so hi my name is Jean batist and I'm a talent aition manager at 09 my passion um I have plenty of of [Music] Passions [Music] come on don't be late we're leaving like yesterday SP extra not stop and wait as a kid I was more of um I think quite a very active kid so always wanted to be outside it was quite difficult to keep me inside focus on my I don't know homework or um so yeah just wanted to be outside in the garden um with my friends play tennis a lot and also I used to ski a lot but uh besid
e that every weekend we were hiking around uh walking around in the in the mountain but also like doing just a lot of sports um cool stuff on the lake wake boarding wake surfing and stuff like that where where I found my passion about basically challenging myself as a kid is mainly because I've always done like competitive Sports uh so basically like competition is a kind of of a challenge no matter what you play against someone else or you race against someone else but first person you you race
against or you you play against is most of the time your yourself um so I think this is where I started to love uh challenging myself um thanks to like a bit of a competitive and the competition environment my past experience um in this kind of competition so basically in 201 17 I think or even 16 I started um my trian journey um with like short distance um but I was also quite into running with like running half marathon Marathon um so I was combining both basically um short distance trian or
Olympic distance trian and uh long distance running then also um started to be more and more into trail running long distance trail running and I had the chance to participate to the AL maraton DES in FTE Ventura it's a longdistance Trad it's 120 kilm um over 4 days um in the desert where you carry all your stuff and it's a full autonomy uh um competition [Applause] [Music] [Music] so my daily job I'm uh so like I said I'm a talent manager but um it's still it's a very handsome job so basically
is really knowing the market the talent Market engaging with the with the talent um pitching onine so trying to convince them that onine is the best place uh to work for uh for them and uh till the uh offer stage so that's one part that's the very uh hands on uh part of my work and there is also like a more strategic uh aspect is like or we gain visibility on the market or we uh trigger uh Talent attention on a very competitive market um so so yeah I would say those are the two main part of uh o
f my job it's the journey you know to reach a goal it's uh so we all have like a goal in um in uh in our mind at work or for passion or for something but what really matters is that what you're going to do every day to reach this uh this goal and I think recruitment is um exactly the the same you know it's like engaging with candidate every day again and again to finally by the end find your your your top Talent we're going to France uton stadium so it's a athletism track it's pretty good for uh
interval training so it's not really about the the distance it's much more like uh intensity Pace that's what you yeah that's what you usually uh try to um to train when you go on a on a running track usually like interval training are the most intense one they're like Killers um if you don't peuk by the end means that it wasn't a good uh wasn't a good training I want to discourage you so I'm not going to tell you all the reason but it is it's very dangerous it's an extreme sport you have skydi
ving you have clip jumping and just after you have run preparation for an Iron Man is is key I mean you I mean of course you can go and do the the race maybe without um training uh but you will suffer I like to train sometime on my own I would say like yeah sometime on my home because it is convenient you just go when you're ready you don't have to wait for anybody and um it's EAS easier to balance like yeah work family um and your [Music] training [Music] when there is this uh kind of doubt hap
pening it's much more during the training phase where there is always like oh my God it's so many hours training so many hours um doing something after work where I would rather enjoy a beer with my friends or even some be Balon or stuff like that where has to stick to um um alcohol-free beers and um I don't know like gluten-free bread so there is always this moment during the uh um preparation phase where I'm like it's it's too much and I I don't want to do it again but then there is this momen
t which is the competition where I'm like I'm really enjoying every second uh of it so what I'm looking for to the most it's probably going to the Iron Man shop and buying all the merch that's what I uh really looking forward to but no mainly it's just like being there being on the race um yeah just finally uh finally uh racing cuz I've been training for I think 17 uh 17 to 20 weeks almost fulltime so now it's just time to uh to complete the race and try to be as fast as I as I can also like bei
ng in Finland is going to be amazing um so no super excited about it Iron Man is like a special distance um and brand for a trian competition so like all the other trian competition it starts with the swim then it's the bike um and then it's the Run okay the only thing that is different is that those distance are are above the Olympic distance it start with 1.9 km swim 90 km um on the bike and then uh you finish with Alpha Marathon an interesting part is that you start with the swim where it's l
ike a proper fight in the water um so you are next to each other you need to find your way you need to find your pace and uh yeah you have thousand of people in the water at the same time so it's like a proper fight it's almost like a physical uh fight against each other so you get punched people they hit you with their feet so you really need to make your space and um like kind of I don't know if I can put it like that impose a bit your your your yourself and it is quite interesting um because
you wouldn't expect like this physical uh contact for um endurance sport you have it with the swim you don't really have it with the bike but then when you're back on the on the run again also sometime you have to push a bit the other to uh make some space and uh uh cuz you can't just accelerate you're almost exhausted uh already so you can't just change your pace accelerate like that so sometime you have to push a bit the the other um to uh make your way H you go so during the race you you go t
hrough a lot of emotion when you're in the bike it's it's a long ride it's 90 kilm so you're going to spay like three three hours and a half on the bike so really have the time to think of um and about many [Music] things and I always try to in every competition to surround me with only positive uh thoughts so I always try to attract only positive vibes on the starting Lane this is something I read in the book and I I find that super important so I was in a very positive mindset one thing that w
as a bit emotional that was thinking of the birth of of the so of of my so that was this moment and I was like a bit of a emotional one minute or two minutes where I was like okay I'm thinking of me of him now and I'm doing also bit that for uh yeah for for [Music] you a man like just finishing the race is such a great emotion like when you pass the line you're like full of energy full of positive emotion full of accomplishment and kind of uh yeah emotion or feeling and you are like you could yo
u could do another one straight away you know it really like boost you and fulfill you this is quite uh addictive and this is why you want to do another one bigger challenge longer distance more demanding more [Music] challenging my name is JB and this is my passion what's [Music] yours [Music] I'm going on a long long journey I'm traveling towards the sun what's your patient David I'm going on a long long journey got to find [Music] out finally we
