Hello, hi, my name is Zuliana
Eusoff, and I am a 2D Animator. Back in Malaysia, I've always been
working in the Motion Graphics industry. So I've been doing videos, that revolves
around animating and doing basically title sequences and what not, and a bit of editing.
My project is actually a 2D animated music video, and it's for a Malaysian rock band. The song is
called Roda Dua, which means 'two wheels'. The music video narrative talks about this girl. She's
a Southeast Asian village girl whos
e dream is to become a professional motorcycle racer.
So what I wanted to showcase in the music video was essentially my culture. I wanted to talk
about some challenges in the social construct, especially back where I'm from, Malaysia. I decided
that I wanted to challenge myself and do something more experimental, and therefore I was looking
at courses on the internet, and I stumbled upon the MA Animation course, so I applied. This
course actually trained me to work mostly independently. Bec
ause they've given us a lot of
self-led work, and therefore we expected to carry things out independently, or we have to work in
groups ourselves, without any sort of guidance. So I think the outcome from all that is I'm a much
more independent, communicative, and brave animator who's not afraid to experiment. I want
my audience to feel inspired after watching the music video, to actually work your way through your
goals to achieve that dream that you are, you've always envisioned. I feel like
after going through
all those challenges given to me throughout the whole MA course, being able to finally showcase
all my works and the new mediums, new methods I've experimented with during the graduate show
is sort of like a little achievement, or a big achievement for me. So it's, I feel very proud
of what I have done so far.
