Oh, look, here we are... Few destinations in the world compare to the epic winter wonderland that is big Sky, Montana. It's like National Geographic meets Warren Miller. When they say big sky, they mean it. This place is big. With over 5800 skiable acres. This place is so big... I once got lost here, and I ended up in Narnia. If you're a mobile junkie, big sky is your Disneyland. You're just gonna be like a tiny dot out there bouncing around like you're trying to hold on to a mechanical bull. Af
ter a day of mobile madness at Big Sky, you're going to have a hard time deciding whether you should celebrate with beer at Scissor Bills or book an appointment to chiropractor. It's a love hate relationship only skiers can understand. Big Sky's crowding jewel is Lone Peak. It's a majestic beast that towers over the resort like a titan. Only way to get there is in a little tiny tune can. Alllllll the way up. The tram up lone peak is not for the faint of heart, but the adrenaline rush of skiing t
he big cooler for the first 15, 50th time is definitely worth it. But no, the girls at the bar do not want to see your GoPro footage. Big C not your thing? That's okay. There's a ton of other skiing to be found at big sky. Just below the tram is a zone called Headwaters, and it's run after run of steep, sustained pitches and some of the best snow you're going to find out west. Need to give your legs the rest? Take a couple laps on Challenger. All these little tree runs are totally going to do th
e trick. If you're still not sure where to go, just look at the map and start picking the best names. We've got Bacon Rind. We've got Calamity Janes. We've got Bone Crusher, Turkey Traverse and my favorite, Lazy Jack. All the way back to the bar. Not sure what to wear? We say it's best to go with a healthy mix of denim and gortech. Be prepared to see skiers wearing both. But whichever way you go, go with confidence, locals here can smell your fear. There's one thing Big Sky locals know how to do
as well as they ski. It's Party. From live music to wild theme parties at local bars, there's a pretty good chance you could find yourself in a dance off with a ski patroller... still in his ski booth at 2:00 A.m.. And I guess that's happened before. Anyway, this is God's country, saddle up because this place will ---- you up.
