WE STAYED AT BELGRADE'S WORST HOTEL!! 🇷🇸 Hotel Jugoslavia | Serbia travel vlog 2024

hey we're Ash and Dan and welcome to the final  part of our Serbian road trip in this video we go on the world's longest Gondola in Zlatibor  then head back to Belgrade to stay at one of the worst rated hotels in the city hotel Yugoslavia  40 years ago this former five-star hotel used to host some of the most famous guests in the  world before its closure now it's reopened but is it as nice as its former Glory Days? as  you can see the reviews suggest not I have run away disappointed disgusting

what even suggest  is sleeping under a bridge being a better option it's so bad I wouldn't even stay here for free  reads another review what have we got ourselves into join us as we review our stay and find out  if things are really that bad at hotel Yugoslavia we're definitely the only  people on this today aren't we it looks like it's open so we're going  to give it a go um there's already lady in the Hut so hopefully that's good news  what is it though oh it's a gondola and it's the longest

Gondola long it's  the longest panoramic Gondola in the world let's see if it's open got our  tickets so now we're going to head on the Gondola how much it was 3,000 dins  which is about 22 so £ per person not too bad so that's all right then you have to  pay for parking so we did that how much was that 80 dins 80 so that's bless in a  pound but she said it takes 1 hour this gond cuz it's so long so okay well you job  be paid for 2 hours parking let's go let's go here we go got one to ourselves

to our I know there's only one family on the  whole thing it's quite big godilla than even go there for skis you Wally ski holders oh c oh nice it's like carpet soft a ski  resort so that's why this was built the ski resort is called toric and I think it's like the main  place that serbians come to ski but not so much snow just now same with our bosia trip really  the snow seems to be coming a bit late this year so our original plan for today was to  do the monument hike which is I think it just

takes around about 1 hour uh to a war memorial  and it suppos offers quite a good view over his L Bo but I'm pretty glad we did this instead  we're just looking at last minute things to do since the weather changed something indoor it  was going to be a bit difficult because the it's Christmas today so a lot of things are closed  but luckily this is still open and we can now say we've been on the longest panoramic  Gondola in the world which is pretty cool cool way to spend Orthodox Christmas i

t is  feels really modern this gond I'm not sure yeah it does when it was built but I can't  believe we're going to be on this thing for an hour so it must be half half an hour each  way and she said you can get off at the top and maybe have a little Wonder cuz we paid  for the 2 hours of parking she that's what she's suggested might as well oh this one's  got a s out on it oh nice go check it hey Santa that's so cool where should we go  I know Christmas one it's also little it's sponsored by li

ng near the end there's a little bit of  snow actually got about the ground now yeah there's not going to be much view from the top I  don't think but if there's a little coffee shop we plan to get off a little Explorer and then  get back on yeah half an hour on a g I don't think I've ever been on one nearly that long  we arrived just over a half an hour later oh looks like you can get coffee there's a picture of  massive coffee right behind you let's get off and explore we are basically the onl

y ones up here  there's one of their family three other people yeah one family and us not much of a view spooky  like cuz you've got all the mess and you see like all the well they're right now they're abandoned  yeah like the other chair lifts it's just like yeah it's a closed ski resort isn't it there's no  snow Yeah tiny tiny for skiing yeah but there is a restaurant at the end here doubt it's open but  let's go check it out who knows maybe we can get a coffee but yeah it does have a kind of

eedie  vibe about it you got the music on regon yeah it is well we managed to find the coffee stop we're  in this kind of like at ski bar yeah um it's just nice to get out the cold it's really cozy  in here there's a few other people that are up here as well so it's not just us anymore it is  a little bit quiet cuz there's no snow and it's Christmas so people will be at home celebrating  with their family so fingers crossed a bit of a clearer view when we get back outside I know  it would be nic

down  and half of it been reopened as a hotel again don't know what  they do with the other half but yeah pretty yeah check out the it's been  a while since we've stayed in a hotel well that's actually like it makes you kind of dizzy  if you stare at that when you're walking a nice little seating area done maybe later this was  the place to be pretty sure we've had on line think te of Turner stayed here oh there was a  few cabs wasn't there even Whitney Houston I think yeah we'll double check b

his hey this is nice I don't know why this score is a 6.2  but so far it's been great nice big bed bed test it's a soft comy bed is it yeah it's soft carpet cool big TV  it looks like it's just maybe recently been refurbished this room looks  quite fresh some like older Parts is yeah like the cracks in the  wall that's really nice shower seems nice yeah bathroom shower room  with the shower handheld that is great fun to use bday toilet so far so  good and breakfast is included and look at our wa

rdrobe well it's not a  wardrobe but it's like some drawers if needed let's put your retro is that thing open  no look at this side yeah wardrobe hey to be fair this is decent he really good I love this  view so there you go Hotel Yugoslavia we're here for the night got breakfast included we'll need  to find dinner somewhere uh hopefully there's something open because as I say it's Christmas  day here in Serbia there's a lot of people out and about though it's a lot busier on the roads  as well

than we expected um but yeah so far so good and actually those are all the restaurant  boats yeah so maybe they'll be open yeah we'll see what we end up just come out to the balcony  and although our room is nice and fresh just noticed the balcony is's uh in a little bit  of a disrepair but if I look at the I'm kind of nervous but if you look at the balcony below  look at all that broken glass it's not looking too good maybe that's why they upgraded us cuz some  of the rooms are not so good but

yeah this view is Ace very nice so some famous people have stayed  here we've done our research Richard Nixon Buzz Aldren Queen Elizabeth stayed  here and Tina Turner now us the biggest YouTube no obviously not um but if  you want us to be then feel free to subscribe and like the video  H we're just heading out for dinner coming to kind of an unexpected option it's a  traditional Chinese restaurant and we'll put the footage up but as we were coming in there  was a performance upstairs so the guy

was like go upstairs see the performance and then he  like showed us the menu really friendly and like gave us options of what we can choose so  we basically ordered a couple beers we ordered seafood and spicy Half and Half Hot Pot H with  all like the I guess siid vegetables tofu meat come in Seafood some stuff as well um yeah I  don't know we expected to be here we're also so we're we started to walk down the river and  on the river there's these boats I think they're called spab I think so w

e'll put the name down the  bottom double check so we've come here and yeah they're saving our bacon on Christmas day so we're  eating Chinese hot pop on a boat in the middle of Belgrade on seras on Serbian Christmas bit crazy  yeah and also we've never had Hot Pot before this is our first time I don't know what I'm doing  but a nice way to end the road trip for sure J we're currently getting fed by our waight  this I don't know if this is I don't know if I guess maybe normal but she just stands

there like  everything in the even on my spoon directly so I I leave my spoon like that she'll pick out a bit  place it on there and I'll just scoop it in it's so funny so I have no idea she like I I got a fork  because I used the Chopsticks and she was like she basically just went and got down a for she  got me one but I think I'm managing okay um but yeah amazing food to prepare eating solo you're  eating solo Oh yeah sorry the girl's gone yeah Dan's literally been mouth fed feed absolutely 

stuck this place is BR new they're still in trial operation I just wa to get two desserts with this  I'm like okay and we've still got like we've still got a lot of food basically okay everything's  gone from the tray but yeah it's cuz it's all in there this is the most wild experience  but also do that again this is he knows when you're speaking this has been the most  wild experience but it's been so cool oh it's been sometimes when we just went we just went  you know like we didn't come out l

ooking for this place we literally came out I mean it was  raining so we just decided to come and then we couldn't really see no after that so this is our  dessert has arrived I'm glad it's quite like a light dessert oh it's light yeah it's like a  jelly fruy jelly that's grapes I'm not sure what these H I'm not sure what these things are  like pearls are they crunchy what are the white things really soft really soft jelly like  thing something jelly really nice well we've just finished our hot

pot experience and to be  fair we' both just about rolled off yeah I mean We've Come Away absolutely stuffed I was the  anchor on that boat I was so heavy um honestly I've never seen Dan I've never seen you have so  much food in front of you like at one time she basically stood over my left shoulder filling  up my spoon every 10 seconds I like you take a bite next thing more I was just like when can  I tap Che we'll put the name of the place but it's called hot pot and it's on the other side of 

the river in Belgrade like from the main bit it's the thing is it's literally not even a 5 minute  walk from our hotel Yugoslavia that rounds off our time on our road trip we're back in Belgrade  as you know and we're heading south tomorrow for our last stop in Serbia so although it won't  end here here because we'll show you we have breakfast included at so we got to show you  that so we'll see you in the morning and then we'll wrap up the ball there okay good night  good night good morning fr

he is can you see him there he goes right there coming back for um well coming back  to get some breakfast because that's the next that's the next thing we're going to go  and get breakfast downstairs it's included in our room price um so we'll do a little we'll  show you that as well and see how it is but yeah so far Hotel Yugoslavia it's been great  deserves more than a 6.2 although I will say I can understand why maybe it gets the reviews it  does because there are parts of the room although

it's been redone and it looks quite fresh  the bathroom's a bit tired the the shower doesn't hang on the wall and at the back of the  door there's like some I don't know the woods molded but at the end of the day it's been a  very good sleep from us so we'll see you at breakfast I think it's upstairs the staircase yeah it's a large  breakfast hole but it doesn't look very busy imagine the queen com up here put her eggs over down look at this this looks all right hey plenty to choose from cheese

s  Meats oh jeez full on like wraps and toaster Pizza little salad bar some Breads and  pastries rice cakes are looking good yogurt and of course or juice machine I thought it was a  coffee machine coffee oh was that coffee here good stuff so we've got these as well got some eggs now this is an interesting one they look interesting we've got some  bacon there and last one more sausages good enough very good actually yeah nice ciao thank you goodbye Hotel Yugoslavia our last time through the spin

ny  doors well that's us checked out of Hotel Yugoslavia a very good stay overall yeah all  in all very good I would give it a nine out of 10 yeah personally I probably would agree  the breakfast was like the breakfast was good it def it wasn't like the best breakfast cuz  you could tell every me satting out for ages but I don't think there's many guests staying  yeah most of the people eating the breakfast where the staff yeah ask the staff and maybe  like a two other guests um but yeah good st

ay overall we' recommend and it also worked out  quite cheap it was like 43 for the night yeah and we got up breakfast and we got an upgrade so  yeah there you go Hotel Yugoslavia time to get the bus to nich our final stop in Serbia  so we will see you in the next one bye bye
