Japan's Luxury Capsule Hotel (Sleeping in the Tokyo Airport)

Today is going to be a day of firsts. It's my  first time flying across an ocean our first time going to Asia and our very first time staying  in a capsule hotel I have no idea how I'm going to fit in this cly not made for tall people I'm  not going to lie this is very very small we're Eric and Sarah we've been traveling for 3 years  through North and South America but right now we are on Route to the Philippines which will be our  very first country in Southeast Asia that's right we are very ex

cited and we actually have a bit of  an interesting travel day we are starting here in Vancouver Canada where we have to catch a 10-hour  flight to hanada Tokyo and then we have a 14-hour layover where we'll be staying in a capsule Hotel  before a shorter flight on to the Philippines and normally we wouldn't be excited for a 14-hour  layover But Eric had the brilliant idea that this would be a great opportunity to get some  rest and also just experience our first capsule hotel that's right but f

irst we have to catch  that 10hour flight let's get [Music] going hi just [Music] this we I'm way too much fun  with this get it get it get it get it get [Music] it oh yeah got a  blanket a pillow comfy I'm set okay yeah yeah yeah of course yeah for  the Vlog doing it for the Vlog yeah just for the Vlog that was cute that's true what you  was saying also look at this luxury we have a full row to ourselves for this 10 hour flight  we scammed the system pretty decent this is what you have to do yo

u have to book two seats but one  on either aisle seat or either like side cuz if nobody shows up in the middle you have the whole  thing to yourself and if someone does show up in the middle they'll always let you switch to sit  beside each other anyways cuz who wants to sit in the middle of a couple it's weird so there you  go and preferably the back of the plane cuz those are the middle rows that they fill up last it  seems like that's right nobody wants to sit in the back of the plane who ca

res look at us this  a little life of luxury life of luxury can't to eat we made it halfway we're at  hour 5 we just had some coffee so we're both feeling pretty awake but  our goal is to make it to the very end of the flight without sleeping at  all so we'll see how the next half goes feel like I'm really really  tired now you can do I'm trying to stay awake I'm trying not to sleep  on this plate so I can beat jet leg you're doing great only a couple  more [Music] hours we'll get there we're in

Japan s we did it we're in Asia Eric  thank you so much thank you so much okay thank you we're in freaking Asia right now we're in  Japan we're in Japan what is like wait I want to look out the window wow this is Japan that's  Japan Sarah wow that's it that's the whole thing that's all we get to see pretty pretty much looks  like every other airport I've ever been at but wow it's Unique cuz it's Japan wa everything's  so like I don't know I don't know how you even describe this everything just

so Japanese yeah  so clean and organized already how you feeling Sarah oh this feels so crazy I don't know why  everything just feels so wild right now the the vehicles are coming the wrong direction it's  so confusing not the wrong side of the road just the wrong direction whoa look at that crazy car  man like my eyes are just stting all over the place well it's definitely taking us a  little bit to get our bearings here we are definitely in a new country but uh yeah  we are on our way to our c

apsule Hotel uh it's actually really cool because this one  is a part of the airport so all we had to do is come to Terminal 1 from terminal  3 we did have to go through customs but we also got a free shuttle here and it  was no problem we're staying at a place called first cabin Terminal 1 so excited to  check it out check it out see what it looks like okay bye bye have a good night  thank you this feels weird feels weird oo fancy oh fancy so because these  rooms are so small the men and women

are actually just in separate areas  which is for safety as well but we have to sleep apart tonight okay  here we go ladies cabin [Music] rooms whoa this is so weird this looks  so futuristic this is crazy look at all these rooms oh here's the small rooms  this is the size room Eric's going to be in nice tiny room whoa this looks  so crazy this one is mine yep okay this is uh home sweet home I have no idea I'm  going to fit in this here let's turn on the light that is too good that's awesome oka

y okay think I'm down here somewhere okay well this just got really  awkward cuz someone is definitely in my cabin I I mean the numbers are kind of confusing  so I understand but she has the door closed and her shoes are off so have to go back for the  reception to ask them it just put me into a different room so hopefully no one's in this  one I'm sure they're probably happens a lot okay let's try this one instead I think that's  right there we go okay wow look at that space amazing oh I love t

his already this is awesome  so I've got What's called the first class suite and it has like some nice big space here it's  actually great wow okay this is sweet so I've ordered the business class one and this is  what it looks like this is basically just a bed I just have to slide in here and then I can  slide this down whenever I'm ready to go to bed but I'm ready to take a look at what's inside oh  also came with this nice set of pajamas so that's definitely going to be wearing that later  an

d my little slippers for walking around so I feel like I'm pretty ready to get  cozy and check this thing out one thing I'm noticing immediately is that there's  actually not much space for my suitcase which might be an issue but I can put some  stuff in here and I can that does not move okay I can put some stuff in here and that's  pretty much it oh there's a TV okay I kind of like this this is so awesome okay I don't  know what to think of this the first thing I got to do oh oh this is a bad i

dea shouldn't  have done this shouldn't have tried [Applause] this it's a very firm mattress oh man oh it feels so good to lay down  holy so I've got to whisper because you're not supposed to talk in here at all so I'm going to  give you a quick room to her but being really quiet about it which is really hard for me when I  get really excited so I'm going to do my best to keep my voice low all right let's take a look at  the amenity shall we we've got the [Music] lights we've got this button tha

t who knows what that  does it's just in Japanese so I'm not going to press it cuz maybe it'll call for help we've  got two hangers so as I'm laying in this bed I have a nice light two lights in the room and a  bunch of plugs this looks like oh that's nice it actually dims that's sweet in case of emergency  don't think that button's ever been pressed I've got a nice little nightstand table with I don't  know Cenex is in oh I have air I'm hearing nice oh nice it's some nice air conditioning comin

g  through here leave that on uh I have like a ethernet cable if I need it earphones for the  TV and then I just have like regular plugs I can just plug in whatever I want whatever I need  I've got some more plugs in this corner with a light and then I've got this nice big bed some  comfy pillows and I even have ATV look at that this is this is Tiny though this I'm not going to  lie this is very very small but at least I have a TV and unlike the other ones I've got some nice  big space so I didn

't have a draw this is awesome I really like this place I'm so excited here this  is so fun and no neighbors so nobody can hear me snore [Music] I'm in the bathroom this is my first  time seeing a Japanese toilet this is [Music] crazy look at all my options I'm very  concerned that I will not know what any of this does um the seat was warm and I had never  really used a pet before so that was uh that was a new experience all around now  this is got to be the nicest bathroom I've ever been to goo

d all the stuff that's  just included okay so along with being the fanciest bathroom I've ever they also give  you a bunch of amenities I got a comb a razor a body wash towel toothbrush slippers and of  course some real sexy pajamas okay now this is hysterical look at these pajamas clearly not  made for tall people very flattering if I do say so myself feel real nice real nice  thick material as well ooh wow too bad we have separate beds Tonight Eric would  probably like these look at [Laughter]

these look at this fit wow you're looking  good why does this kind of suit you I love it I actually I feel so comfortable I'm so glad  they gave this to us you look comfortable look at us living in style living in style fit 3/4  length style yeah fit check check you're having fun I actually love this I know I'm having so  much fun oh Eric missed I went to my room and someone else was in it in your room yeah oh no  like literally just like laying in the bed and already like I could see the shoes

and the light  was on and stuff come back to reception I had to change her to her room oh that's okay good night  love you have a nice night without me how's your how's your bed uh it's a little bit stiff but  it's okay we'll see you [Music] same [Music] [Music] well that's all in Japanese so I can't watch up good to try I just calculated that it's like 6:00 in the  morning for us we basically been staying up this whole time I didn't sleep on the plane at all  and now it's time to sleep and cat

ch up on this time good night SAR good night I miss you Eric sweet dreams good night I just had the most magical Spa experience  ever they have this hot tub room attached to the bathroom so I went in there this  morning and they have all these little showers with tons of different like face  lotions and shampoos and stuff to clean your body and then you go in the hot tub  at the end and it was just wow what a way to wake up I couldn't film in there because  everyone was naked but it was so nice

I wish every Hotel had that attached honestly it's  making me a little sad that Japan is in our last destination because we definitely need  to come back here it is Elite but anyways sad in general that we have to pack up right now  but it's time to get going and catch our next [Applause] flight well hello there sunshine how  you doing good how are you doing good I did not sleep super well you didn't no I probably  woke up like once every hour yeah I did too but I still think it was a great slee

p no I I  I feel like I loved everything about it but I just I just didn't sleep very well I did  not conquer jet leg like I thought I did I should have uh I should have given you a  melatonin maybe cuz I took one of those oh you did but I still woke up every hour but  it was like a it was like a happy every time I checked my phone I was like oh I still got  5 hours still got 3 hours and then I woke up so happy this morning cuz I definitely slept  like a nice eight hours of sleep so I missed you

that's good I missed you too you go in the  spa this morning yeah of course that's [Music] great catch it D thanks [Music] bab wa how weird does this feel sir this feels so  weird I can't believe we're actually here in the Philippines we're in the Philippines right now  this is oh my I'm so glad this journey is over though feels wild so long Honestly though I'd  say with the capsule hotel that actually went way better than I thought I feel great like I  feel a little bit tired but honestly way

better than I thought a 2-day journey was going to be  I'm really glad we had a chance to like have a place to just lay down yeah exactly have nice  little break spa treatment perfect absolutely but uh yeah we're in the Philippines we have a  lot of videos coming up uh in the Philippines so we're really really excited so if you want to  see some of that then follow along subscribe and we'll see you in the next one double hand  one more time always and I noticed that there's like a spa here also
