TV Station IDs during 1983: THE REMAKE

The rising optimism of the United States after a recession, the first mobile phones, the ARPANET, but also a nuclear close call. This is the remake of Station IDs during the year 1983, showing the station animation ident logos from television channels all across the world. I own nothing. All the content belongs to their respective owners. No monetization is made off this video or channel. Only for educational, entertainment, and historical purposes. If you wish to have your branding taken off this video, please contact me to do so. Would like to credit @stupidstickman for some of the rare captures here! These captions are for corrections and extra notes. Would love to put subtitles to the vocals themselves. Ended on December 31, 1985, actually. RTP2 used the same branding. There are dates conflicting when this was first used. At the very most, it was first used in 1986. But I'm keeping it here. TP2 used the same branding, so it is not included here. Could include the other local channels but decided to refrain from making this video longer. Venezolana de Television, not Venevision. Didn't notic
e this unedited mistake until recently. The description would say "Tevedos is now America TV". CableVision had 3 channels. Recreation ident. Keeping it here though. Recreation ident. *government-owned September has 30 days. I don't know how that gaffe went over my head. TVB Pearl, TVB's English channel, wasn't included as I couldn't find an ID from there at the time. GMA's ID that was supposed to have been used in 1984 was also used in 1983, I didn't know that beforehand though. Used earlier sin
ce 1978, actually. I know, abrupt ending. I hope this video wasn't too long. I made a promise this year to not make these videos an hour long.

@TheIridiumic138

i released this video on time in the morning. happy Ronald Reagan day. my state is the only other state besides California to have it as an official holiday

@azriirham938

Grampian Television ident was from January 1st 1982 until December 31st 1999.

@JontyMaster

I remember seeing that WTTW ident on Sneak Previews with Siskel & Ebert.

@stupidstickman

Great remake of a classic that started it all! I’m quite flattered that I was able to help contribute in a way to this nice compilation of IDs from the early 80s.. I do enjoy this formatting better, as compared to the one used in your earlier videos.

@JontyMaster

Loved seeing the Smurfs in that Be There promo!

@thomasmittelwerk410

29:30 has to be the most graphically advanced of the bunch

@phamuchung7783

8:00 You used that remastered version for HBO Iconic ID

@makeadifference4all

14:30 - I saw that ident for so many syndicated UK programs when I was growing up in the US in the 80s

@4myr05

Correction : 45:52 This ident was used from 1978

@solinus7131

44:43 (CH5 Thailand) That's a PSA about saving energy (text translates to "Don't leave lights on unnecessarily.") Real ID is at that start of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QYN1tdVQTU (you can hear a voice being played in reverse, possibly someone in the studio rewinding a tape and a mic was left on)

8:00 What an incredible intro 22:15 70s Vremya song but happy. 23:21 inb4 people who say that this was used on the 50s Indonesian EAS (which is not) 25:38 I always wanted to watch XHTV before 2010, since then it became an only news channel. 26:07 XHMT used the same leitmotif for all of its IDs at the beginning of the 80s. 26:26 One of the few remnants of the years prior to IMEVISION, sadly much of the footage before '93 has been wiped out. 27:01 So Mexico wasn't the only country to use pre-Hispanic art for its IDs. 33:33 I agree that this looks and sounds fanmade, without any analog artifacts. 35:18 The Pastricka song is really beautiful 37:09 I think this works better than their attempt to make a news intro. 37:15 I actually thought that because of being recorded through DXing, it sounded weird. It's still as weird in good quality. (And I think the 80s ID was more creative than the modern one)

@Derivedwhale45

15:30 the world's first UwU sign from 31/10/1980 UwU 42:34 best version of NTV theme despite being a duplicate audio glitch ^^

@zone929I

28:02 nobody is gonna talk about how much of a bop this is?

@cfsk-tv

The video is beautiful as always! Also liked the reference to "News Intros & IDs from the Cold War".

@NeonPRODonYT

17:27 The jingle used isn't necessarily the 'ARD' jingle, though it was a jingle used by the ARD member broadcaster Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) as a radio interval signal. The ARD ident in the 70's would occasionally do this with variants of the ident having other broadcasters' jingles playing too.

@goofyuhhvyond

20:15 Note: Since June 16 2012, All Rai channels are broadcasted in 24/7

@MichaelJordAbiera

45:02 it was known today as All TV Channel 2 since September 13, 2022.

@ThisIsTGC

The year gaming almost died has finally been remade!

@0zne.

33:34 this is a fanmade, the voice i believe is a TTS, i think there's screenshots of the real ID online but it's lost rn. there is a promo of the channel during this time though

@JontyMaster

15:27 Yey it's Jonty's Logo Archive!
