrity" and "friendship". Yes, Democracy is one of the core values of China.

@imeedeguzman19

My eyes are feasting seeing those delicious food haha. I love Chinese food especially dumplings and miantiao. Guangzhou is really nice and very interesting. UCRzBNJTsBe2rq6pkyXeaj1A/nkjiZKHmA4KH_9EPs76s4A8

@wenkezhong3478

Haha the dim sum restaurant in the white swan hotel is very nice but yes expensive 😅 the white swan hotel is the first five stars hotel in China, the UK queen Liz has stayed in here when she visited Guangzhou. And funny fact this city used to call CANTON, might be ringing a bell than you just heard “Guangzhou “

@woi1130

I am sorry that you came to Guangzhou during the Chinese new years. Lots of stores are closed, and people went back to their hometown, leaving the big cities kind of empty. There are way more city vibes on regular days.

Just wonder if you guys ever realised when you say "Cantonese"-"Canton" is the old school English translation of "Guangdon" and "Guangzhou" is the Capital city of Canton province? You are actually visiting the origin of Cantonese food.

@Yasin_Affandi

Thank you for this video and for showing your day exploration in Guangzhou.

@Light-zu1ys

You guys make me laugh so hard omg hahahahahhhh!!!!! So geniusly dopey!!!! Also, thank you for showing me the hotel I never knew China had, I remember that in China even 200+ rmb can buy yourself a pretty decent chain hotel room in 1-tier cities (remote areas ofc) so wow what you’ve shown here is a new experience!

I want to say that Roujiamo is definitely Chinese food, it was invented during the Tang Dynasty. It comes from Xi'an, and you may not know the city of Xi'an. It is located in the northwest of China and is the starting point of the Silk Road. 9:41 🤣🤣You can go to the northwest to eat authentic Shaanxi cuisine next time🥰🥰🥰

1st one to comment 😛So what do you guys generally think of China compared to Western's propaganda? How is the economy, safety, security, citizens' happiness? Food and prices? Is it tourism-friendly? Maybe creating an episode tackling about these interesting topics one day would be nice for you and the viewers. Your experience as a traveller would be nice to hear.

I've always wondered what it's like in China 🇨🇳, and watching this vlog makes me think it's not that bad at all 🤔 😊. Be safe Tyler and Isaac and God bless 🙏 you both ❤❤
