I cut the perimeter on the interrupted line. I use paper tape to assemble the parts together. After I cut the paper, I glue it on this thin cardboard. I use weights to keep the papers in place, like so. This is a paper tape, that can be ripped off without scissors. I cut around, leaving a seam allowance of 5 mm. I draw the contour on the cardboard, so I know where to spread the glue. I pour glue from this bottle, as it is much faster to work this way. I work section by section. This pattern on c
ardboard can be used many times. I use a silver pen to make the marks on the leather. If you want to mark the signs of holes with great speed, like I do, you have to use this kind of cardboard pattern. It will not work with simple paper or acrylic pattern. You can see how swiftly one can make these signs. Uniters edge paint These are all the pieces. 1/16" (1.5 mm) round hole punch I scratch the leather, for a better adherence of the glue. The signs helps us to position correctly the pieces. The
hole for the Sam Browne stud should be down, like so. I prefer to glue and punch through multiple layers, like so. This way the pieces will be aligned, for an easier stitching. I align the holes with an awl. This is the D ring strap on the gusset. This is the strap, for the closing system with Sam Browne studs, on the front panel. I can punch this hole through multiple layers of leather, as the head is 10 mm long. It will be a sleeve that will be attached with snap fasteners in these points. I w
ill stitch the straps over the fasteners, like so. This will be the sleeve. I prepare the edges by folding them. First with the fingers, like so. Then with pliers. This hole that will be marked on the pattern, will be stitched in blind, like so. We make the blind stitch. Now we pull the thread very well and arrange the corner. I make a double step. I use this small cutter to make the cut for the Sam Browne stud hole. We have these snap fasteners. My leather is very thin, so I will line the area
where the snap fasteners are positioned. This detachable inside sleeve is easy to make, and helps keeping the bag organised. It is a slouchy bag, made from soft leather. I will make a little charm made from fringes. I am very please how it turned out!
