Stories are valued for many reasons, including theĀ
wisdom they impart, the moral lessons they teach, the historical significance they provide, and theĀ
social critiques they offer. They also provide entertainment and can offer psychological insightsĀ
that help people learn and remember information through the act of storytelling. A story canĀ
be valuable for all of these reasons. However, a question that keeps popping up is what makesĀ
a story personally meaningful to someone. When a writer say
s "my story means a lot to me," whatĀ
does that mean? As a form of art, a story is an expression of oneself. Therefore, a writer isĀ
an artist, and their story is a piece of art. A story is a culmination of a writer's pastĀ
experiences, beliefs, values, perspectives, and feelings, and it's a visual narrativeĀ
representation of that. In other words, a story is an extension of a part of you, and therefore, theĀ
story represents that part of you. However, it's not a consciously known thing that's h
appening. WeĀ
just say "I relate to that" or "I want that" or "I agree with that" or "I think that's how we shouldĀ
be" or "I believe that's good and that is bad." Art is an extension of oneself, and a story isĀ
no different. As an artist, if a story provides an authentic and daring representationĀ
of certain aspects of the author's self, such as beliefs, values, perspectives, feelings,Ā
past, or present, it is likely to resonate with others who share those same aspects and thus beĀ
representati
ve and meaningful to others as well.

This inspires me to continue my storyline š
I wrote a short story recently that had a complicated magic system and urban post apocalypse setting and showed it to my family and friends. I tried to make it approachable to the average audience by including a bunch of action scenes and focus less on the setting and magic. But when I asked my family and friends what they liked about the story, they said it was the magic system and setting and they thought the action scenes didn't do a good job helping that aspect. It made me realize that the best thing a story can do is show your own worldview and conflicts and the last thing you should do is pander to what you think others will think.
I like a storyes. But this are very best for timepass š
Joe. I m writing a novel. Itās a mystery novel. Iāve written short stories, poems, blogs and essays. Iām wondering how I can flesh out my story to make it the length it needs to be to make a full scale novel. Iām afraid if I make it to long it will be boring
