The victims, both male and female, were found dismembered and vivisected, the weapon determined to be a logging chainsaw. A statewide ma
nhunt was begun by then-Police Chief Richard T. Hobbins. During the investigation, the killings did not stop, the maniac always one step ahead of the law. Eventually, every killer makes a mistake, and the perpetrator, Jack Hallow, was cornered in a barn and shot to death by a posse. (rounds firing) The autopsy findings indicate he was shot no less than 68 times. (rounds firing) (rounds firing) The murders became a nationwide phenomenon, and the killer, now known in folklore as Ripper Jack, went
on to infamy. The backlash from the crimes was so horrible, Ripper Jack's final resting place is undisclosed. No one knows what happened to the body, but it's known by people who were present that night he was killed, that he cursed the town folk and the woods with his hate and vicious evil. To this day, people avoid the night air and the dark woods because you don't want to anger the spirit of Ripper Jack. We know you've been through a traumatic experience, but I need the clear facts on what's been going on in these parts. - How many times do I have to tell you and your fly boys the sam
e story? - Until you say something that makes sense. Now, please, one last time, and let it be the truth. - For the 80th time, myself and four of my friends came out here to go camping for the weekend. When he showed up, at least I think it was him, he started killing everyone. Or at least, I think he did. - You see, this is where I'm having a difficult time believing your side of the story. You do a lot of this, "I think and I think," and it reduces your credibility. - It was Ripper Jack, okay?
(chainsaw revving) (ominous music) - Ripper Jack? - The chainsaw killer! - [Officer] He's just an urban legend. - Tell that to my dead friends. He is no urban legend. He was there! And he's waiting, watching, and ready to strike again. (grass rustling) What's that? (Rose gasping) - It appears to be some evidence. Penny, Roy and Dane, you and I, camping this weekend? - Ah, yeah. Yeah, sure. All right. I'll be ready in a half an hour. I love you. - Love you, too. Be ready. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh God. Oh. Ugh. All right. (hands high fiving) (horn honking) - You know what? I'll just grab some food along the way. Okay. (upbeat music continues) Hey, babe. - Hey, sleepy head. Natives are getting restless. You ready to go? - Hi, Rose. You ready for the big camping weekend? - Oh yeah. And you know me and the woods. - The boys don't know it. Guys and dolls this weekend. No coed camping. - Uh, what did I just hear? - You heard right, lover boy. It's our little vacation, too. - Bullshit! Rose, you're not gonna
go for this, right? - Raise your hands if no co-ed camping. (Rose giggling) - Uh? - Hope you brought some Playboy magazines. - Vicious, man. - All right, now that we've got that over with, what's the plan? - Gather around. Alrighty, we're here and Rock Bluff's about here. It's gonna be about an 86 mile drive up to there. We're gonna park there, about a seven mile hike up to our camping spot at Fletcher's Pond. - Okay, like, that's all fine, but did we bring enough stuff for three days in the wo

(Dane laughing) - That's all Roy's gonna do this weekend anyways. I got my period this morning. (girls laughing) - Sucks for him. (eerie music continues) - All right, this should be enough. Let's take it back to camp and build a fire so we can eat. - I'm starving. (leaves crunching) (Roy coughing) (crickets chirping) (crickets chirping) -
Look at us, in nature, just roughing it. - Oh, my idea of roughing it is staying in a hotel room without cable. - Hmm. There's something to be said about the amenities of technology. - What do you guys think about the Ripper Jack legend? - Can we not talk about this? - I'm just saying, what better topic to discuss than way out here in these deep, dark woods? - It's all crap. It's that simple. - I think every urban legend is steeped in some kind of truth. It starts small and then it grows from th
ere. - Yeah, I mean, Ripper Jack was probably just some hayseed who accidentally chopped off his own arm. - But what if he wasn't? What if he's what everyone says he is, a chainsaw-wielding maniac with an insatiable blood lust? - It doesn't matter. He's long gone, chainsaw and all. - Do you think his spirit still lingers out here? - Like a ghost? More nonsense. - I don't know. I think one's life essence can live on, even after they die, good or bad. - Yeah. It makes sense that one's spirit would
live on after they're gone. - That's some pretty heady stuff. get outta here. Get to the car. - What about the others? - Oh, they're probably dead, but we'll sort it out on the way, okay? (ominous music) (birds chirping) (Roy grunting) Gee. Gee, you don't remember anything? - Only what I told you. What do you think happened to me? Why would I wanna hurt you? - No, Ripper Jack. - Oh, what about him? He's just a legend. - No, he's real. His spirit is roaming these woods, possessing you, and Kenny, and I don't know who else. - Who murdered Penny? Me? Oh God.
- Oh, I don't know. I just know it wasn't me, but it could have been Kenny, maybe. Kenny was acting like you, crazed one moment, memory lost the nest. - Ripper Jack's spirit bouncing from one person to the next doesn't make sense. It's fantasy. - No, he has to have a vessel, something he can travel between. - The chainsaw. Kenny had the chainsaw when he was cutting wood, and so did I. It had to be the chainsaw. - Yes, the chainsaw. It is his weapon of choice. It has to be that. - Where did Dane
go? (birds chirping) We have to find her. - Oh, she was with you and you had the chainsaw. - I'll never forgive myself if anything happened. I didn't do anything! I didn't do anything! - Calm down, Roy. We're gonna get to the authorities, and they will sort through all of this. - More like they'll blame one of us, and then we'll be sent away. - No, no, no. Let's get to the car. We'll worry about one thing at a time. (eerie music) (Roy grunting) (birds chirping) - I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I gotta s
top for a second. - Sure. Take a moment, catch your breath. (eerie music continues) (Rose gasping) There's someone over there watching us. - Is it Kenny? I don't see anything. (eerie music continues) I think your mind is playing tricks on you. - No, no, there was. There was definitely someone over there. (chainsaw revving) (Roy grunting) (Kenny laughing) - You think you have this all figured out, don't you? - Kenny, you're not yourself. Try to remember who you are. - Kenny's dead, (ominous music
) and so are you. (chainsaw revving) (chainsaw revving) (chainsaw revving) (heartbeat pounding) (Rose screaming) (ominous music continues) - Whoever you are, why? Why? - Evil never really dies. I never really died. My spirit, my life force, stayed on long after my body was destroyed. This chainsaw became the vessel that allowed me to continue my killing spree. And now nothing can stop me, not the law, not bullets, not you. (Rose gasping) (dramatic music) (chainsaw revving) (Rose panting) (chains
aw revving) (Rose gasping) (chainsaw revving) (chainsaw revving) (dramatic music continues) (birds chirping) (chainsaw revving) (Rose gasping) (Kenny grunting) Bitch! (Kenny grunting) (chainsaw revving) (chainsaw revving) (stick striking) (Rose grunting) - Bastard. Go to hell. (dramatic music continues) (dramatic music continues) (leaves crunching) (dramatic music continues) (leaves crunching) (dramatic music continues) (birds chirping) (Rose panting) (dramatic music continues) (Rose panting) Oh
, thank God. Oh, oh. (Rose panting) Oh. (fist pounding) Someone, please, help me! - Missy, calm down. What's wrong? - My friends. They've been killed and someone's chasing me. And as crazy as it sounds, they're possessed! - By Ripper Jack? - How did you know? - I've been waiting for this day to come. Get inside. I'll call for help. (door shutting) (birds chirping) (chainsaw revving) (Kenny exhaling) (Kenny sighing) - I'll get you! - Ooh. - Yes. Yes, send someone as quickly as you can. There's be
en a murder. I don't know how many. There's a young woman here in shock, and she needs medical assistance. I warned the authorities this would happen. I think Ripper Jack is back. I know he was killed, but his evil lives on! Stop wasting time and get some troops out here. - Oh, thanks. - You'll be okay. The authorities should be here in a while. - Oh. How do you know about Ripper Jack? - Everyone knows about Ripper Jack in these parts. It's not just a legend. - You said you'd waited for this day
to come. What did you mean? - One of my boys was his victim many years back. I knew his evil reign of terror wouldn't end after he was gunned down. You can't kill evil. Do you believe that? - I do now. - You sure he got all your friends? - Most of them. And my boyfriend, he's possessed him. - He's not your boyfriend any longer. He'll have to be killed so Jack's spirit leaves him. - It's that stupid chainsaw he bought. It all started with that damn chainsaw. - That was Ripper Jack's weapon of ch
oice. He slaughtered my boy and many others. - What can we do? If we destroy the chainsaw, it will release the grip he has on my boyfriend. - Possibly. - If he followed me, then he's here, or will be soon. - That's what I'm hoping he does. I'll do him just like he did my boy. - But it's Kenny, not Jack, so you can't kill him. - He'll never be your boyfriend. Get that through your head. - We can reason with him. We can get through to him. We can save Kenny. Please! Ow! (fist striking) - I'm sorry
. It has to be this way, and you can't mess up my plan. (suspenseful music) (leaves crunching) (suspenseful music continues) (leaves crunching) (suspenseful music continues) (leaves crunching) (suspenseful music continues) (suspenseful music continues) (door squeaking) All right, you evil bastard. Come on! Try your luck with me. (door shutting) - What are you doing? Let me free. I'll be killed! - You'll be safe. He won't get within 20 feet to you, not with this. Yell all you want. It'll bring hi
m into my trap. Kenny, don't come in here. He has a gun! - That's it. Keep hollering. (Rose grunting) (suspenseful music) (chainsaw revving) (rounds firing) (suspenseful music continues) Die, you maniac! (rounds firing) (chainsaw revving) (homeowner shrieking) (suspenseful music continues) (Rose panting) Go to hell, Ripper Jack. (round firing) (Ripper Jack shouting) (soft eerie music) (Rose panting) (soft eerie music continues) (door opening) (soft eerie music continues) (crickets chirping) (sof
t eerie music continues) (soft eerie music continues) (crickets chirping) (soft eerie music continues) - Ma'am, please, try to compose yourself. (ominous music) We know you've been through a traumatic experience, but I need the clear facts of what's been going on in these parts. - How many times do I have to tell you and your fly boys the same story? - Until you say something that makes sense. Now, please, one last time, and let it be the truth. - For the 80th time, myself and four of my friends
came out here to go camping for the weekend, when he showed up. At least I think it was him. He started killing everyone, or at least I think he did. - You see, this is where I'm having a difficult time believing your side of the story. You do a lot of this, "I think and I think," and it reduces your credibility. - It was Ripper Jack, okay? (ominous music) (chainsaw revving) - Ripper Jack? - The chainsaw killer! - He's just an urban legend. - Tell that to my dead friends. He is no urban legend.
He was there, and he's waiting, watching, and ready to strike again. What's that? (Rose gasping) - There appears to be some evidence. (tarp rustling) (crickets chirping) (Rose sobbing) - Oh! (Rose sobbing) (Rose sobbing) (car electronics beeping) (suspenseful music) (door shutting) (suspenseful music continues) (crickets chirping) (engine rumbling) (officer sighing) (Rose groaning) (plastic rustling) You should destroy that thing. - I can't. It's evidence. - It's evil! It's a vessel for Ripper
Jack to continue his massacre. - Still sticking to that story, huh? - It's the truth. - We'll see what an investigation turns up. - Why bother? I already know what you're thinking. - [Officer] And what's that? - You're thinking that I'm crazy. You're thinking that I killed my friends. - It looks like that. But honestly, I don't think you killed anybody. - Huh? Really? - Yes. - So you believe me? You believe that Ripper Jack is out there? - I sure do. - How can you be so sure? (ominous music) - B
ecause I am him. (Rose shrieking) (crickets chirping) (eerie music) (chainsaw revving) (chainsaw revving) (eerie music continues) (chainsaw revving) (eerie music continues) (Ripper Jack shouting) (chainsaw revving) (chainsaw revving) (eerie music continues) (eerie music continues) (eerie music continues) (eerie music continues) (eerie music continues) (eerie music continues) (eerie music continues) (eerie music continues) (eerie music continues) (eerie music continues) (eerie music continues) (e
